In what world is it better, I’m curious. Look up “Raystorm vs Layer Section 2” comparison by Retro Spirits Gaiden. Skip to around 6:55 and watch when ship flies over bridges. Ps clearly jerks, when Saturn is silky smooth.
In the world I just played them both in buddy. Both versions are great but the PlayStation version maintains a constantly better framerate throughout the game. This was on real hardware too not emulated.
Better & cheaper sums it up 👊🏻never played Raystorm on Ps,was good to see the comparison so nicely done and i still enjoy Saturn tbh but ps version is superior by the looks of it for me🤘✌️
Yeah man the PlayStation version was hands down the better game here in terms of performance and price. But the Saturn version despite it's framerate issues is still a rather impressive port. Glad you enjoyed it pal, Stay Sexy!
I never really got into layer section 2 but loved the original on the Saturn, thinking about it their are only a few 3d shooters that I like definitely prefer 2D
The first game is a much better than this I agree mate. But for me this game just has a certain charm to it. Maybe it's the catchy music or just my nostalgia for the game itself. It's no Radiant Silvergun but a good shooter even despite it's shortcomings.
I got RayStorm on PS1 jpn now but bitd I had Layer 2... both excellent games, but like it's already been said Layer Section/ Galactic Attack is the superior experience - better for being a 2D shooter maybe? Nice share 👍
Galactic Attack being a 2D shooter was definitely an advantage at the time. Early 3D shmups just didn't seem to have the speed or fluidity of a 2D shooter. Thanks for watching 👍

@@NottsGamer “buddy”? Sheesh. Chill out.
Yeah buddy as in mate, pal, firend. I meant nothing bad by it. Sorry if it read that way.
