Orbiter Simulator - Remembering Buran (HD)

"Remembering Buran" A video tribute for the soviet space shuttle program Buran and the powerful Energia rocket, similar to the US Shuttle in aspect but in technology it is better that the american spacecraft.
Simulation using Orbiter Space Flight Simulator, recreating the shuttle Buran at Baikonur Cosmodrome, then flying on top of the biggest airplane ever, Antonov 225, the rollout to the launch complex, a OK-GLI fly test or Buran Analog and finally, Buran on the launch pad and the lift off, like 1988 historic launch and orbit maneuvers.

kinda hard to argue about russian versus american space exploration, russia was first to launch a satellite, first to put a man in space so lets respect that, our space program is pretty much grounded now so american astronauts can only go to space as cosmonauts now ha ha - but hey, is this video from a game simulation?

Energija can fly without Buran..
The Shuttle stack can't fly without the orbiter.. or they need to do a lot of development..
Next thing is, Energija has liquid boosters, not solid ones..(Today the first stage of the Zenit-rockets)

Buran's problem was not cost effective. The ENERGIA rocket was expensive to produce and launch and it alone could launch all the cargo into Space Buran could carry making the Shuttle redundant. It was a nice solution in search of a problem.

americans shuttles are better
