I worked for the legendary Badfinger and we lived in Minneapolis. When Jellyfish played First Avenue, they had Joey Molland come up and they played NO MATTER WHAT together. Jellyfish SHOULD'VE neen one of the biggest bamds ever. I miss them.
My description of Jellyfish was always "a Beatles/Queen/ELO mash-up while occasionally borrowing Supertramp's keyboardist." BTW, even if the audio sucks, you should listen to some of their live performances just to marvel at how tightly they could reproduce those harmonies live.
We will add this to the list! Be sure to subscribe to our channel - it helps us reach our goals and also you won't miss our next video (which we publish every day) - cheers
One reason why Jellyfish imploded just as it looked like they were getting some recognition is Andy Sturmer (the standy-uppy-drummer-singer guy) became very uncomfortable being in the public spotlight. In fact to my knowledge he has not granted a public interview since 1993. But yeah, he sure kept busy behind the scenes at Cartoon Network through the 2000s and 2010s where he basically wrote the soundtrack to Gen Z's childhood.
Thank you so much for the insight, Guy de Loimbard - Don't forget to let us know YOUR favorite artist and song that YOU'D like for us to react to NEXT - and we hope that we earned a subscription from you :) Every single one helps - thanks!
Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (keyboards) went on to Imperial Drag, Lickerish Quartet (current band) and solo albums - he's still coming out with music in 2022, I think. I listened to Jason Faulkner without knowing he was also a former member...
Likkerish Quartet released a new album recently, you like Jellyfish--you'll like LQ. Former Jellyfish members Eric Dover(guitar) and Tim Smith(bass) are reunited in the band with Roger Manning(keyboards) for almost complete reunion.
Have loved this band since I picked up their first album on tape in 1990. Wish i could have seen them live. Nearly exploded with delight at a Spotify notification last year that said there was new music from Jellyfish. Turned out to be a different Jellyfish entirely. Never going to happen.. 🤣The drum fill that's at about 4:16 in this video is maybe my favourite second of drumming ever.
Favorite band of mine since 1990. Most professional studios use their Split Milk album to tune the acoustics and set their dials in order to get it right.
Thank you so much for your input! We hope that we've earned your channel subscription (every single one counts) and we may react to that song by Jellyfish in the future
We need to do more Jellyfish reacts for sure. Great band. Make sure you have hit that subscribe button, get notified about all our new content coming out daily!
So sick seeing the head bobs to this. Got to be some of the greatest production from the 90s, i believe Jack Joseph puig co produced. This band really lead me down a rabbit hole of power pop, going into Jason Faulkner and Eric Matthews. Would love for you guys to react to Eric Matthews…massively underrated and Faulkner played on some of his records. Anyways loved the video cheers!
EJ loves Jellyfish, Jason Faulkner and Eric Matthews. Have you every listened to Eric Matthews band Cardinal? Not bad at all. :) We have more Jellyfish coming and Definitely plan to do some Jason Faulkner and Eric Matthews for sure.
I forgot to mention that I love the song you guys were playing after that the end. You all are really talented! I love music and have you guysheard of Starcrawler? Amazing stuff, very Jack White and the vocalist sounds like Courtney Love. Also, Death from Above '79 is a two piece (drumer & bassist) from Canada. Not nearly as good as Royal Blood but, they're pretty good and how about Fleet Foxes or The Skulls? Also John Fullbright (Satan and St Paul) and also Wild Bille, they are a brother/ sister duo who is I think brilliant. Really look forwarded to your next show guys!
I couldn't agree more with all your thoughts. I love Jellyfish and the record company dropped the ball and I think they chose the wrong songs for Letterman and Later with Jools Holland. Just my opinion ...
“Greatest band you’ve never heard”
EXACTLY
As impressive as these guys were live, the real story is their impeccably crafted/produced studio recordings.
I just found this song this year, and god damn am I psyched about it.
Thanks for checking out our video!!!!!! We publish new videos every single day - so stay tuned!!!

Thank you, Guy! We really agree

I think Andy was very controlling with the song writing in the band as well.

Their demos were impeccable, hard pressed to tell the difference between them and the records

Don’t forget Roger Manning who co wrote all those fabulous songs

It’s a shame they only made two albums.
Y'all should def react to "Ignorance is bliss" by Jellyfish!

@@galaxyjams Hell yeah! Can't wait - and yes, I love Cardinal. Their song Dream Figure is in my weekly rotation. Cheers!
The songwriting was very much a collaboration between Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning Jr.

C’mon!! Studio version please!!
Your opinion on Pulp, Supergrass, the good Oasis tunes sung by Noel and other 90’s stuff would be interesting!
We really appreciate your recommendation! thank you so much! we will consider reacting to this in the future
