@@terminalius same, but the moment Ace and Driftor found some kind of sbmm I threw the idea of a good kda out of the window. Currently sitting on a 0.97 kda and haven't even leved the M4 to lvl 10.
My advice. (Console players) 1. Consider changing your control scheme to tactical, this allows you to use the right stick to adjust your stance. And lets you dropshot. (Going prone while firing). As a beginner you aren’t expected to master this, but its easier to learn the habit sooner than change it later after months of using the buttons differently. 2. Begin memorizing the maps. This game is all about map awareness. There are areas in every map that are just incredibly dangerous. Knowing where they are and where you can and cannot move safely is key. This varies based on gamemode of course but as a general rule you’ll notice high traffic areas or ones people are always watching. Which leads us to... 3. Playing “tactically” this game is campy by nature. Don’t hole up in a single building all game. But DO recognize what areas are best for locking down sight lines/firing lines. Get a few kills and use dead silence to relocate to another area to lockdown (depending on spawn changes or objective moving). To do this you have to always have a situational awareness of where your team is and where their team is likely to be. All of which you’ll learn in time. But start trying to learn from the very beginning. 4. Lastly, practice your reaction time. I don’t care how old you are, you can always work to improve your reaction speed. Your split second decision making skills and reaction time are what decides who lives and who dies in this game. Good luck out there.
dropshotting is probably really good against bad players, but youre literally handing headshots to anyone who aims at center mass. With the headshot multipliers in this game, its not as good as it used to be.
@oREEEanna True. Jumping is also helpful. Probably more so than drop shotting. However I find with a regular controller it is extremely difficult to jump and aim in the time required. I personally find drop shotting to help my survival rates. If only because it can and will throw off the other person’s aim. But yes, you do risk getting headshotted.
CcfGamer 101 yes, bumper jumper tactical is the best. Tactical and melee are less important than jumping and prone/sliding in situations where you need to react quickly while aiming. It took a bit to get used to, but it helps a lot

Something I found that helps with mounting is changing your settings so you double-tap the ADS button to mount instead, makes it much easier and quicker to get in and out of.
In your settings menu you can adjust it. I have it set to double tapping ads and not canceled on movement. That way I don't unmount by accident and it's super easy to get into mount without doing anything that might mess with your aim like hitting a button or clicking your aiming stick.

To the new players: There is Skill Based Match Making. If you're camping for a good Kill/Death ratio, you will be matched to way better players soon and your k/d will drop by a lot. So simply have fun and play smart instead.

It’s weird but after buying the nikto bundle I’ve been having amazing lobbies all night. Since launch I’ve gone negative the majority of the time, but now it’s like the people in my matches are blind.
If I’m run and gunning I don’t really bother worrying about hiding the laser because usually I’m sprinting and the laser isn’t showing anyway. But in tactical matches like SnD I found myself getting smoked by people seeing my laser so I started hiding it by being off center as well. I think it works really well.
My #1 tip for u beginners is do NOT play the “Shoot The Ship” playlist or Shipment or Shoothouse this is full of sweats and partys it can be very annoying if ur not that good at the game
