@CarlD2 i thought the gay domestic storyline has been BRILLIANTLY written, and even better acted! those 2 have been one of the most compelling storylines on the show. the silas murders were were also the most compelling, and now that's really reaching fever pitch now that brendan's involved in it too.

Too bad they wouldn't ask any questions about just how badly written the gay domestic violence story has been, and the bad messages it sends out.

Oh, I totally agree with you there. I've been more than a little disturbed by the comments expressing support for the dysfunctional and abusive relationship between Brendan and Ste.
@CarlD2 They wouldn't bring that up, because then it wouldn't be "hot enough" AND a "downer" for the viewers that believe that the Brendan/Ste abuse storyline is an "epic love story". We've got to remember that we've got to placate soap opera viewers at all times.

I look at as being more of a storyline about domestic abuse where the victim's judgement is affected by his "love" for the abuser.
@ravenscheer23 i disagree with you both i think the brendan/ste storylines is one of the most intersting story told on a soap i give big ups too the hollyoaks writers for having the balls to go were no other soap would go.i'm from the u.s. i watch shows like oprah and 20/20 they talk about this topic i think it's important for people to see it's not just girl/women who get abuse and manipulated.
i look at a soap like gh the writers think the only way a male can be abuse by another male is to go too prison.i know men get abuse in jail,but that micheal storyline was like a cliche like saying "micheal your to young and cute to go to jail" i saw the rape storyline comin from a mile away. the bren/ste i know what was goin happen only because i came late to the story,but when i watch from the start how the story unfold it look to true to life how someone can manipulate a person "powerful".
wasnt Jorgie supposed to do the plea thing at the end...?
@0Passionate0 Well, you certainly made hugyface's point for them. No violence within abusive relationship is "about" the victim. It is always about the abuser and their own self hatred. It is twisted how all of you Brenden/Ste fan's constantly cheer for them to stay together despite the fact that the actors have repeated over and over in interviews that Brenden is a sociopath and that the storyline is meant to call attention to the problem of domestic abuse.
