If you use your craft knife and just slice the verticle tape spaces next to the Galaxies, leaving the lighter color in place, it will be easier to get a crisp line. I hope I explained that clearly.

Do you sand your top rim exposing the stainless steel and then put your final coat of epoxy?

Yes I do sand to expose a fine line of stainless steel.
