- For Portland Japanese Garden's art exhibition, "Painting Paradise", artist Daisuke Nakano provides an exclusive studio tour and behind-the-scenes into his process when creating his paintings. Nakano is an avant-garde visual artist who uses the centuries-old Nihonga-style painting technique to capture the elusiveness of light and vivacious spirit of wildlife through his screen paintings of imaginary botanical landscapes. Nihonga (日本画), a traditional style of Japanese painting, is created using solely organic materials - such as pigments from vegetables, minerals, animals, silk, wood, and gold.

Beautiful painting (-: Marion
I have 2 queries - 1) how do you mount the paper on the wooden frame? 2) how do you make the drawing after covering the paper with silver leaf?
Was he a japanese gymnast who competed in Athens 2004?
The procedure is entertaining and the painting is very nice. But i suffered through the white colored subtitles. My eyes ached so i didnt finish watching. Sorry.
