  • In partnership with Citizens Energy Group, #IFD Swift Water Rescue Tactical Teams 7 & 14 along with Top Water Tactical Team 9 used the incredible opportunity to train at the Eagle Creek Reservoir Dam... utilizing a controlled gate opening, to replicate swift water conditions. The afternoon session got a special visitor when IFD Chief Malone stopped by.
The teams are using the training, conducted across all 3 shifts, to introduce basic swift water rescue skills to new personnel and to reinforce the importance of skill proficiency to those who have been on the teams for some time. The evolutions included ‪Victim Contact, Self Rescue, Shallow Water Crossing & Rope Bag Throwing.
The long standing partnership between the IFD, specifically the IFD Special Operations Division and Citizens Energy is invaluable as we continue to seek training opportunities that realistically mimic the types of rescue scenarios we are often dispatched on.
From Confined Space, High and Low Angle Rope Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Top Water and Dive...our partners at Citizens Energy have helped us keep pace with the ever changing training dynamics, required of our personnel, by allowing us to utilize their properties for training.
On the flip side and when asked, the Special Ops Division has worked with Citizens personnel to train them on self rescue skills for scenarios they may encounter during the course of their work. #TrainingMatters ‬ #EachOthersKeeper
