In today's video, Dr. Pragati Gupta will discuss the mistakes you shouldn't commit as an epilepsy patient or how you can rectify them. Considering small things will not only help you in recovering but also with basic management skills like first aid.
Few points that will come to your aid during an epilepsy episode:
1. First, never hold the arms and legs of the patient tightly when they are in an unconscious situation, their body is shaking, and their mouth is filled with foaming saliva. This abrupt holding of arms and legs can even injure the patient severely as those jerky movements are involuntary.
2. If the patient has worn tight clothing around the neck region, try to loosen that piece of clothing, be it a tie or any scarf, as this will avoid choking. Loosening the clothing item will clear your breathing passage.
3. Do not put anything inside the mouth of the patient during an epilepsy attack. We should roll and turn the patient to a specific side as soon as the episode ends so that if they are about to vomit, they can do it, and it won't aspirate inside, and the breathing passage will get cleared.
4. Ensure that there are no sharp items lying around the patient.
5. Do not give water to the patient during the attack. Once they are conscious and relaxed, they can sip some water. Providing water in the lying position can contribute to choking.

Waise anti apilepsy tablets v mai le rha hu but fir v mujhe dar lga rehta hai ki mujhe fits dubara to nhi aaega
