He used to come to the bank one classic in Lexington Kentucky every year. I'll never forget seeing him at the Warburg cup at Kiawah island 3 years after the event moved away to Dallas. I mentioned how much we missed see him in Lexington every year and he literally spent 30+ minutes talking with me about how much he loved my hometown instead of warming up for his round. He is the epitome of a class act and an absolute beacon for integrity in golf and life in general. I wish all pros would take lessons from him on how to grow the game and interact with the fans
Wow... Didn't realize he was ever that poor. Good for him. Hate to make a correction, But I'm pretty sure Palmer never won an official PGA tournament in which the winner's share was 100k. Seems like, as a teenager in the mid seventies, I remember the Hawaiian Open was at 50k and THAT was amazing at the time. Not long after that, purses really got good and then Tom Watson was the first to 500k in a year.
Oh, there are others believe me. He´s very humble and he has something to say. Lot of wisdom and he puts it all into perspective. Very pleasing to watch, very pleasing to listen to. Lot to learn from him. Great guy.

Mr. Player is Saint for the Game of Golf. He’s an Ambassador throughout the world. I met him at Desert Inn in ‘87. What a gentleman.
Good ole desert inn, miss that place
This is so inspiring. Probably one of the best yt channels.
Absolute hero
Interviewed Gary Player for an Atlanta radio station during a tour tournament. He was exceptionally gracious.
I had no idea Gary was so smart and outspoken. Brilliant guy!

@@motorula I am taiwanese and I strongly applaud Gary's concept.
He's a humble man from humble beginnings.
Its called inflation, Gary... ever heard of it??
adjusting for inflation is assumed. It's changed a lot and there is a ton more money.
