We all have our flaws, but that doesn't make us less worthy of who we are. I've also dealt with depression and anxiety, and I still do, so I can understand what you all are going through.I know you may not believe this, but there are people who care about you and love you. I may not know everyone in the comment section, but it breaks my heart to see how many people are struggling with themselves. Sooner or later it will get better. This song describes me... I've always felt ugly, worthless, unwanted and like I didn't deserve to live. People have told me I'm ugly because I'm a bigger girl. Every time someone complimented me I thought they were lying because of what others told me. I got tired of being called ugly and fat so I cut... then I stopped eating for a while. I always thought about killing myself because I felt ugly and worthless... like nobody could ever love someone like me.
I was wrong though. I deserve to live, I'm worth it, people do love me and I'm f*cking beautiful. This song made me realize that. I cry every time I hear this song because of how I felt for the 15 years I've been alive.

It's because most girls(that I know) think that wearing make-up and getting surgery is good. They think it is perfectly fine because it "builds confidence" which is so depressing. I was bullied, suicidal, wanting to run away and I am schizophrenic and people make fun of me because of that but I learned not to hear their empty words and when the bullies are calling you names, they are just empty words. You are not defined by other people's opinions. Believe me, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. This feeling of hurt, betrayal etc. is just temporary even if it doesn't seem like it. I believe in you to make it through this, you are never alone! I dealt with what you guys had to deal with as well, its not easy but that doesn't mean its impossible to overcome this obstacle. Keep fighting, it will be worth it. You will look back and be so glad you didn't give up. I learned suicide isn't the answer, why would you want to make the bullies win? Don't die now, you are living for someone even if it doesn't seem like it. You are someone's reason to smile. Die happily and as a champion. But now isn't the time to give up, now is the time to get up, dust yourself off, grab your armor, and fight. All your suffering will be over soon. Don't give in to evil ever.

I actually wanted to sing this song with a couple of friends and I did when I got up on stage I was tough 💪 about it because there would allways be bullies at my school I plus I had some special kids at my school and a group of girls will push them around and kick them when I saw that I was sad for those kids😓 but when I tryed to talk to them they didn't want to talk to me because they said that they were victims to them and instead of talking to them I sang a song at the school talent show so I sang ♪♫♬♪♫♬♪it and I saw them cry😢😢😢 and teachers cry but I wanted them to get that they are beautiful
Mariana Mercado I totally understand! I actually did something similar to that. I made a group full of me and my friends,and told them to take up for the obese child in our class. I always felt bad for him bc the other people that I 'thought' were my friends, we're bullying him. So what I did waz that if anybody in my little group saw anyone bullying him, to take up for him. He had 0% confidence in him, he told me everything that had been happening at his home and it isn't good....he gets abused at home already😰😭😭😭. So it's not that I felt bad for him....it's just the fact that I hate it when bullies treat ppl with obesity and special needs horribly.......sooooo yes. He wasn't in a good situation at all. I tried to help him all that I could.....but he said it waz no use bc he waz already overdosing and trying to kill himself. 😨😔☹️😿

I’m so glad Alessia Cara has made this song, it’s very inspirational to girls (and to some boys) who are battling bullies and depression and who hate themselves because they are fat, this sends a message to all of those people and it shows them they can be themselves and to hate not God for making you like that, everyone has a different perspective on life, a different point of view, and a different way of doing things. And me, I blamed God for making me like this, I’m kinda fat and I once got bullied by my fake friend, she called me, “10% fat and 90% ugly” I didn’t hear that, but 3 of my friends heard it. I wanted to cry and blame God for making me fat, but when I hear this song it makes me happy and wants to make me cry for joy, I am now happy for who I am, not someone somebody else wanted me to be, and how I should eat. I am still kinda fat but I think it just makes me unique. I also have skin sensitivity but I just care how I want to wear, not what somebody else wants me to wear, I am not afraid to wear the same things over and over again and get bullied for it. I am not bullied for being fat anymore, and I know there is no chance Alessia Cara would see this, but, thank you for making this.

I think sometimes people just need to hear these kind of songs rather than the rude comments society decides is ok to say. Instead of degrading each other why can't we be like this? I mean one single compliment or nice word can lift someone's spirits ten fold.

Hey, it is a legitimate question. You can't say everyone is beautiful without knowing everyone. It's such a generic statement usually used by UA-camrs to try and make their fans think they actually care and love them, but you have to remember, they are like prostitutes, they'll give you enjoyment and a good time... as long as you pay them.

See now it doesn't look like a five year old wrote that comment. But it does still look like a 12 year old wrote it since you clearly still think facts are hating.
I am not hating, I have had hard times for the majority of my life, and I still do at times. A comment like that from a random stranger didn't help me, want to know why? Because I look at that comment and the 200 more and can't help but think, 'Wow... these people are doing this just for the likes from 12 year old who don't know what it's like to have a hard time.'
The thing is, is that hard times for most people who liked the comment means them failing a test, getting grounded, or breaking up with a boy/girl (gay is okay) you dated for 2 days.
Even for the few people that liked it that aren't 12, the good majority of the time it is for dumb reasons like the others. And their hard times aren't so bad when you look at the fact they have a nice computer/phone to watch the video on, a warm bed they're watching this on, a nice shower they can use whenever they want, a full fridge with snacks, food, and drinks. All things that some people wish that they had.
Instead of making a generic comment, maybe say, hey, at least you aren't starving to death in Africa or dying of a disease . And if said person is starving to death with a fridge full of food, you still can't say anything, that person is voluntarily starving his/herself.
The thing that helped me get through me 'hard' times was thinking about that and realizing that I have a nice life.

It is a legitimate question. The comment is so generic and loosely said that you can make anything from it. The person said that EVERYONE is beautiful in their own ways. It is a innocent comment but he is implying that everyone who ever lived and is still living are beautiful. Even the people I mentioned in my comment.
If the person said "If you are going through rough times, know that you are beautiful and people love you" That would be a bit better (And more to what your comment implied) but it still could be interpreted in the way I said.

Realize that I am not hating on the person, I am only asking questions and pointing out the flaws in the comment. I get it, people go through shit, but a comment on a UA-cam video that has been done 100 times before, is like the 'First' comments. Some of my classmates have been using me lately. I got bullied a few years ago because I wasn't pretty. I don't have confidence, I never think I'm pretty, even with makeup. They used me because my best friend is one of the populars, and they think if they loose me they will loose her because they know she will stay by me. I don't care if I'm popular or not, because my teacher doesn't like students who are like that. I'm one of her favorites and they are jealous of that, so they try to make me popular so that they can become her favorites but it's not going to work. I don't think I'm pretty, but idc what other people say about me
I'm not skinny, the best feature about me is my blue eyes, but I have gray-blue eyes, but my brother has a beautiful ocean blue, and my family and friends say how beautiful and rare his eyes are and they don't like my eyes. That brings my confidence down, a lot.
