    This is a wonderful video about the real function of a bullet journal as Ryder Carroll envisioned it. It's straightforward and shows a real life example of the simplicity and flexibility. Thank you!

      Simple Goddess Thank you so much. I still use my bullet journal but I'm a bit more messy with it than I used to be. For me it's more about getting the info out of my head and onto paper than how pretty it looks. Thanks for watching!

      Karen Pierce Thanks. You’ll love it. I had stopped doing the bullet journal a little while ago and have been feeling scattered lately so I just picked it up again on the weekend and I’m using it again. It helps to get all the “stuff” out of my brain. I find I’m not using the key symbols anymore but I still like the table of contents and the calendar. Let me know how you do with it.

    Hi Tanya. You should try sleeping with 3 pillows (not too thick) if you are having back problems. Sleep on your side in a foetal position, with one pillow under your head, one in between your legs and the last one, placed parallel to your spine, slightly tucked under. This way you slightly roll your whole body onto that pillow, relieving any pressure placed on your spine and hips due to gravity. I highly recommend it! :)

    Very thought provoking. I am always trying to improve upon my calendar and my list making. I like how you are able to incorporate all of your lists, etc. into one location along with dates, appointments, and all you are thinking about including design plans. Sometimes when I start to get frazzled about how much I've got to do - if I can just sit down with a fresh pencil and paper for 5 minutes, I can regroup and get back on track. I am seriously considering the bullet journal system. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I need to start a bullet journal because I will think of a bunch of stuff during the day that I need to do or purchase, forget to write it down and "poof" it's gone of the brain....your video has been so helpful and encourages me to get mine started right away. 😊

    I just started bullet journaling and really like it. I guess I had already kind of been doing it this way, but watching the original video for BuJo spelled it out for me and now it's really clicking. I was searching for videos of how others journal to be sure that I was on track with the "flow" of it. Your video was so very helpful, and I picked up an idea or 2 to help refine mine. and I like that yours is so basic...... I just don't have the time for stickers, color coding etc foo foo stuff, tho i might use a bit of washi tape for the edges on important/often referenced pages. thank you!

      Hi, thanks. The only thing I stopped doing was the tracking. But I have still continued with this bullet journal. I must say I have tried for years to find a calendar, planner or system for keeping myself organized and this is it. I love it. It works for me I think because it's in a list form and I love that I can add ideas etc without having to use a different journal. I like the calendar that I added. I like the size too. Fits in my purse...it's great. Thanks for watching, Tanya

      Hi SuzieQ, ugh no air conditioning. It's awful. I found this house for us and never thought to check. We have AC in the bedrooms, thank god but nothing in the main living space. We looked into it but it's expensive and we weren't prepared to pay for something that expensive for a place we're just renting and to share the cost for installing the units was our only option with our landlords. :-(

    I am always interested in seeing more ways to use planners/journals... and I thought the bullet journal sounded perfect in concept- but I kind of feel like its inefficient because of the repetitiveness. It seems like all the tasks were written at least 3 times- in the month at a glance, in the month tasks, and then on the day itself... or am I understanding that wrong?
    However- I think in general I am going to start putting a table of contents and page number on ALL my journals- especially those that I use for ideas, etc. Something so simple I never thought of...

    • @steviesokoloskis2883
      @steviesokoloskis2883 10 років тому +2

      I don't think most people move things from day to day... Personally I only move tasks once a month. I used to do it once a week (in my old weekly planner) but it just got too crazy for me, and purely digital just doesn't cut it. So yeah, honestly the bullet journal is less work than a weekly planner imho.
      EDIT: One thing I should add, the greatest thing about the bullet journal is that you can use it however you want. So take what you like and ignore or alter the rest! (for instance, I'm totally stealing the yearly spread for 2015)

    • @PartlySunnyToday
      @PartlySunnyToday 9 років тому

      Stevie Sokoloskis I agree! So flexible. I start with a list of monthly tasks. Then add new ones each day as they appear. If I move something from the monthly list to a day, then I put the arrow through it to tell me to look elsewhere for it. But, I'm like you, after that, I don't keep moving it forward to each day,
      I scan ALL of my open tasks at the end of the day and pick the ones that I want to focus on the next day and write those down on that day. At the end of the month, I flip through the entire month, collect all of the open tasks & items, and write those on the next monthly List of Tasks.

    @ 8:41&12:27 you show the July Date recording...I was wondering.. how do you figure out that is enough space (one page) for 3 day tracking ,writings ? is there a limit space you give your self ? cheers ;-))

    • @RedCardinalCrafts
      @RedCardinalCrafts 10 років тому

      Hey there, I think. Get what you're asking. I fill my journal in as I go. If I'm working on July, for example and I have that on one page and then I have a thought about something I just write those thoughts on the very next page and then I pick up where I left off with July on the next full page. When I have things like, those blank pages that I've "assigned" to a task like, "build a wardrobe" I just kind of allow a page or two for that because I just know in my head where I'm going with that and roughly how much space I'm going to need to write out those thoughts. I hope this makes sense.

    • @kan-zee
      @kan-zee 10 років тому

      RedCardinalCrafts aho..okay..I get your direction. So you fill in your day stuff after the day is done, similar to a meditation download exercise...then you put in the next day right after that. When you have bigger 'projects" You make a couple of pages for that ? is this correct ?

    • @MyLittlePinkCottage
      @MyLittlePinkCottage  10 років тому +2

      Hi, yeah, so like today is Mon Sept 8th so I only have today's tasks written in. I haven't put down Tuesday, Wednesday etc. yet. Now tonight I will sit down and look at what I got done today and cross things off. Then I will write Tuesday sept 9 and write down what I have to do tomorrow and then add anything from today that I didn't get done and put an arrow in today's check box to show that I moved it on to tomorrow. So I just work day by day. Now if I have an appointment on, say, sept 20th I will just write that next to sept 20th on the month at a glance page, where I have the whole month written down the page. If I have something I have to do in September but it doesn't have to be done on a certain day then I just list it on my "September task" list. As I go over things each night I also refer to the month list and task list so I can insert any appointment reminders etc if it's happening on the next day. Now for projects and ideas I just use the next blank page and work there. Listing things in the index or table of contents helps you keep track of where everything is. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Takes are, Tanya

      I really like them. I like the quality of them and the size. I like to carry them in my purse, which is not huge. I especially like them for sketching. (I buy the "sketch" ones for that) I really like the graph paper one for the bullet journal but having said that, I've also used a 50cent composition notebook and it works just fine for notes etc. So it's more of a fun purchase but not necessary.

    Wow! Seriously anal-retentive, eh? 1987 called & wants its day planner back. ;-) You know you could have printed out a full year-at-a-glance month calender from any program (like Outlook), custom-sized for your journal page, and you could have pasted that calender on a journal page instead of spending an hour or more counting out pixels. Did you also know you can use a computer or smartphone and get a running task list, organized and sorted in any way you want, integrated within a calender, and it's always up to date? It can even be printed. Hand-creating an index or TOC page? Technology could be your friend if you let it. You can write notes in a journal, take a picture of the page with your smartphone, and that page will then import into any organizer program and will get tags, can be processed through OCR for text recognition. I use Evernote, which does it all.

      photogher What's the point of a handwritten personal journal if you're just going to print everything out from a PC? This isn't a video about digital journals. It's about physical, personal, handwritten ones. No need to condescend with your "technology is your friend" spiel. She uploaded a video to UA-cam for fuck's sake, she knows how to use it.
