Jarboe once penpaled me w a bunch of clips live in europe etc unfortunately it went up in a tornado with all my life's precious valuables ps it was a handmade VHS w her own handwriting :(
I didn't even know those songs had promo videos! Too bad no higher quality recordings of them seem to exist at all. Thank you VERY MUCH, whoever uploaded this! 🖤
I discovered Swans in 1989 and got to see them live the first time in 1995. To me their best period was 1987-1995. I regret never having heard New Mind, Miracle of Love etc live. They never seem to play old songs, only current ones and songs off the next cd.
I would marry her on the spot. It's not just her physique or her looks; her personality, her voice, her laugh and her presence are stunning. Lights up the room.
Soundtracks for the Blind is the greatest album ever recorded. Burning World was... not good. But I love seeing footage from the olde time when mtv interviewed actual artists.
I dig the burning world I don't care what you say, the one part I'll say is not good is the chorus on Jane Mary cry one tear, srsly wtf were they thinking lmao, but even then Jane Mary has a great verse and instrumental
at the end when the host mentions the "Young Gods" coming on and Gira has that little look on his face...Young Gods got their name from a Swans EP
And the ignorant host probably didn't even know that!
Aphex twin
Paul King was not ignorant and a great presenter @@koollegged5739
michael gira has aged like fine wine. thank you michael gira.

Yes, it's true- MTV once had not only music, but GOOD music, and underground music too.
when MTV was really about music, I remember...
Such a coool sounding voices such cool instrumental... just So So So Coooool
Thanks for posting this. For me, this MTV special was the start of following the Swans.

They were fab on this tour. Not the same intensity as the mid-80s... But still memorable and well worth the admission.
Jarboe is absolutely beautiful.

Daniel Echávarri there needs to be more people like Jarboe and Gira, creative and smart to the core

Strange how wrong u are
The Burning World was amazing.
burning world was not good for swans standards, but certainly better than a lot of music.

I hated this cover. The B Side is excellent!
God that JD cover is terrible
I agree, they butchered it.
Hilarious seeing Michael sort of wince when the interviewer said he was about to play that one
i enjoyed it
I think its better than the original
Jarboe's version is excellent but I like MG version too.
