That is so awesome You ought to write a book with all your hacks and stuff in it I think that would be something really cool I would love to have it I love reading about different things and how to pack and everything I screwed up this time but we won't talk about that lol
Great video. I like having a scarf with me when I’m traveling because some countries when I visit the religious/holy place of worship you need to cover your head, or shoulders or your legs. I also like to bring a scarf that’s a little heavier material so if I get cold on the plane I use it almost like a blanket. Thanks for taking the time to do and post this video and all the others you do. Take care and God bless.
BTW - a friend of mine recently suggested we have a scarf exchange with our group of lady friends - I am going to set up one of those with a potlluck, or wine night, because I wear scarves a lot so many people have gifted me ones I don't really wear or that don't match my wardrobe. I'm sure we all have some of those, that would match other's perfectly. We should start a scarf exchange meme for ladies who lunch or have book clubs.
I am loving this video! I travel to Europe in fall, winter, and/or spring. (Paris & Brussels next month!) Less expensive and less crowded. I only use a backpack, so I take 5 solid shirts, 3 pairs of pants, 3 solid cardigan sweaters, and 6 scarves to magically make my outfits different each day for a 10 day trip. =)
I lived in Milan ,working for fashion industry for many years and I have seen all these ways of tying scarves , but....the last one ,where you create a top with sleeves I had never seen before, very good idea !!! 👏🏻👏🏻💡🍀
Laurie, thank you for these scarf-tying designs - they're wonderful! And thank you also for all your travel tips. I appreciated knowing many of them while traveling during this past summer. I love your positive, happy attitude and your smile as you share your experience and practical knowledge. I can tell you truly want your audience to have safe, enjoyable, efficient vacation trips. Wishing you and your family happy travels and much continued success!
Your scarf video is amazing...but my favorite of all is using the scarf to create an arm cover jacket or "shrug" type thingy is brilliant!! LOVE IT. I can now wear my sleeveless dresses and tanks I've been neglecting (because I don't like showing my arms) for all this time because its been too hot to wear a jacket with them. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
Hi Laurie-I’m a scarf lover and have at least 30 of them. these are some great scarf ideas not just for travel, but all fall and winter long. These will elevate my wardrobe for sure in the office too. And your hair is dorbs
This is a fun video! It’s always nice to elevate our travel outfits a bit to make the journey at least seem a little more special. And scarves make great souvenirs! Thanks Laurie!
I love, love that Talbot's leopard scarf !! Talbots was one of brands ( J Crew ,too ) I was shopping a lot from their catalogs & also at shops way back in the 80's ! They were a bit too traditional/ conservative to me then as I was still clubbing & very young ! Lol. I'll be rewatching this video later again & practing at the same time !! Lol 👍
I decided on a recent trip to Germany and France that I would make scarves my souvenirs. I thrifted four in my Colors in Frankfurt, and bought a beautiful new one in Heidelberg.
Love this video! Thank you. I always take a couple of scarves when I travel- they take up so little apace! It is so easy to dress up a T-shirt or plain sweater…as well as it’s an extra layer for warmth in a room with AC or a breezy spot.
Fantastic tutorial Laurie!! I always travel with a few silk scarves, they take up virtually no space and are so versatile. It can make one layering piece and 2 shells into so many different outfits!
Love this Laurie! I’m always buying scarves and seldom wear them. You’ve motivated me to add a few to my suitcase. We’re leaving on Monday for a New England/Canada cruise. Excited to get away from this muggy Houston weather. 🙂
Thank you this is so awesome My mother brought me a beautiful scarf from Paris and I haven't worn it cuz I don't know how so now I know That's really I love it thank you keep it up.
I love scarves! Thank you for the styling tips! Since I am going to Istanbul in November, I will have to pack a couple of scarves because of some of the religious places I will be visiting. e.g. you have to wear a scarf to cover your head when visiting the Blue Mosque. And since I will be in Istanbul, I will be buying scarves to bring home, too. In Türkiye, you will find some of the most incredibly beautiful scarves. Note: I bought the Infinity scarf for my last International trip and was pulled aside while going through security for additional scanning because the zipper set off the alarm. My suggestion is if you are wearing this scarf on the plane, take it off and put it in a bin so avoid being pulled aside for additional scanning.
Oh yes, I bought some gorgeous featherweight scarves at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul years ago that I still regularly wear. Gorgeous gauzy cotton, silk and silk cashmere blends, that were so reasonably priced. A definite souvenir to pick up while visiting! And I always travel with scarves as an easy way to change up the look of my basics!
Ohh ! I love this !! I used to work at retail stores & I learned how at one of 'em ,also many years later by watching QVC channel's demonstrations ! Lol. But,it's been a long while ,I forgot how ! So,thanks !! Because I've been thinking about trips this fall/ early winter, which I'll be using scarves/ wraps a lot ,I am thinking of doing so ! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🛳✈️🚈💕💞
Love this video!!! I always bring a few scarves with me. They are great accessory pieces, and can make a couple of outfits using the same top (I always bring a wrinkle spray, spray the pits, press with an iron- and the top smells like it has been freshly laundered). Blessings! P.S.-if looking for inexpensive, but beautiful scarves-Temu!
I purchased the black tiered sleeveless dress, and plan on wearing it in Paris... But I was afraid it wouldn't be dressy enough for Le Grand Colbert. Solution: A SCARF! Thank you for your fabulous video!
That top/sleeve style is essential if you are wearing a sleeveless top in a hot country where you have to cover up to visit temples or churches. Keep another long scarf in your pocket or purse to make an instant sarong, since in many tourist destinations women need to be wearing a skirt to enter a temple.(I still have the scarf I bought in Indonesia in 1997 to make a skirt to cover up my hiking pants for a day of touring temples.)
Great video, Laurie! I love, love, love scarves! They elevate even the most casual outfit! Because I wear them a lot, a couple of friends, and my granddaughters gift them to me. I particularly love cashmere or alpaca scarves in the winter ... and in hospitals where most of us freeze! Thank you for this tutorial and refresher! 😊❤ Shirley ... also from Texas
I have been using her tips for carry-on suitcases for several years now. It works out great, especially if you're running from one plane to the other, and it's not your fault!
I never take good jewelry with me. Even , my wedding set stays home. I told a friend of mine that on a trip to Rome and other places I was leaving my good jewelry at home. She thought I was crazy as most of the best jewelry is made in Italy. I said yes however there were still Gypsies and thieves and I still left my good jewelry at home.
I am taking a scarf, but it's wool and short. Thin drapey scarves make me look short and matronly (you cannot hide the 'girls with a scarf. Nothing works!)
I love your fashion sense and ideas. However, this is for travel. Your first scarf example and others could be grabbed by an and used by an attacker to grab the ends, choke a woman and render a woman unconscious, since it is wrapped around your neck, not just once, but twice. We cannot be too careful when traveling.
In theory the scenario you describe could happen anywhere, and indeed the good old USA has more violent crime than most countries we typically see Laurie talk about traveling to. So does that mean we should never wear scarves? I'm just not willing to be that fearful.

Wow, I didn't realize there are so many ways to tie a scarf.

So needed this video. I have always traveled with them. Thank you sweet Laurie ~
So glad!
Love having a scarf with me. Especially for my curly hair because the airplane seats cause so much frizz.
Oh I bet so 😂
The oblong scarf is the best, most versatile IMO, too. I like one for in the plane to avoid drafts . . .. it all makes sense!! Thank you
I really love these!

For me, a scarf can take the place of a chunky necklace.
Ooh nice! I love these but they are quite voluminous for packing...but can mix and match.
