the side vents were the only thing I hated about the base C8 and am so glad they fixed that for the z06
also I'm glad the quad exhaust is in the middle again. Didn't hate the 2+2 style on the base but prefer the 4 middle ones.
There’s padding on them just like the camo on the stingray. I wouldn’t put too much into how they look right now. It’s going to be different
Good news the standard c8 should get easier to acquire in reasonable time. Bad news forget about a Z06 for a long time. GM nailed it

Yeah Hopefully I can finally get my C7. Z06 early next year. As these come out everything will begin to slot down. If and when the Z06s hit the low 60s again. I’m getting one.
I'm still shocked it's gonna be an N/A flat plane 5.5L V8 .... I don't think people understand just how good it will sound. Especially with the right exhaust system, it'll almost be like an F1 car at 8-9k rpms. I CAN'T WAIT
Everyone talks about the flat plane factor...I don't hear anyone mentioning that it will be also dual overhead cams. This is an entirely new engine. When will be see a crate motor become available that will end up in some radical street hot rods? I sure hope they think they have the vibration issue accommodated.

Those wheels don't have the weave of carbon fiber. Could be a powder coat. Or could be Mag. I'd put my money on mags. Which still is a stoking option.

The exhaust system with valves is why the difference in pipes I believe. The straight pipe and muffler route will be different sizes.

The canards look very aggressive with the down turn and the swoop up in the air intake. Nice design if it sticks. Hope the reveal is soon. Can't wait to see this car. Conti's video of the low wing doesnt

The larger exhaust pipes in the middle are the louder route through the mufflers, on the dual mode exhaust. Smaller ones are quieter.
Question, is the Z06 going to have vents in the rear bumper like the regular C8's
Most likely yes, if you look really closely at these rear shots, you can see a slight indentation in the corner bumper just below the tail lights, which I'm guessing is the corner vents like found on the stingray. However the vents on the Z06 do look a little smaller/squished compared to the stingrays.
Possibly so to have more room for the new diffuser design, and/or to accommodate those air slits/curtains at the very bottom corners of the bumper, (in the place of which the exhaust would be on a regular C8)
My OCD is bugging me the front wheel has weights not behind the spoke. 😃
That exhaust looks more like the Zora with turbos. The two outer ones are not wastegate it’s the dump pipes
Production cars would not have "dump pipes" lol. They would have to go through separate catalytic converters which wouldnt make sense because it would add unnecessary weight. Besides all production car turbos like this have internal wastegates so there is nowhere to "dump" anything but right back out through the regular exhaust path.
Sound of the Z06 is amazing , I think it can perform same as a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

I put my chip in back in February. Those dive planes look like something tacked on, they don't look quite right. This is also a different car from the one in the Nuremburg track photos, it has different license plate.
The side scoop looks different from either the current C8 or the C8R. It looks like an R with the point stopping at the end of the door line then dropping down to follow the door edge, while the R has the point continuing back a few inches for that more dramatic point "boomerang" look. Even the standard C8 has that point continuing far back past the end of the door line. I'm kind of hoping something is still being camouflaged but not likely. This current "new" look is a bit tame to me. Look at the huge difference between the space between the edge of the side scoop entrance and the rear wheel well compared to the C8 and C8R. Does seem like a lot of "real estate" that does have a big bulge. Those wheels do look like the carbon fiber ones leaked a year ago but they do not look carbon fiber. Might they have painted them for camouflage? I like the style wheel that seems to be the "standard" shown in other photos.
The side scoop has padding on it. Just like the stingray when it was camoed. So I would put too much stock in how that looks at the moment
I wish they would scrap the rear trunk on this model and redesign the rear, I don't need something to carry golf clubs in

It would be unique to be a flat plane crank pushrod engine.

Based on how products are released, this is the Z06. We wont see the ZR1 for another year or two.
This Corvette looks better than the Acura NSX, to me.
