from what i remember the beam is part of the suit so it cant be taken off. And she moves her hand inside the canon when using it as a interface with Chozo tech and computers. Anything not chozo she pushes buttons with her left hand.
Not in any official games, but I remember hearing that early in the design process of Fusion, the idea was that the cannon folded back into a gauntlet to allow her to use both hands. It was supposedly scrapped late into development, which is why there're ladders and bars to hang from all over that game. I always assumed she just had to make the gesture to switch because shes pushing buttons or touchpads inside the canon itself to tell it to reconfigure, then places her hand back to "firing" position like it is in Prime 3
The first time i had played metroid prime i had wondered why the hand patterns on the beams were so weird, then i saw that the chozo in prime only have 3 fingers and a thumb
I never knew till playing the Remaster that Samus changes finger signs everytime she uses a knew beam, and the only way I found out was using the X-Ray and seeing her fingers change while fighting the ghost Chorizos
I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I LOL'd at "ghost Chorizos." 🤣 Thank you. I've been calling the Chozo Ruins the "Chozone layer" of the map since elevators seem to go up to it.
It’s funny because even with the notice to detail being used Samus isn’t using the correct hand signs for each beam. She’s only using 3 hand signs when there should be 4. Ice beam and Plasma beam are sharing a hand sign in game when they should look different. Also the in game Ice Beam and Power beam hand symbol should be switched
I remember seeing the hand shapes in x-ray visor back on the original game. Seems odd from above with just how far her arm reaches into the cannon, her hands practically in the beam barrel 😂
Y’know it kinda bothers me because if I was Samus I would be paranoid that I would accidentally change gestures and switch my gun. Also some of those positions look painful to hold for a long period of time. And I need to know, how does she shoot beams in the first place if her hand has to remain in that position?
You know the big discourse is over how her shoulders fit into the suit, but people rarely stop to think how here arm cannon really works. Like Mega Man is an easy mental adjustment cause he's a robot through and through, the entire hand could disassemble, but for Samus that gun is about the same length as her forearm. she's got maybe 5 inches from finger tip to barrel opening. Does all the mechanics happen around her arm and then get transferred and condensed into the tip before release? How do missiles work in every non-prime game where they are clearly metal and solid? Outside of Prime I'd be willing to believe its similar to Morphball tech, in that her arm doesn't "exist" inside the cannon and gets energized into some condensed form, but Prime shows an arm (unless thats a psychological trick the suit uses to comfort her? Like her arm isn't really there but the visor shows where it "should" be so she doesn't freak out. Kind of like hands in VR)
"It's amazing the level of detail put in this game". Seriously? Because a simple hand gesture inside a ugly cylinder? Have you ever played any recent first person shooter? Hands/reloads gestures and guns animations in any recent shooter for PCs or newer consoles have 10x more details than this.

@@Dinaaa313as somebody playing Prime Remastered, it actually happens with the x ray visor, it's so cool
@@TheOneWhoAskedForYourOpinion Damn I didn't notice that ! :D
Is it only in the original aswell ?
Also when you fire, you can see her doing a "pulling the trigger" kind of movement with her fingers
The Shocker
It's too bad they didn't use that hand sign for the wave beam lmao
Samus gives you the shocker. Now what?
You know you were thinking it...
@@Insipid_Xerxes xD Thanks for calling that out lmao I forgot how to say the name

This would be perfect for the VR mod
This has always been one of my favorite details about Metroid Prime.
I like how wave beam is her hand in the position it would be for waving at someone
ICE BEAM 🤘🤘🤘
Loved making the beam hand signs as a kid.
..... The hand cramps must be horrendous
Mad respecc for samus
Y’know it kinda bothers me because if I was Samus I would be paranoid that I would accidentally change gestures and switch my gun. Also some of those positions look painful to hold for a long period of time. And I need to know, how does she shoot beams in the first place if her hand has to remain in that position?
What bothers me is that her having her hand in this position constantly is gonna give her horrible carpal tunnel lmao
I literally can't believe they bothered this tiny detail
the Omega Cannon is just the middle Finger, for everyone who wonders
The fucking amount of detail in this game man, no one would ever even see this yet they still modeled it???
Wow her hand was actually animated. I hope some one make a 3rd person version.
...imagine if they decided to screw with us and giving hyper beam but having it being the bird
Such an awesome detail
