I made the same this weekend with a few mods...I didn't use the bottom of the can, I let the charcoal rest on the wire. I also only cut back half of the top of the can and pushed the loose flap into the tin and back underneath, this made everything much more sturdy. Thanks for the idea!
Awesome production, but , drill al your holed first, then break down the can. How did it work, how long before the charcoal was ready? Inquiring minds want to know? other than that, not bad.
Thanks for the comment. You're right, in hindsight it would have been much easier to drill the holes first. As far as how it works, it's great, have used it many times. The handle gets a bit too hot, so I have to wear gloves to pick it up, but otherwise no complaints. Charcoal is ready after about 10-15 minutes. The key is using enough paper underneath it to adequately light the first few chunks of charcoal. Also I've found it works best to set it on top of the grill and light it there. If you try to light it straight off the ground or concrete it just doesn't quite get enough air flow.
@@justinhoot2489 To make it more clear. The hammering in the background is the reason. Two sounds overlaping - no go. I still watched your video, but muted ;).

At 4:08 it looked as if Mr Bean was testing that by shaking!

Great job,,but it looks too thin!
A thicker can would be better, but it has held up decently. Maybe an old gallon paint can would have been better.
Jesus Christ is the music annoying.
Thanks for the feedback.
