I was first listening to this video with my AirPods Pro on my iPhone. I switched to another set of headphones on my Mac that I normally use to listen to your videos. I couldn't tell as much of a difference with the AirPods, but on my old Sennheiser HD-25 IIs, I noticed a difference as I went through and compared a couple of videos. The Rode Pod Mic sounds more upfront but retains some good warmth. The Shure does give you a good stage for your voice, but I feel allows more space and "airiness" that doesn't feel like you are 1cm from my ear, lol. It definitely sounds like a fantastic mic for something like audiobook narration or voice communication, but I have to admit through my Sennheisers I do still prefer the Shure. However, the other equipment does look rather nice, and I've looked into these before. The arm and cables look solid. I appreciate they include a QA checklist. It would be interesting to see the Rodecaster in use as a demonstration of what it can do. In fact, going through the entire setup to see how the equipment works with your existing workflow would have been huge bonus points and a lot of potential value, but indeed probably very time-consuming. Perhaps we can see it in the future? :)
A quick note, you had a potential Recut issue at 0:54. I am presuming you are still using Recut. For some reason, it appears your talking was cut off prematurely at that timestamp.
I would give the audio quality of the Shure a 9 out of 10 and the Pod Mic a 7.5 out of 10. I think people will not notice a difference if listening through most headphones, but a Sennheiser HD 800S (which I've listened to you on) or even this HD-25 II may tell a difference.
I hope you are doing well! So awesome you got some quality stuff from Rode to review. Look forward to more content.

Thanks for the valuable feedback as always :)
I've got extended videos planned with the setup to go through my extended thoughts and workflow, plus I might do individual reviews at least with the Rodecaster as it's really impressive. Also, good to hear your thoughts on the sound of the Rode vs the Shure! I haven't spent enough time listening to the Rode to fully formulate my thoughts yet but my first impressions are also leaning towards to Shure but I have been able to spend a lot of time perfecting the sound from that one so we'll see :)
Good note regarding that spot at 0:54! It was actually a manual cut because it was unfortunately the best spot to cut (I spoke again immediately after). Not my best cut haha
And thanks for the email! I'll reply soon :)

Thank you. I’ve bought all this gear myself to start my YT. But I don’t have the caster duo. As a sole YT er would I need the caster ? Ta

Nice!! I'd say you you probably don't need it as a solo UA-camr. It comes in more handy when doing multiple mic setups or when streaming :)
