Ive met Rivera before, he used to come spar at my local gym. Guy has probably one of the hardest jabs i’ve ever seen and he did not implement it at all in this fight
I wondered the same... why he wasn't using the jab... I know Martin was way faster, and hit harder but... you have to implement your defense, and try to do your game.

Idk about amazing. Really good footwork, sure, but not amazing. His angles aren't that impressive. I think if he can adjust his angles and footwork to where he can find those windows for more effective and efficient strikes, he would be alot more proficient. A guy with his build, stamina, and power shouldve put away rivera away within 3 rounds

You can clearly see that he improved his defensive skills since his previous fights. He was very impressive on this one : speed, defense, power. If he continue on this way, he will do a lot of damage in that division. I want to see him fight with bigger fighters now.

I watched the fight live on tv and this is my first time seeing the highlights. It was drastic enough watching it live but these highlights are literally like watching a bee swarm around an opponent. Rivera had absolutely no idea what to do. He couldn't process the information fast enough.

Martin did an amazing job on keeping his lead foot outside of Rivera’s and his double jab and stab to the body was on point to. He definitely deserves to be in the talks with other 135 lbs fighters.
Frank has a lot of stamina, I feel like Rivera should slow down and peep a perfect shot instead of trying to go franks past and also he should stand taller rather then getting low all that’s doing is helping frank get a better shot

Frank Martin made it difficult for Rivera to hit him given that rivera had the height and arm range advantage. I am sure Martin is about to change the narrative at both 135 to 140 he is technically solid exciting to watch too

Frank is a heck of a fighter but with questionable power, and instincts to finish. Shakur's is too. Some of the slick boxers these days like the wide stance because they can control range really well with it and take smaller steps to disengage. You have to have a good grasp of distance control to do it though
