The same reason a lot of us do....he's media hype more than substance and fan boys under 35, that don't remember the game a generation ago, think this is the only great player to ever live....but to be fair the media and NBA marketing has created a lot of that, so it's not really young fans fault, entirely. But it is frustrating for people like me that have to constantly hear about LJ and pretend that it doesn't get annoying. He is great, but far, far, far from greatest ever. I don't think he's cracked top 5 yet.

The only thing he doesn't do well is shoot, but based on the people he named(example, magic) that must not be a huge setback. Especially because he does everything else really well. You can say he isn't the greatest but far, far,far from it is just dumb. Plus you can use this same argument on people who think MJ can't be touched. I can say that it is just old guys who are mad that there is actually a guy who can compare. Plus isn't MJ media hype? He is positioned as this God like figure and is easily the biggest athlete ever. It's not like Mj's numbers are way better than Lebron's. Plus Lebron is probably better all around than MJ. So is Mj just media hype?

He is the finals. Wade isn't even mentioned in this conversation because of not just the injuries, but what did Wade win without another top 10 player? Last I remember the Heat were a lottery team before James got there. James has a resume that while it includes losses, combines the best of the top 10 players of alltime.

It's funny to watch how Skip always brings up LeBron's failures while completely ignores the others. Did LeBron have failures in his career? Of course he did! And so did MJ, Magic, Bird and Kareem. If you want to talk about failures, then how about MJ not beating one single great team in playoffs? He was a first rounder until Scottie Pippen came to Bulls, got swept by Celtics two years in a row! He could barely get wins against The Bad Boys era of Pistons. Then he got Pippen, after that Rodman and as the teams of 80's era faded away, Bulls became dominant with their easily the best roster in the league.
I'm not trying to belittle MJ's career; but he had failures as well. Larry Bird, an incredible player he was, with only 13 seasons in his career and half of them were cursed with injuries. LeBron is 31 and has already played 100 more matched than Bird. How can anyone, on their right mind name Bird over LeBron?
And Tim Duncan. I like Duncan, he easily is the best PF in the NBA history; but come on, don't overrate him THAT much! He's nowhere near a top 5 player; and definently not over LeBron. I think it's even arguable Duncan was better than Garnett. I mean Garnett was a better scorer, a better passer, a surprisingly good free throw shooter and he was just as good as Duncan on the defensive side.

Skip says Spurs was to rattled to win game 7? that team was 4-0 in the finals and has 1 of the Best coaches in all of sports.. Spurs choked in game 6 and got beat by Lebron in game 7

Most of Lebron's points come from in the painted area ( which is great) but he is not a better basketball player than Kobe. Also for me championships is all dictated in the system you plan in and how well that system runs. All great dynasty basketball teams were built on systems that optimized the great talent that they had and went on to win again and again like clockwork. However, lebron is top 10 in my book. He may be alot higher in yours, It's all preference.
