@@lrbroccoli 🥰💋❤Many of us feel this way. I suppose this is why we gather here. This is our precious fleeting life. It's the beautiful heavenly gift we can open in each our own way. We preppers, the wiser I like to think, live our lives off the grid because being independent of societal convention (and bogus limiting retrictions) are basically prepared for anything. This "Living in the Now" and not for tomorrow makes for a richer more peaceful, secure and rewarding life. I know you feel it too. Still though, we are made secure by embracing all the best while preparing for the worst. I'm happy every day. I sleep like a babe at night. And I love the courageous hearted! Just you reaching out makes me bubble up with joy. Thank you. Socializing to the very limited degree I do, only takes place with my UA-cam friends. We find each other! And otherwise, we are at peace amidst the woodland fairies. So, great quote! The origin of everything comes to us through God anyway. We are the messengers of unconfitional love & beauty. Rock on Soul Brother. Rock on in this very magical moment of today.

@@LibertyWarrior68 The incessant chatter and overstimulation even apart from all the misinformation and distraction is intensely disruptive to a man's ability to think independently, wisely, calmly.
For centuries, just living was the thing that mattered and physical health was only an issue when a person got sick (symptoms), but then people realized that prevention was the right way. However mental health was still neglected, but many have learned that prevention, mental health exercise and such, is the best way again.
Now we have an epidemic or pandemic of psychological illness. The treatment and prevention for this is the same - Detach from the artificial inputs, return to things that are psychologically healthy.
      - Time of solitude (especially for men) preferably in the wild.
      - Use of Manskills to solve everyday tasks instead of apps and credit cards.
      - A psychological healthy diet of genuine relationships meaning in person, face to face. Meeting around the campfire is best.
      - Reading good books that are not destructive to a man's soul, but instead bring out his best self. Enlightenment era great books exemplify this.
Indeed these words are thousands of years old but they need to be heeded more than ever:
      Prepare your hearts and minds

Our actions are the only things that define us. Our thoughts are our own, and regardless of what they are, they should not be condemned. But our outward actions can, and should, be judged. _How_ you live, i.e. how you conduct yourself, matters. Death is nothing more than our final act(ion).

I made the mistake of letting a coworker in a indirect way know I was a prepper last year. I thought this man was a stand up guy, and I knew he had a wife and children so I tried to help him and his family by subtly give him advice/information on setting food aside for an emergency. I thought we were good but this guy about 3-4 months ago at lunch in our break room made a huge production about my advice in front of everyone. He tried to shame me for being a paranoid/crazy prepper, and made fun of me having food set aside. He made a very big deal out of it. Anyway now they are talking about a second lockdown over this horse shit and the D variant of the Coof. Again we were in the breakroom and he starts in again about my advice and prepping then he states "Well, I dont need to prep, anything goes wrong and I will just go to your house!" I get very serious and I tell him If anyone comes to my home during a SHTF and they are not a friend or family it will be very bad for them. To which he says"What you going to shoot me!" To which I said Yes! So lately this same guy has been trying to find ot where I live by trying to shame me by saying"What you dont trust me?" To which I say No I dont trust you as you have proven to be untrustworthy! Needless to say I have a job interview this Monday and if all goes well I well be out of there and on to a better paying job and better yet anonymity.

As someone who loves histroy I couldnt even comprihend people having such a silly view before I saw it. You see when in the napalionic wars France massively expanded its army but kepts the suply traint the same size, so they where forced to live off the land (take food from the locals wherever they went) this resulted in even the most law abiding and central government following people like north germans forming bands and fighting french musketeers with clubs and axes. You see if someone takes all the germans food and seeds so the german is gona starve he runs to his neibors house and warns him of what the french are doing and so the news spreads and so when the french turn a corner they get attacked by all the neiborhoods farmers who had their food stolen and would have their food stolen because the dozen musketeers might shoot some but in the end 10 to 1 they will lose and all the german households will get their food back even if some died to make it happen (even those who died by shot or bayonet would be happy because their family will get their food back and will live on rather than the entire family slowly starving).

Very basic things. The huge majority of Americans are horribly unprepared for even a small emergency that lasts a week. A week without electricity or gasoline is just devastating. My mom gave me a Preppers mindset as a child. She was a stay-at-home mom and purchased bulk supplies when finances allowed. I remember the Panic of the adults in the neighborhood during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My parents we're already prepared to stay at home and take care of their four boys. The preper mindset isn't necessarily for social or natural upheaval. In my lifetime the SHTF on several occasions for me personally job losses etc. I was able to turn to my supplies on hand and more quickly dig out of my problem as a result. The fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper comes to mind everytime I hear critical comments concerning the prepper.

I grew up modeling many of my approaches to life after my dad's parents, who grew up during the Great Depression, and passed on a lot of the philosophy of using what you can, working for the things you want, being patient, and planning ahead. I'm glad you had what you did; it seems it has served you well.

Well said! Being prepared is a mindset, was always told me, I would be thrown out onto the streets when I reached 16. Thankfully I was close to 2 of my grandparents, they tought me many wonderful things similar to yours x
A few years later I did a survival course, needless to say, an opportunity arouse, I gathered cockles & mussels from the shore line, whilst waiting for the boat to take us to the drop off location. One instructor much later spotted the haul, he was 'surprised' but had also spotted I hadn't allowed for water flow through the haul. Ensuring our haul lasted a few days longer, and didn't spoil, he had a bag with holes, allowing water flow to keep the shellfish fresh. It prevented us getting food poisoning & the haul was willingly shared to all.
Survival, preparedness etc is a mindset, not just problem solving, but more. A positive way of life, solution finding with the wilingness to rapidly adapt positively to ever changing circumstances, beyond your control.

    Can they use a snare?
    Can they skin a rabbit?
Can they cook on an open fire?
Do they know you have to cook beans to eat them?
Can they bake bread without yeast or an oven?

I look at it in terms of knowing the “world” isn’t going to end, but the fabric of it will. So what am I willing to do about it. And who’s world, exactly? Not everyone sees the “world” the same way.
Prepping is for me a positive mindset, being ready for the worst, and hoping for the best and knowing the good times from the bad. It means I am optimistic that no matter what happens, my family will be okay. Uncomfortable perhaps, but okay enough.

My favorite thing about being prepared is that when something does happen, it's actually kind of fun for me. It doesn't stress me out because I know I have things in place to ensure my family is safe and secure. And yes, things do happen. Sure maybe not a full on collapse and WROL chaos but lesser problems do occur. I've lived through several incidents myself. These smaller events can really help you to test your preps and make you more prepared the next time.

Also, I grew up in earthquake country in California (yes I left as soon as I could) and learned that even being prepared for the world moving about hard enough for ones house to fall down is not a silly concept. On the Christian aspect, Jesus told us to be ready for the end of the world. That does not say sit there and watch it come. That says BE READY! Love your videos! Keep up the good work.

    Bjorn, Christianity and prepping go hand in hand. The Bible is filled with warnings to be wise and prudent, to work hard, and care for our own families. In the book of Proverbs it says "Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest." And also, "Those who work their land will have abundant food but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty." Of course, there are some Christians who say prepping is showing a mistrust in God to provide for our needs. But that's foolishness in my mind - God does care for our needs, by giving us wisdom and showing us how to prepare for our families in hard times.
