Deer Season: Hannah’s Kansas Archery Buck - My BiGgest Buck EVER with a BOW!

- I’ve finally got the whole video/story up on my Kansas Archery Deer.
Me and dad both applied for archery tags back in June for Kansas to hunt with our good buddy Cody Cutler who we’ve known for a few years that lives up there. Thankfully, we both received tags. We broke out our Elite bows and made the 12 hour trip up to Kansas. It was very, very cold. I went from 70 degree Alabama weather to temps in the teens and snow in Kansas. It had the rut a bit off, so the first few days were extremely slow. I really wanted to make it home in time for Thanksgiving, but we were planning to stay until we had both of our buck tags filled. Dad tagged out first on an 8 point. Finally, on our 10th day there, November 20th, 2 days before Thanksgiving, I was able to take my biggest buck to date with a bow, as well as my first nice tacked buck EVER with a compound bow! I’m so incredibly thankful for it as well as being able to make it home to my family in time for Thanksgiving!

I remember my first "good' buck . I was alone and it was a ,long, long drag out . It got dark , colder and the snow even seemed to get deeper the further I went . Got back to my truck so exhausted I had trouble loading up my buck. I sat around for quite awhile just listening to the woods, breathing in the cold . Feeling like you are alive. I knew, even then that this was one of those moments in life that you are so very lucky to ever experience. I was 15 years old.
Great example of what a hunt can be, selective, honest, respectful, patient, reserved, a pure joy to watch, thanks for sharing, I truely hope others strive to meet this standard, cheers.

The appreciation you show for hunting not just to kill just any thing that crosses the blind will I hope bring a new respect for why we all do this. It's more than people think that goes into this stuff, it's a respect for the whole process of hunting that you show, that will bring more folks to understanding the old way's, this is stuff passed down from generations. About 30 years ago some local residents complained of opportunistic fair weather boys shooting deer from the highway so the game warden set up one of those trophy decoys in the Judgeships pasture.
He promptly arrested the Judges son. 😂

My daughter got her first this year with an arrow and I was amazed by the total experience and how smart she was to the details of what happened during that hunt and her awareness of the whole situation. Some story I won’t bore with the details but it was so much fun.

Great shot Hannah, l am a very avid bowhunter in Michigan, we grow'em big here as well, "THAT'S A BRUZER OF A BUCK"....I love to see more and more woman getting involved in the sport and especially getting the youth involved as well...GREAT SHOT, GREAT DISCIPLINE ON PATIENCE AND WAY TO STICK IT OUT.... I hunt private family 100 acre farm here in Michigan and each hunt is a 4 to 6 hr glorious time in the stand with much success on some nice bucks, love being outdoors...Way to go ,Aim straight as you did..He is going to look great on the wall..Congrats again and God bless, Merry Christmas to you and the family...LOVE THE CHANNEL..WAY TO GO ...JEFF

Kansas resident here, good to have you all visit here. My wife has family from Grove Hill and I’ve been down there twice. Beautiful country it is. Spent 1 week on the Bigbee river and then went on down to Gulf Shores for another week. My kids on their visit somehow acquired a Bama accent, and it persisted for two weeks after our return home. LoL. Ya all come back, ya hear.

I have stalked deer on sections of land for many years, blessed to do it, nothing like it. Still do get to stalk once in awhile. You work hard for it when you stalk, I often came out empty handed. Best times to stalk are during rut (rattling), rain, in wind, winter snow/sleet/rain/or mix all good stalking weather. I also hunt feeders, easy, more harvesting than hunting. Feeders are frowned upon by some hunters. Feeders allow people with small acreages to bring deer to them from competing surrounding properties.
