I grew up a few blocks from this park. In the 50's and 60's this was my playground.

The park also had a caged lion in the late 60's. It had lots if picnic tables, old school swing-sets, slides, sandboxes still in the late 90's. And don't forget the public swimming pool and the small baseball field facing Summit St.

When I was about 5 years old my parents would take me ice skating on the pond in front of the gazebo. I believe we still have a picture of me on the pond. I love that park!

Everyone used to skate on the lagoon in front of the pavilion and there was an old heater inside to warm up by when you got cold.

Great little tribute to a beautiful park! In the early 1970s when I was a little girl, my mom and I sometimes picked up McDonald's and took it to eat on the hill by the lake. I remember feeding French fries to the squirrels there. LOL

Sam, thank you for doing this. I no longer live in Elgin, but I do get back home on occasion. Lord's Park is always one of the first places I visit. Having grown up in Elgin it was my go to place every summer swimming at the pool. Again thank you for this video it brought back good memories.

Do one on Wing Park... Never mind it's a crap hole 🕳 now.. It's an embarrassment to Elgin.

I’ve done a film on Wing Park as-well. I’ve always preferred Lord’s over Wing
