- New players of World of Tanks Console are in for a shocking surprise. Wargaming throws players into the Cold War with zero context about World War II. On top of that, the game encourages the use of boosters and yolo! This has to be one of the worst introductions to a AAA video game ever. It's no wonder that players are left feeling confused and frustrated. Be warned: this video might trigger you as we expose the biggest and darkest secrets behind World of Tanks Console's new player experience. With such a poorly designed introduction, it's hard to see how this game will survive in the long run.

I think that WG lost their way when they made premium tanks better than thei tech tree counterparts.
It used to be the other way around. You bought a premium to help you grind for something, by either giving you xp bonus or increased silver earnings.
Now players just buy the latest and greatest premium .and essentially learn nothing.
premium tanks used to earn a lot more too. I didnt mind driving an xp pinata and doing decent to poor in each game because premium time + premium tank used to net 200,000-300,000 silver. It was worth it. Now you have to play godlike to break 200k, and they nerfed income even more to force you to buy credit boosts. Terrible company decisions.

My favourite mission was Runaway Tiger. It had enough bots to destroy to actually make the rewards at the end worthwhile to do every day. I even took the time to find all the tanks in my garage that could do it fairly easily.

Agree but it was also bad since I played it with a few tier 10s and even with 100% of my shots hitting for full damage I didn't have enough rounds to kill em all and it got even worse with a low roll / ricochet / or missed shot.
I did enjoy it but it needs a little tweaking based on the tank the player uses
They took tier 1 and two completely out of the game except some premiums.
And some tier 3-4s as well
Incorrect, auto resupply no longer costs you gold. They fixed that a long time ago. Once you run out of boosters in your inventory they unequip the booster.

Tier three is a load of baloney. There are hunters down there. They hunt newbies for sport I test drove the panzer1c the other day. Body parts of newbies tanks were littered from one end of the map to the other. It was not a battle it was a slaughter. I was not aware until recently that there were people who specifically only play low tiers. New people will never learn in that type of environment. Ever....no freaking way.
It's called seal clubbing it's happens on all platforms
What did you do starting out did Yolo in are did you hold back and let things develop,preserving you're hp while doing damage let's you being in the game at the end when it counts regardless of seal clubbing
@rodricksargent2984 It's not unfair to say that when people say seal clubbing, the most common tank they think of is the Panzer 5/4. It's a tier 5, though. I was pretty sure if clubbing happened, it was in tier 5, not 3. I do own a 5/4. I never ever see tier 4 in my games, ever. I think MM does that in purpose. It's all T5, or I'm bottom tier in that tank.
That said, I think they should bring back tier 1 for newbs and make it so that new accounts will be the only ones on the MM in it's 1 and 2. If you want to play T1 as a vet, that's cool. You just wouldn't see fresh in the game newbies.
Also, the old way they trained you need to come back!
I spent quite some time on tiers 3 & 4 because I wanted to collect all ace tankers (I actually started at tiers 1 & 2 but they ditched those when I had about half of them aced, damn it!). I was usually the best player in most battles and it was very easy to dominate, probably not much fun for the noobs I was taking on. But, yes, I too was amazed at how many players are consistently playing at that level! I even started to know some of their names (and they probably knew mine after I kicked their butts a few times 🤣).
Sometimes I would look up players on wotstars and they would have like 8000 battles in the Pz I C or 6000 battles in the Thresher. I mean, besides the fact that there is no challenge and it's unfair, how do you not get bored playing that same tank over and over? Sometimes I could see, just through their behavior, that they were shocked someone was actually shooting back and hitting them consistently, like: wait a minute, that guy knows what he's doing, omg, run!
Made some tanks surprisingly difficult to ace, though, because these guys are putting up some big numbers...
@@DarkSygil666 Most of the time, when I play Pz 5/4 I get Tier 7 games... it seems they changed the tank's mm. But they gave almost for free another awfully OP T3 tank, the french based td, with insane camo and alpha. I get 3k damage games in it at T3, most of the game I stay undetected... that's crazy.
WG should at least point new players to trusted content creators for instruction and basic strategy if they think it isn’t cost effective to provide it themselves.
They did for a while, then most of the CC's started being critical about what they were doing with the game then they stopped, or kicked CC's and only promoted the ones saying nice things about paywall bundles
I think it was update 6.0 that removed tier 1 and 2. This actually helps me feel better about the state of the player base. At least I know the utter cluelessness on display isn't their fault for the most part.
We used to talk on the forum about how WG wanted to dumb the game down to the point that they could play on stream without embarrassing themselves. This just tells me it was worse than we realised.
If the new player experience wasn't already enough of a struggle with 5/4s and T67s waiting at tier 5, teaching people to actively try and overpower them is simply the best way to send them back to fortnight.
Until last season, Tier 1 and 2 had 15 players each side. Meaning, bot filled teams.
Now it is only 7 against 7. They noticed that otherwise, you would make too much damage.
How about that for being greedy?
War stories was classic and another fumble by wg in removing it! Tiers 1&2 no longer exist in the tech tree or premium tree...but you could get a couple tier 2 tanks in the ps store in collaboration with warships legends for free.
T2s can be obtained in the shop whenever they put them
A few months ago the put a bundle with like 7 t2s
This is an absolute disgrace from WG shoving these new players in CW that Vet Players still may have Era 1 tanks to one shot you and send you back to the garage! Not to mention releasing new Tech Tree Lines that only the Vet Players would know of what to do and forcing new players to get Gold and Prem Time and a Tank or two just to keep pace. On top of that not teaching you any strats or tactics on how to angle or shoot at weak spots, using items etc. It’s just, “Here you go, have fun. And give me your money in exchange here’s an OP Prem Tank and and few days worth of Prem Time!”
God, the new tutorials are certified dog 💩. It's hard to believe the WG sat down and seriously green lit these. New players aren't learning crap but how to spend money and yolo the first tank they see

They got rid of tiers 1 and 2 with update 6 or whatever one it was that completely turned the game to suck. They turned it from a simulator into an arcade game.

EXCELLENT point about auto resupply boosters and auto gold deduction. WG views us as chumps to be exploited. They don't even try to hide it! Think about that if you consider giving them your money.
The War Story Trinity and the "Glass Tiger" were insane tanks.

Your alpha drops with range. If you play tier 3, you will play against tier 2 from time to time. No one ever played tier 1 or 2, that's why they removed it.
Hey CG, it's been like this since CW dropped. Tiers I and II were lost about that time too.Pushes everyone into CW mode not WW2 and the training isn't much, doesn't teach anything useful just shows some of the game features, so new players have to look outside the game to get better. It's the same in world of warships console; there's nothing in the game that teaches you to play better or even play properly. I liked war stories, back in the day.
They put you in Cold War because ww2 players seal club too much and cw era 1 is very forgiving

I haven't played or got up to date with WoT since the Xbox One generation in 2016 or so and after watching this it makes War Thunder look good
at 11:00, you where asking where the bots where going, they usually go try cap the enemy base. Unless your base is getting captured they return to defend.

Wait, they just give new players the T95E3 now? Thats a pretty solid era1 silver farm tank. Might be an easy 3 mark for experienced players if noobs are getting it free.
Yesterday I realized something that I am not certain had changed; the non-premium consumables; my understanding was, if you did not use them, they would not be automatically resupplied at the end of the battle. Yesterday, I discovered that I was wrong. Now, the "one time use" non-premium consumables will be charged at each battle even if you did not use them.
I don't think it was the case before. If you did not use, you were not charged.
This contributes to go negative with credits. I am exclusively playing Tier II tanks, and as far as I remember, playing Tier II would seldom yield negative credits. No longer the case.
First, when you only play Tier II battles, it is 7 versus 7. So you do less damage, hence you earn less.
In Tier III battles, Tier II are unable to compete at all levels. Which is also a deterrent to play Tier II tanks. You are outclassed in each compartment of the game. Vision, Armor, Pen.
So War Gaming is doing all they can to push you away from the small tiers.
You just learned about that now? Ever since consumables were changed, to being able to be used multiple times and given active & passive bonuses, they've always charged you for them whether you used it or not.

I am talking about the single use consumables.
I seem to remember that before, if you did not use them, they would not be charged for the next battle.
There are very few players having single use consumables. I am one of them.
Since they came out, I have never used the premium consumables.
@@p6x2 no, I read it. Like I said it all changed when the consumable change occurred, however long ago that was now. Before that change to consumable, yes, you were not charged for the non-premium consumables. But that was a long time ago, back when the forums were still around. Ever since the consumables changed they charged you for any consumable you brought out, premium or not.
@@ENiceGeo That's how I remembered it, but I wanted to be certain. Incidentally, I used to be a Supertester until last year. I was "released" because I refused to switch to "discord" from email, and also refused to play Modern Armor. They released me on a fake pretense, without any means to protest. No big loss; but I only play the game without watching any of the WOT news. So sometimes, I discover the changes when I play. This is how I realized they nipped the credits of the lower Tiers. I seldom ever got negative credits before. Now, with only 7 against 7, it is more often.
they cleaned out the 1s and 2s. I had a bunch in my garage and after the switch all i have left is the T22proto and the Steadfast. Made me mad.
The only tier 2 or 1s that you can access are the ones in your garage. And maybe the ones you have already unlocked through grinding previous lines.
And the ones they put in the shop,there was an offer some months ago

Erm at 10:13 to fired a HE round behind the back left of the enemy missing. Leaving you not an enough shells. Looks like on purpose.
If you landed that HE shell, you could’ve killed with normal shell.
I did miss on purpose. I meant to pen with the following HE shells so that I could kill the final tank with my final shell for a rare medal.
I noticed tier 1 and 2 in the tech were taken out a year or more ago, but if you have premium t1 or 2 I think you can still queue, but not sure

@@simoncalitri5550 I kept all my tier 2 premiums but I never play them anymore. At tiers 3 & 4 I still have the Pz III E and Pz II G (both great, 3E is probably my favorite tier 3), Pz 38t nA, the Stuart I-IV, T-70 & T-80. Ditched all the others once I aced them.
@@paskeetje Damn I kept for tier 2: the Swedish td pvv42 tank, pz2, medium 2, t-60, Ft AC, and tier 2 arty the ft bs. Tier 3 I kept the t-70, and tier 4 I kept the grant.

Clone, love the spirit bro, but Wargaming has made an absolute fortune on this game by providing players with...NOTHING.
10 years ago, they based the game off real tanks, mechanics, pens, speed, the whole lot of that vehicle...now it's a very shallow shadow of what it was meant to be, and there is no coming back.
Gave up on this thing about 2 months ago, just not fun anymore, new players are just flat stupid, because Wargaming refuses to implement anything to teach them. Hell, not even a link to CC's that MIGHT teach them.
Bots are rampant, the game is dying, and the Devs are just way to slow to figure out how bad they screwed up and implement fixes. 6.0 was the last straw, players left in droves, and now what is left is nothing short of a kids arcade game, shown in the gameplay.
Wargaming retired the teir 1 and 2 tanks.

Then they come across the Needle when they get uptiered against T4s. The first tutorial doesn't have anything to do with WWII mode. No flanking, tracking, camo mechanics being taught to new players.

WG are all about money now, the passion for this game died a year ago when all the op premiums entered the game. This "training" are for tricking new players to think they are far better than they really are.
You are absolutely correct.
I don't mind CW era 1 and 3 but can't stand era 2 just because the premium op tanks there. I also love the true vision and the lack of it in ww2 just ruins ww2 in my opinion. I know it's for console proformance back in the day but should be removed now. All tanks should be visible at all times but once spotted and with a clear line of sight you can see their hp and make. (Arty would have to louse true vision while aimed in just to balance them against exploding true vision)
Then the tank outline system since it enables players to just rely on that system to shoot at a tank they can't physically see any other games and that system is borderline wall hack.
Finish the training missions to get the best era 1 tank. And pzb2. Ridiculous. I recently started a ps4 account and its stupidly easy to build up a decent garage. They are throwing premium tanks at you. On my main i played for ages till we had the chance to earn a prem. T8 motherland.
And that was a good premium addition. Not op or broken. It fit in well. Same with the next giveaway which was the CDC
T1 and T2 was taken out years ago. I still have mine and can still play them but since you cant even buy them anymore you only play against others that still have them or bots. Was a great way to complete certain ops but i don't think you can even do that anymore. And last time i played it, there was only one map in the cycle. The Mines map i think its called?

But Clone you are completely right. No teaching of mechanics,. Nothing about shells, about which they work. What is the difference between AP, Heat, Hesh an HE..... About angle, which are loosing pen while flying and which not.
Nothing about view mechanics. Which crew skills you should take first. Angeling, sidescrapping....
The different classes of tanks and what's there job on the battlefield. ..... And a lot more. .

They removed all T1's and 2's when they released coldwar. I bought back my first T20 US tank. Remember Provence? There I learned flanking, camo and coverage. I played the da*n map so many times, I was just kicking everybody n*ts almost every single time and nearly got bored of the game, then I realized I could upgrade to something else. I played a standard account, on xbox, with no gold account (there was a bug in the game allowing you to play multiplayer) and researched all the american tech tree like that... in about 2 years 🤣
So many Ghost shells, shells going through tanks as well. How about shells that hit the dirt 30 feet from tank when aimed properly. How about bounced on sides and rear of any tank with huge guns. How about bouncing on engine cover or rear of any tank. The coding in this game is pure Trash!!!!!!
Yep and that’s why we as veteran players call out the short falls and in some cases outright rigging by WOTC algorithms. I just played a game in my Hellcat, fully aimed at a tracked T34 in the open, first round went top right high over the rear deck by a few pixels, the next round went far left low into the dirt. Only shooting a 150 meters or so. With a fully experienced crew, 2 marked tank firing the 57 mm accurate gun. The game is a joke, it’s rigged to frustrate the players into playing more and more newer expensive premium tanks imo. Pure greedy game.

Which requires critical thinking to overcome. That’s what makes WWII so much fun. It’s a puzzle instead of Call of Duty with tanks.

Listen, I respect you and your opinions, but can you reasonably say most of the fan base hates Cold War, as you said some people like it, but personally from places such as Reddit, and discord, I feel as if it’s more like 50-50 at the very least. I personally enjoy it as I don’t need to worry about arty and the such, while having a different and faster play style which I like. Could you please just offer some evidence of your claim of “most” people hating Cold War? Such as a poll in either the Wotc Reddit or discord, I will eat my words if you can prove than 75% of players hate the mode as in my mind, that is “most”. As well as your argument of players coming for WW2 alone, I would not think so, as your claim that the advertising and trailers are for ww2 alone is also wrong, as WG’s console Team makes sure to advertise both WW2 and Cold War, as seen in all of their trailers, and especially in the game’s name of, “Modern armor”. And while I do agree that sending players into Cold War alone without giving them a choice is scummy, there’s definitely been worse done. Such as the removal of all tier 1 & 2 tanks, which tbf was done as their way of copying PC and mobile wot’s tech tree cleanup, and while it could’ve been handled a lot better, is not as bad as it could’ve been in my personal opinion (Blitz did it the worst, PC is tied with console imho). I am trying my best to be as reasonable as possible and just giving wargaming a fair shake, as in my opinion out of all three version Console wargaming is handling their game the best, with a battle pass that does not cost money, tech tree branches, tanks, and mechanics that have been requested for years, often offerings of free premium tanks, lots of free gold, pretty much recovering from the 6.0 disaster, being the most communicative with the community through their Q&As every week, and so on. But to be also fair they have done a lot of scummy things, such as the removal of T1 and T2 tanks, 6.0, The pushing of new players only into Cold War mode, really bad balancing with the AVRE, Cold War FV4005, Taran, ruthless, and also so on. But this has been my rant in what feels like an echo chamber, sorry for this but I feel as if some of these arguments are just in bad faith. (and to be clear I have not spent a single dime in WotC or any wot for that matter, and intend to keep it that way forever)
It’s a simple case of looking the the average players in queue and queue time. It will often take me 2-3 minutes to find a game in CW with there being usually around 15-25 players in queue. In WWII, I almost never see less than 60 and it only gets that low because of how quickly it puts you in a game. If we had to wait 2-3 minutes, there would be hundreds in the queue by then.
thank you for your reply! However that never seems to be the case with me? At most it takes a minute, and I usually see around 40-50 people in CW queues when I usually play. It may be a regional thing, or maybe it’s a time based thing?

It's because people who watch tik tok don't have the patience to learn everyone I've introduced want to skip straight to tier 6 where the cool tanks are and want to play it like call of duty where your tank is fast and does high alpha and earn max points that's exactly what cold war is remember older players know how to play most of them just camp good players aren't the majority most players are happy with yolo 5 shots I'm dead go again people are lazy you're not showing anyone anything new and younger players go instantly for meta and don't want to know about crew perks or anything else they'll play 5 game's solo or platoon and all go the same way and they don't like hand holding so what are they supposed to do I'd love to have the training maps back too but no played it accept a select few so war gaming got rid of it so make your mind up are you trying to make new players pro or do you want avalanche games tier 1&2 which no one plays or tier 6 where you make money and do you want 3 tiers where bottom tier dies or one up one down or over powered unbalanced premium skinned tanks you people hate and all buy or just standard grind boring brown tanks that make sense and are copy and paste here's an idea stfu and enjoy that game and be happy it's still alive after 9yrs idiots take what's given and play for fun instead of sweating and teach your mates how to play like a normal person 😉

I'm watching your current video I had to stop because you are insufferable I'm not trying to be judgemental but consider this(1)have you ever played Blitz,I'm assuming they think you have therefore what's the point it's basically all Yolo up to tier 4 that's when you start learning the real mechanics&tank handling because when you get to tier 5 things slow down when it comes to grinding take the M4 for example you know the grind(2)realize this is a business the primary function is to make money having said all of this follow you're on advice,adapt,improvis,overcome I watched your vid yesterday hey it's okay I'm frustrated to.peace

Imagine that...seal clubbing new players! What do you suppose those new players will do now? Keep grinding and dying or pull out the credit card and try to buy their way into winning? You're actually showing us that you're a part of the problem...next week these seals will be on your tier 10 team! You're not as wise as you pretend be young man!
