A few points from my side. 1. we need to look why your flight estimations are not working. 2. adjust your artifical horizon to be higher on the screen, will make orientation easier. 3. your RSSI drip may be caused by the position of the receiver. I think the signal was going through some electronics at this moment 4. if I get the tracker running, so you want one too?
@@MarcFPV As you can see I am checking out new flying spots for your visit and stockpiling the beer :-) Yes I am moving the receiver out onto the wing despite my OCD for wanting everything aligned :-) I would welcome some help with the flight estimations. Hopefully I will solve the elevon issue this afternoon and get out for a test flight.
@@bluefish3607 The Estimation thing should be an easy thing. The one in my talon GT is working now but i have to recalibrate it when i found the perfect cruise throttle. Still testing around but only can hardly find time to fly it.
Great flight. As a long range pilot I wanted to warn you about the video going black and “tearing” on the left side of screen but you are already aware of that. I had a problem with just one strand of wire in a video cable making contact and the video was bad all the way back from 20km. I ended up buying expensive RCA cables.
That was down to my Fatshark goggles having some loose connection inside and it used to really annoy me. I have switched to DJI Googles now and their Analogue input is fantastic with much superior quality and DVR recording.
I'm glowing green with envy!! what kind of Video transmitter are you using?? I mean I know you are flying on a place without floor noise... but that is ridiculous!! for 5.8 Ghz!!
I am running the AKK FX2 Ultimate but the 150mm triple patch antenna has also made a big difference as well. Lets see how it does at 15km out which is my next mission :-)
I set RTH before I arm and Autolaunch and then the plane will fly up to the set loiter height and circle you until you are ready to take control and fly.
Hi BlueFish! Stunning video! How are you liking the dart xl now with your experience? I have heard mixed reviews so far but you seem to have tested it properly now. Also regarding the servo jittering: did the antenna placement help to get rid of it? I am also having some occasional jiftering with my AR mini wing. All the best Frank
Thank you, I am loving the Dart XL it really is an amazing plane, especially for cruising and long range. It is not a super fast race plane for throwing around the sky and doing acrobatics though. Most of the negative comments have been about the nose being delicate and breaking easily but this is not an issue if you reinforce it and / or fly it sensibly. Once you get the Autolaunch setup and iNav tuned correctly, it flies really well and apart from that it's a really cool looking plane. I hope that helps, it's just my opinion of course.
Yes it was and after that flight I found an issue with the left servo after a previous crash and have replaced it so hopefully it will track straight on launch and not dip to the left.
1:07 - GO PRO ! START VIDEO ! Classic ! Lolz love your work. 1😇
Great video Glenn. That’s what it’s all about. Nice forward planning on camera angle on ground station to allow for overlays later. Subbed. 👍
Thanks Davy, loving your work as well so have subbed to keep up to date with your future flights and adventures.
Love it - sharing your not turning on the GoPro experience.
Even super pro pilots get it wrong sometimes :-)
Great flying love the video good job man
I can't wait to see you again, next time in the UK! :)

Enjoyed the video. I'm just about to build one of these.
They are a great plane. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine 👍
Would love to see a walkthrough of your ground station setup
I can do that next time I fly there is not much to it but if you would find it interesting then happy to help.

BlueFish Thanks I am wanting to get the DJI goggles myself for the same reasons.
Nice!
Looking forward to setting my launch like that !! After some fuselage mods of course..
Thx. Share.😊

24:12 “Nothing like the AR Wing. “. Sure looks like a ZOHD Dart XL
Yep thats what I said nothing like an AR Wing which is my proximity plane and handles nothing like the Dart XL :-)
What are the steps to get it to auto takeoff then loiter around home? Just set autotakeoff and RTH at the same time then launch?
I set RTH before I arm and Autolaunch and then the plane will fly up to the set loiter height and circle you until you are ready to take control and fly.
9:00 To the right of the screen you can see a fire. The smoke is moving away from you.
is it a smoother flier than the ar wing?
Yes the Dart XL is much more of a cruiser for sure and flies extremely smoothly especially if you are gentle on the sticks.

@@bluefish3607 awesome many thanks for the info!
How do you get all this telemetry reading ? What flight controller ?
I use a Matek F405 Wing FC with iNav. You can see details of my full setup in the video description.
Hello,inav?
im new to inav..how is it that your prop spun first then went on throttle when launch ..i have totaled 2 dart xl due to auto launch mode
CLI Command nav_fw_launch_idle_thr = 1200
It looks like a tornado was starting to form.
Now that would make for some nice footage, the Dart XL doing 300 mph wind surfing :-)
What Flight Controller board are you using? Looks like it is working perfectly,.
Matek F405 Wing
@@bluefish3607 I wonder if I can use an matek fc for drone
@@gc9n Yes there is a good range of flight controllers from Matek I use them on my drones and planes. www.mateksys.com/
