  • A volunteer police officer told a Christian singer that she was 'not allowed to sing church songs outside of church grounds' - before sticking her tongue out at her.
Gospel singer Harmonie London regularly performs worship music to passing shoppers on Oxford Street and has more than 300,000 subscribers on UA-cam.
But she was stopped by a Metropolitan Police special constable and told: 'No miss, you're not allowed to sing church songs outside of church grounds, by the way.'
In the viral video, the officer continued to insist that she could not sing 'outside of church grounds unless you have been authorised by the church to do these kind of songs'.
TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer, joined by former government special adviser Claire Pearsall, blasted the volunteer police officer for the controversial incident.

  • @colinmiller8361

That fact that officer is still in her position is a twisted joke .

  • @seankingsirtarquin6412

I have absolutely no respect for police now. Bunch of clowns.

  • @loveonly000

don't need police like this on our streets

  • @brianrolley5018

This is not UK law, this is an ignorant police officer who has made up legislation off the top of her head, which is dangerous.

  • @pragmaticobserver1592

The irony of a Bulgarian immigrant telling the singer, Harmonie London that she cant sing :church songs outside of church makes me wonder what will happen to us who sing Christmas Carols outside of church

How can they send someone out to enforce the law of this country when they have no idea what the law is? A measure of where we are I think.

  • @Collioure232

She stood there and literally just made a law up out of thin air to justify her actions. Absolutely terrifying what has happened to our country

Thing is she was a voluntary police officer. She wasn't getting paid, nor trained in any way in the law. How she can then "enforce" the law is crazy to me.

Somewhat disturbed by the policeman behind her, who did absolutely nothing....

Unpaid volunteer is one sure way to attract Karens who crave power.

Is this the best we can come up with for our police force? Disgusting she wasn’t dismissed for this!

The Chief Constable should be sued under civil law for failing to put competent police on the streets. They have a duty of car to make sure their officers are legally competent, that is both qualified and extensively experienced.

Truly, I sit and weep at times at what my beloved country has become, it breaks my heart and I'm glad I'm old and won't be around much longer.

Why didn't her handler try to reel her in?
