- Today I got a world record in a rhythm game. But not just any rhythm game, Parappa The Rapper. Yeah, this speedrun is probably now my greatest achievement.

My channel generally focuses on a more casual side of speedruns. With these videos I want to show off cool speedruns, explain how they work, and entertain. Hopefully you enjoy the content and maybe even take up speedrunning yourself, because it is truly a lot of fun!
Not a Rhythm Heaven Fever speedrun, Friday Night Funkin' speedrun, or any other speedrun challenge like that. This is a speed run / speed runner of Parappa The Rappa Remastered against himself just trying to go fast and it was great!
Also yes, I realize how dumb speedrunning rhythm games is. It's fun though

1. First, Parappa as a child, is taking karate classes, taking his first steps itno the world and learning his passion for rapping from his teacher
2. Here, Parappa is a teenager, learning how to drive. He sees how his rapping can help the world and how he can achieve his dreams
3. Parappa's dreams have fallen to the ground - he's poor, homeless, and being extorted by lizards
4. Parappa moves in with his mother, and learns some things, such as how to bake a cake. She tries to take more responsibility for his welfare and knowledge than she did all that time ago
5. Parappa finally turned his life around and, on the brink of giving up, landed his dream job as a rapper, spreading his music to millions.

My favorite part of the Parappa series (yes, it’s a series, there are 3) is that Master Onion has a continuing storyline. He’s a successful karate instructor in P1, he loses his dojo and becomes a full-time rapper/singer in Jammer Lammy, and rediscovers his roots by teaching “romantic karate” on tv.

Same as a fan of rhythm games I usually do it on beat or do my own thing on the beat
I played this game once noticed this instantly because everything is surprisingly off rhythm and then returned it. It’s a cool little game with some funky tracks but it’s nigh unplayable with the lack of rhythm it has in a rhythm game
Imagine being the guy in the toilet and hearing 5 different people rapping about kung fu driving scamming and cooking and 1 repeats them all
I hate how people think this is a ripoff of Friday night funkin this game was my childhood

This video has made me ashamed to be a fan of FNF. Parappa isn't an off-brand FNF for God's sake. If anything, this was the precursor to FNF's gameplay style of imitating patterns. It's also older than pretty much the entire FNF fan base.

It’s weird to think that speezy is an actually legit speed runner
The ps4 emulaton of it was not good meaning input lag was increased, the PS1 version is not as bad because there was no emulation factors that cause input lag, its the same with the PSP version, its mutch worse than the PS4 version though. The only issue with the PS1 version is that if you play it on EPSXE it has more input lag than the PSP version for some reason, its best to do it on real hardware for the least intput lag
Even the ps1 on actual hardware had some serious input lag issues
I like the part where he's learning to drive, he just lets go of the wheel to keep rapping 😂 but didn't fail

PLEASE play a speedrun of rhythm heaven fever please. It is one of my favorite all time rhythm games and it sounds amazing, especially note in the fishing one to remember the tutorial sound clues and in the beisball one remember to count to five with the tempo

I feel like it’s possible to do something like try and get the slowest time for a song as possible by getting Cool as often as possible, then dropping to Good again.
the cool mode and dropping down to good transitions are happening during the song, so they don't add any time, however it is a strat for parappa the rapper 2

What I always loved to do in Parappa is just spam all the buttons or make the most weirdest word rap combinations. Pretty much the only reason why I just loved Parappa, aside from the nostalgia as well.

for those that don't know, a lot of the songs in this game are altered versions of other 'popular' (and i use the term loosely.....) songs, of the top of my head the driving test is an alteration of 'Can- turtles have short legs'
This got 2000th vibes so powerful, it awakened a need to sit in a lazy-boy, turn on MTV on a CRT telly, and pop a can of cold Pepsi, moist with condensation.
The best way to speedrun this is getting cool mode in all of them.
