I like where minecraft is going, 3D models are really going to change the game, for better or worse.

Yes the models can be random depending on their position. It's different blockstates with different weights. It's actually really fun making 3D models so I recommend that people try to learn it because it's nice being able to make it look the way you want. Kind of like I have made little cherry blossoms randomly on oak trees in a resource pack. But also with blockstates you could just have different textures for blocks.

Wow its the best texture i ever seen
I wanna see ramp blocks in 1.9 and when placing a block on it, it rolls down. You can also use it to damage enemies when you don't have any weapons in your inventory. It does as much damage as a wood sword only more tedious to use of course.

***** Adam, the blocks are differetn not based on the bock under them, but they have the alternate blocks variation, for example: now, as you put tnt, the fuse may not be on the same side always, but instead of just spinning the texture, he made brand new ones.

so on the subject of different models, in theory we could now have circular tree trunks in Minecraft. and super realistic tree leaves with branches. in theory everything in Minecraft could look the way it dose in real life to a fault. provided you had a computer that could handle that. and in said scenario, your avatar would be the only pixel thing in Minecraft.
+GaleGrim not really, since there are certain things you can't even do with models unfortunately :/ (circles/balls for example)
Or it would be faaaaar to much work to do the models, since you would have to have tons and tons and tons of "cubes" to make something look like it's round
its a nice thought tho.

when this feature first came-out, it was possible.
but Mojang changed the system to only use cuboid elements.
Think it was for lag reasons or something, IDR.
Still quite a lot that can be done, though.

I noticed in the resource pack there were folders inside the models/block folder and I saw there were multiple models in each one... And then I noticed it's the extra parts that show up on the models specified in the folders name... Could somebody help me with this? I don't actually understand where I could have multiple models for the same block. Like mobs with random coloring with those resource packs

These models look so epic, but my computer would probably melt if I tried to play it. Even in Vanilla I have to play with minimum Smooth Lighting, low render distance and Fast graphics!
Oh well, I'm happy with what I got.

Ninja Willis I use Fraps to record & the thumbnails are made in Photoshop, but there are definitely cheaper popular alternatives like Paint dot net.

Compass doesn't work with this texture pack. Just constantly spins around to no particular player or object. If anyone has a fix I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, great texture pack!
