    The word "sorry" isn't only simple but useful when I want to remain polite. Plus, it's also important to learn both polite & rude words & expressions. Anyway, thanks for sharing a great English lesson! I still need your great help for my English!

    I used "what?" once when I was talking with the people in our first meeting. I didn't know that it's rude. Thank you for making this vdo.

    • @aslan9334

      Am no expert but "what" is informal

  • @anthonymaggiore4268
    @anthonymaggiore4268 6 років тому

    I had a friend who, when she didn't quite catch what you said, would simply say "Please?" with a slight movement of the head and the same kind of upward inflection as you describe for "sorry." To me that sounded both warm and inviting, yet polite and cool, at the same time - possibly because it was so different from what I was used to hearing and yet refreshingly apt for the situation.

    I love this video. I communicate with a lot of leaders and non- leaders at work, and it's really hard for me to say "sorry" and "please" all the time. Additionally, the word sorry doesn't even exist in my languages, so that makes it even harder for me to use the word. I've had good and bad practices on using both words and I still struggle with it today. I feel like I need to work on this, as well as my tone, and delivery. Thank you.
