Those old military wire cutters were a good find I’m surprised you didn’t pick up the 2 old 50 cal cans that were below that table near to beginning of the footage
Personally, I do not have a preference into what you should restore. I just enjoy seeing classic old tools being brought to life. Thanks for the great video.

Those Husky tools looked nice but they looked to be cadmium or maybe galvanized finish, probably not something you wanna hit with a wire wheel. Maybe someone else knows different

I did not realize those treadle machines brought such good money but I am not very good at selling or flipping tools, much better at buying and keeping.
Hey Scout! I really enjoy your content. I've always enjoyed doing restorations but since finding your channel you've inspired me to do more restorations. I find myself going to flea markets, thrift stores, antique shops, Facebook Marketplace and pawn shops searching for tools to restore. Thanks for the inspiration! Keep breathing life back into those antiques!
Those pliers. I want to see how you get the handle back where it should be. I see the Dake for that episode…… Boy I wish that wasn’t such a long drive. Looks like a fun place to go. John keep making these outstanding videos. I look forward to every Monday Wednesday and Friday just for your episode.
John you get all the deals. These shows you go to make California look bad. I don’t see the vintage tools you find. I have to say you scored. The crate tool I personally have not seen before. Nice restoration. Do the socket set next. Always great enjoyment on your channel. Thank You
Love all your buys. And what a fantastic show. I wish I was closer. And I’d love to see the fiberglass handled axe restored to its glory. I think you’d do a great job!
Boy I need to start a UA-cam channel so I can casually throw around that I bought this or that "for the show".😁😄... Honestly thanks so much for all you do for us. I love our group and I always learn something. Thank you!
I liked : 3:35 - electric motors for a buck -- 3:58 - That ratchet and socket set, Reggyontheroad just did a few videos of his collection that had a set similar to that. -- 6:48 - that vise for $10.00 and that belt drive grinding thing right behind it. -- 4:33 - Classic Audio Clip (LoL) -- 6:13 - Whattha?!?! I thought for sure you were going to buy it! 🤣 -- 6:27 - Crescent nail puller for $5.00! -- 6:56 - that old time steam engine, Mahoning County Canfield Fair in Ohio has a nice old timey steam engine display every year. Who doesn't love those old steam engines? -- I would like to see those military cutters, Utica pliers, that $10.00 wrench restored. I would love to have that wrench! Of course, anything you restore is enjoyable to watch. Great video as usual. Enjoyed the whole thing (as usual).
Scout - my only issue is that the episode wasn’t longer !!! - would love to see the monkey wrench restored that looks like a great piece - thanks for another great video!
Holy cow! I almost went to that show, but I FORGOT ABOUT IT! That $2 tool set was a steal. I was expecting one of those motors to follow you home. I want to say do the pipe wrench, but I think you can hold off on that to build the anticipation.
ANYTHING you want to do I'll watch! Jacktown would have to take me to raise for a WHILE! Glad you got up with Mike and the rest. And the crate tool was WONDERFUL! God Bless!
I like the channel lock pliers The crate hammer is just the right size to put in a small tool roll up kit A nice leather one with pockets would be a great project to make
You flashed a pic of the Starrett 815 magnifying hammer. Those are sweet! I bought one, paid big money for it, and have never used it, but it feels so nice and what a classy tool!
The crate tool looks great and I like the bluing! If I could buy anything at the show it would be the treadle scroll saw. They are rusty but they looked like all the parts were there. I would like to see the wrench restored. The steel and wood look like a good combination. Thanks for sharing this.
@@ScoutCrafter great find! I bet being older all the dies are great and cut like a hot knife through butter! I’ve been slowly replacing my cheap set with high quality- it is amazing the difference $25 for a set vs $25 each makes. I suppose in Taps and Dies, you do get what you pay for…unless you get an amazing set like that!!
Was really cool to see the show felt like we were there great stuff You picked up some really cool stuff great video scout God bless take care 🦅🗽🇺🇸👍🙏🇳🇿🪖🔨
Wow- You didn't get the Bat!?! Awesome stuff to see at the show. Love the tools you got. That Husky box and tools you have to do! I would love to see that combination monkey/pipe wrench restored. Calpilot always sends pictures of Bonney tools he finds. I am trying to find time to go out and visit. Great stuff!
I think this is the first time I nearly quit in the middle of one of your videos. The prices on those scroll saws were insane! I had just made a trek for some hard to find hammers and ended up paying between $19 - $50 for each. Old ones, but still very pricey. I knew where I was going that they would be expensive, but I didn't expect them to be THAT expensive. I ended up dropping close to $300 for what I felt was very little to show for it - it was a bit of a drive and I wasn't going to come back empty handed. I was already regretting my purchases, but seeing those prices in your video, I could have gotten more for my money going there and that includes the gas driving from Cleveland! I pride myself in getting good deals, but those prices blow away anything I have ever seen.
Hey Scout, great video. Man, that fire was so big I could feel it down here! Thanks for the footage of Jacktown as I always enjoy seeing what Aussies call swap meets. I’d really like to see the hatchet restored and the Husky ratchet set. The jaws on that $10 wrench look a lot like the jaws on a pair of Knippex Raptor 87 41 250 multi fit pliers for grabbing rounded bolts I just ordered. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
That crate tool looks really good now. If they had a show here I would have to wade knee deep in snow. Those Channel Locks are different. They have great steel in them. I thought you might have went for those little box cabinets you were looking at. Reminds me of the microscope kit that was sold when we were young. I thought you might have liked that bat for your attic as well. 🤣
You picked up some great tools at the show. That West German tool kit for $2 and in a wood box was amazing. I like the Channellock 426 the best for the next restoration, but they are all good.
Definitely the combo wrench with the wood handle. It looks quite unusual compared to the more common ones. I want to see if you find any markings on it when you clean it up.
Very interesting show. I wish I didnt live so far away. Knowing of your interest in lanterns, I thought one would find it's way back to Queens. The Mossberg sheet metal socket set was cool. When I find Mossberg socket sets, which is not very often, they are never ever as complete as what you showed. My vote is to clean up the $10 wrench. I bet it's an uncommon find.
Hi John always love the tool shows we dont get them like that here in the UK but realy love the old pipe wrench have to do a video on that but dont complain at 10 dollers that wrench would have cost 60-70 pounds on ebay over here the tools seem so much cheeper over there lol
Did you forget about that interview tap handle there 🤔? I was in a horrible mood but you're video unsuspecting calmed my nerves. Thank you! I'd love a rummage around Jacktown, though all stuff I'd buy would get me in a world of trouble (space wise).
Alex- Yes- I forgot to mention that awesome but very unusual tap handle! I never seen such a handle before! You have great eyes…. I was good this time but it was hard!!! 😂👍
That crate tool turned out great. I have not been able to confirm it yet, but I’m hoping to be in Pennsylvania this summer. You’ll have to let me know where the good tool shows are. Thanks for sharing the videos and have a great day.
I’ll go with that Husky ratchet set as well; I’ve got a 1/4 ratchet handle no other parts or box so it will be interesting to see what it looks like cleaned up. So many items to choose from at that show, I should never go :) Thanks again.
Great show! I think I saw a motor for a dollar! If that was the case, I never could have left it behind! You did great with what you bought! That horse was amazing! And that bat...Oy! Anyway....im rambling! I can't wait to see Friday's episode! Have fun!
Hi John, nice video today. Like I said before I wish they had something like this in Southern California but it’s also a good thing since I also don’t need any more tools but it’s fun walking around . I thought you would’ve added some paint to that crate tool.
Great video 👍Jacktown video you done was awesome! They had some fantastic deals there. I thought for sure you would get that big red vise for $10.00 dollars 💵 , What a deal! I know why because you said you were not going to buy no more tools 🛠🧰 😂😂😂. I think you did get some cool tools 🛠 from the show. Those Channellock 426 pliers looked awesome. I think I would like to see you restore that Husky socket set or restore those cool Utica pliers. That crate tool you restored looks fantastic. You took that one over the top👍. Wow😳3 hours, just for something that small, that is wild, but again I think it was worth the work to get that Beautiful finish. I had commented last video but don’t know what happen to the comment but I wanted to say that those Japan 🇯🇵 pencils ✏️ looked fantastic! Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Friday. You have a wonderful evening 😃👍👍
Another great show; can't wait to see what Friday brings. I was hoping to get to Jacktown for the first time, but alas I was thwarted by a bad cold. Looking forward to the next one. Btw, I'd like to see those pliers restored and how you can fix that bent handle.
An interesting video tonight thanks, great to see the Jacktown winter show which is probably 10 times bigger than our equivalent summer shows here in England,🙂 I would like to see the adjustable spanner restored as they are something which I collect, great job on the crate tool🙂
No Freaking Way I could pass up those Beautiful Electric Motors for that price.............That Wrench has so many different things going on that it needs to be the next restoration.
I love those type of wrench, i love to have at least one, not for use, just for me haha. Almost imposible to get one here in Mexico. Amaizing show John, as usual!!
3:59 You found the square sockets I googled for! I want the one that fits my drain removal plug In my basement because its so much easier to clean them from below ( right by the slop sink ) than at the walls upstairs. (This bldg was built in the 50s and built very well at that but issues of age are taking its toll plus all this snow and I've got some water in my basement shop now.My neighbors just spent $10k on getting their plumbing redone to the street) I just took apart a humidifier I found while on a walk. Brushless motor in it, unbelievably quiet now! Video topics I'd like to see you cover: Your methods for shellacing and thinning. Do you french polish? What's the best way to store pieces you might have to leave outside?
I swear I’m going to make it to that show one day! That wooden box at 4:43 for $25! I would have loved to see what that was or what was behind that middle piece. That and other things Definitely would have followed me home lol
Everyone video of Winter Jack someone video recorded the prosthetic legs. I guess the prosthetics are good if your trouble shooting in the garage doesn't have a leg to stand on. Forgive me for the dark humor. I am in the need of a range of tools for every day garage tools still - heavy duty shears, SAE and Metric sockets beyond the Craftsman prepackaged deals, adjustable wrenches all sizes, ratchet box wrenches, combination wrenches, body work tools, steels clamps, wood working clamps, various styles and function of vice grips, 1/4" drive sockets, etc. I would also like to get a couple of long and wide sharpening stones if can find them at a flea market - one fine and one course for planes and chisels. Oh by the way seeing the shadow box bat reminds me that BigVic just did a tool hall with an old Louisville Slugger. Speaking of your close up of the Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac can, William Zinsser, are to this great New York company wrote some excellent books on writing and he made them memoir like so told some stories about the shellac business. ScoutCrafter wants one of those foot powered scroll saws. How about treating us to the ratchet in the metal box.
Yes! The prosthetics are always interesting to me. That particular dealer was a little bit pricey, so I didn’t even ask how much they were. Normally if they were cheap enough, I would buy something like that. 😂😂👍
Boy am I glad there are no shows like this around my area. I have very little will power. I would probably have to build on to the shop. I recently found my first crate tool, a Bridgeport. I did a full Scoutcrafter on it but I did not blue it. Cool little tool.
I thought for sure you were going to bring home the three prosthetic legs for a tripod project! The $10 wrench will be very interesting, but I think my fav. from this bunch to see restored will be the Husky Tools cleanup.
I would have bought the Craftsman dies and the Husky socket set. I would have also picked up one of those scroll saws. Those were great prices on those.
That post drill for $10 was the deal of the century...wow. cheers
Joe- You are so right, I'm glad Patrick got it because he is the nicest guy you will ever meet... Thanks!

That crate tool turned out great. I have not been able to confirm it yet, but I’m hoping to be in Pennsylvania this summer. You’ll have to let me know where the good tool shows are. Thanks for sharing the videos and have a great day.
You have to try and make the Spring show in May! Lots of great people to meet and a huge flea market!!! 😃👍
I’ll see. I’ll probably have to wait till my son is out of school first which I think is gonna be more like June and July. But I will be in touch.
I’ll go with that Husky ratchet set as well; I’ve got a 1/4 ratchet handle no other parts or box so it will be interesting to see what it looks like cleaned up. So many items to choose from at that show, I should never go :) Thanks again.
That crate tool would make a handy shoe horn. Just a thought.... 🙂
Yes!!! I thought the same thing! 😂👍
Great show! I think I saw a motor for a dollar! If that was the case, I never could have left it behind! You did great with what you bought! That horse was amazing! And that bat...Oy! Anyway....im rambling! I can't wait to see Friday's episode! Have fun!
Bill- Both those motors were $15- Still a great deal! 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter you're not Kidding! That place is fantastic!
Steven- That vise was a steal!!! 😃👍
11:43 You had me at Craftsman!
No Freaking Way I could pass up those Beautiful Electric Motors for that price.............That Wrench has so many different things going on that it needs to be the next restoration.
Tell me about it!!! 🫣
I love those type of wrench, i love to have at least one, not for use, just for me haha. Almost imposible to get one here in Mexico. Amaizing show John, as usual!!
Did I miss you show the tool in front of the tap and die set? I can't tell what that is. Maybe a tap handle of some sort?
Yes- A very unusual Tap Handle! 😃👍
That was a nice set but $50 was a little pricey for me…. 😃👍
Great finds at the show.
I swear I’m going to make it to that show one day! That wooden box at 4:43 for $25! I would have loved to see what that was or what was behind that middle piece. That and other things Definitely would have followed me home lol
Hester- That box was beautiful! I wonder what it was originally for? 😃👍
That 4$ hammer looks to me like either a mason's hammer of some kind or a rock collector's
You bought some really nice tools and the show looked great. Sorry I missed it! I would like to see the fiberglass handle hatchet restored. Thanks
Boy am I glad there are no shows like this around my area. I have very little will power. I would probably have to build on to the shop. I recently found my first crate tool, a Bridgeport. I did a full Scoutcrafter on it but I did not blue it. Cool little tool.
Bridgeports are the best! 😃👍
"the Snoop" tanks for sharing, hope all there are @ peace...
GOOD SHOW AND NICE FINDS..STAY WELL...
I thought for sure you were going to bring home the three prosthetic legs for a tripod project! The $10 wrench will be very interesting, but I think my fav. from this bunch to see restored will be the Husky Tools cleanup.
That dealer was expensive so I’m sure the legs weren’t cheap. 😃👍
I would have bought the Craftsman dies and the Husky socket set. I would have also picked up one of those scroll saws. Those were great prices on those.
