@@JOHNTORNOUT The Tritons had many problems that had nothing to do with oil or the limiter. The older 5.0's biggest issue was it's heads. Depending on which 350 it is, High RPMs can kill a high compression push rod motor. One of the things I can give Ford credit for was their effort and use of overhead cams in their V8 engines

The Blazer has a gauge on the dash marked "ALT" that shows whether or not the alternator is charging. I see that it is charging with the new one but you should of checked that to see if the old one was charging before you just started changing parts.

Can’t wait to see how Best Buy adapts the 1.5 din factory radio to the double din you bought. I know metro sells a new dash bezel that adapts it but you have to modify the radio bucket in the truck. Either way 👍🏻👍🏻

You can get the alternator recored and even turned up if you want. Cheaper than a rebuilt unit and usually runs better.
Mike that radio wont work in the blazer. U have a din and a half setup from factory, you can only run single dins or the ones with flip ups in that truck
Owen Sanders there’s a website called thedetailss who makes double din kits for the 95-99 ck trucks. You have to trim the bezel inside the dash a little but it works nicely. I have one in my 96 single cab

Mike don't disconnect the battery by the positive terminal, that's a good way to electrocute yourself and/or short something. Always remove the ground/negative.

I just fucked up my alternator mudding and had to replace . Not even crazy deep mud but still fucks it up. Had a brand new battery so didn’t have to replace it. Just charged it right up after I replaced the alternator.

Best to recharge battery before start. In emergency you can, but hardest thing on an electric motor(starter) is low voltage. Just fyi for future to help cause less problems. Thanks for the video SS717
I’ve owned 5 gmt400s. Every single one had this problem and it was from bad cable connections. Some on battery, some on alternator, and some the ground on frame. Check every and all battery connections.
FYI- a 13mm and 1/2” are the same size 👍

It’s not easy cause on those trucks you need to replace the tensioner idler pulley anytime you take those belts off you need to do them
Get a bigger alternator than stock if u have to jump people it makes it so amazing my dads old suburban has a bigger one and it jumps cars like its nothing

@ Street Speed 717 i had that identical radio in my 03 impala, worked great for such a low price.
Once you upfit an old vehicle with a nice radio, you would be supprized how much it modernizes it. Same as detailing an old interior, people always start putting more care into there old vehicle when its a nice place to be.
Jump starting it and checking the alternator with a basic meter tells you everything. Should be about 14 volts
Having a good digital volt meter laying around can save a lot of trial and error headaches in situations like these.

My car still has a cassette deck. I use that adapter thing that goes into the cassette deck like a tape, and I plug it in to my phone.
