Tamara Taylor and Labamba SE 2010 RSPI Stallion ("Ritchie") schooling at home (Horse in Hand Ranch, Blackfalds, AB) January 30, 2024 with Coach Jenn Rodehutskors. Here we are working on getting more adjustability in the canter. What I am loving is that he is more responsive to going bigger/smaller with my seat. I am still struggling with getting the BIG canter. I know there is a mental component (fear) that is somewhat holding me back but I also realize that I may be causing him to hollow his back by pushing him away with a driving seat. I also find that he is still throwing his haunches to the inside. This is much less crooked than its been in the past but still a work in progress. I am using counterflexion in true canter and counter canter exercises to strengthen him and get him straighter through his body.
