    Haven’t even started using pastels yet. Bought some and now reading and learning about how to use them. This was most helpful . Thank you.

    This tutorial was SOOO relaxing. Someone gave me an art pad and a set of pastels to keep me busy while at home during the coronavirus outbreak, and now I know plenty of great techniques from your video. Also, you have a very appealing, soothing, non-threatening way of speaking and presenting yourself. You would make a wonderful art instructor at a college. Anyway, your tutorial was enchanting; I really enjoyed it and I learned a lot.

    It is refreshing to see an artist use the Faber Castell mini soft pastels. I like the sharp edge, too, and bought them as I am just starting out and wanted the best number of colors to try in a good quality soft pastel. I wish there were more of the blue and purple hues, but trying them is how I found out. Nice video!.

I haven’t worked with them in years, but now, I must try the powdered flowers and the blend of alcohol & powder. The tracing technique will open up some great possibilities for me!

    Really good! I've only recently begun to dabble with soft and oil pastels (normally work with watercolor and acrylic), and there's so very little out there on Kindle for the chalk pastels. I used them tonight (not so well), so they're definitely tricky. I learned more from this brief video than any 2-hour long tutorial on YT. Thank you so much and happy to subscribe to your channel here. 😉

    Wonderful video, great tips, luminous pastel work. I don't know if you are still reading these comments, but a question. Did you remove the pastel pigment from the area you added your figure, or did you use fixative and add color over what you had already done? It stands out so nicely, but I would think the colors would mix and it would be muddled if one tried to just go over so much pigment already there?

    • @UnmaskArt
      @UnmaskArt  Рік тому

      Yes, I still read comments. I did not remove any pigment or use fixative. Using pastel pencils over soft pastel removes a lot of the soft pastel naturally. It takes some effort to get the pencils working over such think layers, so it is something to keep in mind.
