This movie got alot of hate when it first came out. Say what you will but this was by far one of the best openings to any disney sequel I had ever seen
It was hated? What for? I watched the crap out of it when I was a little kid.
@@josuegtr1034 I heard some don't like it because Lindsay Lohan (the actor for Maggie) also starred in 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' (which didn't do well in the box office).
It's definitely worse quality simply because of the era it was made in, however the intro brought back all the right feels and it being a Herbie story it still doesn't fail as a movie to bring a tear to the eye as you cheer for the little beetle on the inside :)
It's so sad that this is probably the last time we'll ever see Herbie.
I really love Herbie; he's such a cute and lovable car. ⚪
It is i think since no one has made herbie ever again since 2005 and its now 2024
honestly, i love every herbie movie
lot of people say it's bad, but i don't think so.
if you love every herbie movie like me, like my comment
Super Sonic 75 liked your comment, I don't trust these people who hated the movie especially the look of Herbie, they didn't know that Herbie looked different from the past films because the production crews were different at these times so its very different from the past Herbie movies.
@@realVicTorres02 In the first words not gonna agree my friend loves this movie he does like herbie but he just doesnt like look of him i dont really how but well my friend is in love with new cars you know lambo that type of cars
Atari Master do you mean when Trip was attacking him and Herbie exploded (I honestly don’t know what to call what he did) behind him?
Super Sonic TV (Джордан Карлоу) meh... Even as a kid I didn’t love or hate this film. It was kinda like elevator music, just in one ear and out the other.
This is a really good opening sequence. Not just for using Getcha Back, but for how it highlighted both the impressiveness of Herbie's successful career as well as its unfortunate, but unavoidable conclusion as well.
this intro brings up the question of how nobody knew the race car that
1) looked like herbie
2) drove like herbie
and 3) defied all mortal physics like herbie was herbie despite cars that did big achivements like beating ferrari at le mans for the ford gt40 are remembered throughout history and i'm pretty sure a street legal vw beetle beating many purpose built race cars and a car finishing in both 1st and 3rd place would count as things that would be immortalised
The thing about this movie is that it is there to make you feel good and put a big smile on your face
I remember being a kid growing up with the original Love Bug movie. Then this came out and I had to see it. Born in 97, still love the entire series.
Born in 2000, same situation. I got into the love bug when I was 4, went and saw this in theatre when I was 5. 1st movie I remember seeing in theatre. Love them all as they were all part of my childhood
R.I.P VW Beetle :( 1938-2019
@Brebgon my god if i spelt something wrong its beacuse i am from Poland please stop sticking your Ass to grammar will ya?
This was a brilliant way of bringing Herbie back.
As someone who had only seen the original Love Bug before seeing the this when I was a kid, this let me know that there were more sequels.
This movie was my introduction to Herbie, and after all these years I finally got my first car which is a 1963 VW beetle, thank you Herbie
This was the film that made my childhood, this was one I always loved to watch due to my obsession with cars! 😊
They need to do another Herbie reboot. And don't screw it up!
then the working title for the movie would be called Herbie: Fully Loaded 2, since it takes 13 years after the events of the original Fully Loaded movie
If they were to make another movie I feel it needs to be either a period film or they should use herbie in one of those period races like at goodwood in England. Putting herbie against modern racecars today wont work in my opinion. But seeing him on the track at goodwood againt cortinas, minis, alfas and jaguars would be a blast
02:20 Herbie moonlights as a Taxi, whoa! a reference to Herbie Goes Bananas as when Herbie was recovered from drowning, resurfaced on land, Herbie and Paco runs away after the fishermen tries to take Herbie, roamed around the streets of Panama and became a taxi right after reuniting with Paco.
I like to think it's more of a reference to the mini series they did after Herbie goes bananas even tho he was helping driving lessons more then a taxi
This was the first ever herbie movie I ever watched but when I noticed all the other movies at the intro
I asked my dad if he could buy me the herbie movie collection and he did so I watched them all including
I remember watching the 1997 movie on TV I was playing with a herbie pullback toy while watching herbie racing Horace
Man that's how I meet herbie with this movie.
Me too Spider-Man Fan, I have an lot of fun memories watching this film plus this was my introduction to Herbie.
I love how they added Eyelids to herbie, now he can blink
I wasn’t really a fan of it. I always liked it when you can tell what he feels even if he doesn’t have a face.
I don't know if I like them. What I like about the older movies is how you could still tell what Herbie was feeling, even when the filmmakers had absolutely nothing to work with in terms of facial features. If they wanted to make him more expressive, they should've done the "dot eyes" look from the old posters. It would look a lot cuter.
I didn’t like that at all. Preferred it in the older films when you could still tell what Herbie was feeling without any facial features. The CGI made Herbie look a bit cartoonish.
this was the movie that introduced me to herbie and later on i started watching the original films and the show i honestly loved it
When I was a kid, Herbie: Fully Loaded was the first movie I met Herbie in and every time I saw the opening of Herbie: Fully Loaded, I didn't know about Herbie's previous adventures before he met Maggie. Then I found out that the scenes and images that came out in the opening belonged to the previous movies called The Love Bug.
KITT and Herbie is a crossover I need in my life
I think Universal is more than willing to since they don’t use him anymore lol
It's nice to see the clips of the old Herbie movies.
Those were the happiest days in Herbie's life. He had great adventures and competed in different races. But, then one day, it all couldn't go on forever. It looked like his days were numbered.
WHERE IS HE NOW!!?? common make another movie!
@@camrontubehd8934 you haven't actually made a statement like this one so no one actually agrees with you. Your comment should've been like: "I agree with you!"
Man, 1960s Herbie nostalgia. This is one of the greatest sagas I ever experienced as a kid.
Ah my childhood right hear folks. Can't help but sing along to this timeless classic whenever i bring this up and hope one day to have my own Herbie.
Arguably the best opening sequence of any film out there
I’d say this movie still holds up and always will it’s a great movie and a timeless classic I’ve watched it god who knows how many times and still do
Absolutely love this opening scene it shows Herbie in his Hey Day !! And glad he got his well deserved comeback in this film ❤❤
Never gets old.
I saw this movie when I was 1 year old. I'm 16 now. And this movie was my first cinema experience
The cutest car.
I liked the movie, dont like so much how they transformed herbie into that wide body nascar
If they'ed ever make a 7th movie I'd say go back to the original design but keep the eye lids and side stripes.
These movies were so good. We're long overdue another Herbie movie.
Lightning McQueen in Cars 3 in a nutshell.
McQueen and Herbie are not the same. Both of them may have stopped racing but Herbie's much older than McQueen and he spent his following days after his latest race with his new love, the yellow and black Beetle while McQueen became Cruz Ramirez's new mentor.
Herbie is such a classic, those old movies were what actually got me into cars 🙏
I wish Herbie would come back for another movie because this car is both a legend and an icon
Herbie and kitt are friends
I like it how this was one of very few Disney movies at the time to embrace their many sequels. To see that they included Herbie Goes Bananas instead of just keeping the original trilogy makes me think of how much heart of the history that went into making this movie. Essentially this is the 5th movie, the 2nd of the next (hopefully) trilogy. One more Herbie movie to round it as a 6 movie saga would be the perfect conclusion to Herbie franchise.
HERBIE FRANCHISE
1. The Love Bug (1969)
2. Herbie Rides Again (1974)
3. Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977)
4. Herbie Goes Bananas (1980)
5. Herbie: The Love Bug: TV Series (1982)
6. The Love Bug TV Movie (1997)
7. Herbie Fully Loaded (2005)
I cannot describe how many times I have watched this movie as a kid
NOSTALGIA! 😭
Congrats Jalen Moran on your 20,000 subscribers.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I know it bad, but I really enjoy the mention at the end with the beach boys slowing down to get settle into the relation that not everything last forever: honest and heartful
Lol I watched this a lot when I was younger I'm 13 now and I didn't know there were other herbie movies XD
Herbie's always (except in this movie where everything was dome wrong seemingly on purpose) reminded me of a scrappy little Terrier. Not just his size-- but he communicates without speech, he never backs down, he's prone to getting super pissed off, he chases birds AND dogs for fun-- and let us not forget his attempts at some side action, ahem-ahem! Oh, just thought of this: four legs, four wheels. Plus on the casting floor, the regular normal xar had people reaching out and actually PETTING it! Herbie's a fuckin' dog!
Der beste Film bzw. die beste Filmreihe von Disney ever, ever, ever, ever
2:24 Sadest movie begin EVER like the little car that won MILIONS of races rallys he were loved by everyone now has to end in junkyard?
@Nathaniel Cruz They don't understand do they
They make 10,000 cars, they make them exactly the same way, and one or two of them turn out to be something special. Nobody knows why
I'm just wondering if the Walt Disney company would make an animated series about Herbie in the future.
Hopefully they make another live action film. Still Herbie has 6 movies under his belt, thats not bad at all
If they can make a Disney Jr series based off The Rocketeer, then Herbie has a chance of returning.
@@fresh10
Maybe they'ed reference Jim passing away (like his actor) similar to what the Cars movies did with Doc.
One of my best childhood movies of the world!❤❤❤
I loved all the herebie movies I still watch them to this day I always es loved this intro….brings so many memories back❤❤❤❤❤
Who else thinks Herbie Fully Loaded is way better
I can’t believe I was 10 when I watched this movie.Back when Disney movies were good and not some remake about a misunderstood villain or shot by shot remake of an original movie.
I was 10 years old when that movie was released too, one year before Cars, another racing movie I loved to watch, was released.
Childhood memories coming back
Still think at the end there could've been a moment where this old man walks up to Herbie and says "I always believed in you."
And this'd be the late Dean Jones
According to the Disney wiki Jim was attended to cameo but there were communication and scheduling troubles.
Or maybe there could be a scene where Jim (Dean Jones) is in a retirement home flipping through the channels on his TV, and being shocked to see his old friend Herbie in a NASCAR race.
It’s time for another Herbie movie.
I love how creative this intro is seeing how it shows how Herbie starts out as a champion but then starts to show his age over the years and gets outdone by newer cars.
1:40 Herbie: "Hello Kitt!"
I love herbie such an adorable thing
Little Car Takes First..... Annd Third Place

*Proceeds to Show Herbie in Half Winning The El Dorado Race*
This is My Favorite Part in This Movie Intro
The Herbie franchise is better that many modern days live action Disney movies and series.
The Knight Rider bit lmao
Edit: after watching Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, i realized they actually photoshopped KITT onto where Giselle was.
😀✨🏎HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY HERBIE !!!🏎✨😀
Nostalgic movie.
Please tell me i'm not the only person 40 or over who loves this movie.
When your intro that recaps some of the previous films delivers more hype than the actual movie the audience is sitting down to watch...
If I could make a Herbie movie, It would take place directly after Herbie Goes Bananas. It would be about Pete Stancheck, DJ, and Paco racing in the Brazil Grand Prix. There would be a subplot about Paco finding his parents. Maybe Paco's dad could be played by Paco's original actor, Joaquin Garay III. Herbie would look like he did in Bananas, so no eyelids or eyebrows. Comment on anything else you would want to see!
Herbie's design from the original Herbie Goes Bananas won't be reused anymore but use instead the Fully Loaded design.
Also the return of Herbie's Girlfriend from Monte Carlo Giselle the Lancia or the Fully Loaded Yellow New Beetle.
I used to love this movie as a kid, and when I grew I became a fan of the beach boys. The first time I heard this song while looking them up I was like isn't this the song from effing herbie lmao
i love this movie soundtrack the beach boys getcha back
This makes me want to tear up so much i remember so much of my childhood maan i remember sitting with my mom and watching this movie we watched it over and over and over again and everytime we did it feelt like it got better and better i love this movie maaan fuck...
Man... childhood
The greatest intro ever, second is cars
I haven't seen this movie since I was in diapers, so watching it 16 years later is nostalgic beyond comprehension.
I think the next one should be called Herbie ready to roll again
Everybody wants a Ferrari but I want Herbie
When Herbie started losing to cars with bigger engines was he fired or did he retire
I think he was forced to retire since no one didn't want him anything to do with him
@@theracingdriver303jr4 I think it was that as the years passed, Herbie started losing because his owners abused and hurt him because of his appearance and age. He lost his self-respect, made them lose, and they soon tossed him away to the next owner

If you look closely, all the newspaper articles use the exact same paragraph repeatedly copy-pasted.
Love Herbie movie
I wonder what happened to Jim Douglas? Maybe he was sent to a home of retirement elderly people or maybe he died.
Dean Jones was suppose to make an appearance as Jim Douglas, but his scenes were never filmed because of his work schedule.
@DragonBat362 Is this in fully loaded? That would've been great to see. It's so sad that everyone from the first movie (except Michele Lee) has died.
Still love the fact they put most references to the first 2 being the only good ones, and him winning El Dorado
Throughout the opening credits of the movie, the newspapers mention dates that do not line up with actual calendar days or moments in Herbie's canon. There are several moments that mention dates such as 1962 and 1964, times that make no sense as the earliest the first Love Bug movie took place was 1968. A great example of this is during "Herbie Spurs Arcade Craze" the date is listed as Friday, February 24th, 1964. Not only were electronic arcade cabinets not widely available until the mid 1970s, but that day was also a Monday, not a Friday.
and he seems to have a built in cassette player with Van Halen.
Or maybe he tuned into a radio station that just started playing "Jump".
Also all the walls of text are the exact same article about Jim winning five races in a row against Thorndyke and then abruptly changing the topic to Nascar stuff. Movies and games do this sort of thing a lot obviously because they never expect you to notice it, so it never really bothered me.
@@steamboatwill3.367 The cassette player probably came from whoever owned Herbie during the 80s.
It just suprises how this vw is a race car and friendly :D
Just bought a 72 super beetle and i do believe there's herbie's magic in these beetles weather its a standered or super beetle
Say whatever you say about this movie but it had the most iconic opening scene in the cinema history
Childhood Memories
1:41 Why did they replace that Lancia with Kitt?
My first favourite cars where the original mini and the 1963 vw beetle Herbie
After seeing all the other Herbie movies I would say this is not the best one but I do have to admit this movie was my childhood
herbie has been an important part of racing film history
I thought Herbie had nightmares or flasbacks as to when he was winning.
When he started losing to cars with bigger engines was he fired or did he retire
@@justinvaladez4503 That*s the question I also have, from when the Herbie movies were made as to when Herbie fully loaded, was made it only shows Herbie falling apart, which is where they reconstruct him, doing some changes, wins a race and falls in love with a Porsche, annother question that I have, is what do the people now have in common with Jim Douglas who raced Herbie🤔
The best intro in disney movie s for me

0:43 Breckin Meyer was the same actor that played Jon Arbuckle in the Garfield live-action movies.
I was 5 years old maybe? Damn i cry
This reminds evolution off my bffs 2005-2021
This intro reminds me of the 1980's to 2022 in general. The 2020's are literally a junk yard.
They don’t make movies like this no more in 2022
What I want to know is why Douglas got rid of Herbie. I wouldn't
Jedi Master Jack They kind of made it sound like he passed away.Cause they found herbie just sitting in his old garage with all the old trophies and everything.
Skater6453 Or maybe Jim sold Herbie. Because he is already retired from racing.
@@realVicTorres02 but why would Jim sell Herbie? They were best friends!
In Herbie Goes Bananas, it is explained that Jim wanted to give Herbie to his nephew Pete to race with in a Rio grand prix. But that didn't go according to plan, because if you've seen the movie, Herbie befriends the little boy Paco and he becomes Herbie's driver for the Rio grand prix. It's just too bad we didn't get to see it, because Herbie Goes Bananas "sorta" ended in a cliffhanger. I would've loved to see a successor to Bananas where Herbie races with Paco in the Rio grand prix. It would've been stupid, but the 6 year old me would've bought it! :D
There was some short lived 1980's TV series where Jim got a step family and one of the episodes they needed a bigger car. We could just assume that this led to Herbie's downfall.
I like the original Herbie movies, this one is good too
Herbie sorellina il maggiolino che ha un cuore
I'll always have a soft spot for this movie as it was the film that introduced me to Herbie.
