I dont care what anyone says. Rock and Roll bass in all its "simplicity" just sounds bad ass pumping out the 1/8ths. Just pure on in your face low and loud bridging the rythm and lead guitars and timed with the drums. I think by now as a bassist what i think of slap and funk. Cliff Williams and whoever else played Rock and Roll bass.
