I think this one is my favorite of your paintings!
WOW...thank you Andrea! It was fun adding in all those layers...I'm all about layers as you know! Thank you for peekinng in on me!
The genius of Denise Cerro! I love this process so much!
I've been called a lot of things...I think I like genius the best! Thanks you for that Nancy...and for taking the time to watch and all your great questions! I hope my answers were helpful!
It’s a stunning piece, loved your video! Thank you
Thanks for the love Janet...and watching the video. Happy to have you here!🧡
Always learn so much watching your process, Denise! Wasn't sure about that last stencil (Loved the addition of the color) BUT when you added the Stabilo...it pushed it back to perfection! Beautiful!
Thank you Lynn for the great comment! To be honest, I wasn't too sure about that last stencil either...I liked it clean and simple...but it ended up working, especially the addition of orange. And yes...STABILO always saves the day!!! Have I mentioned 50,000 times I love that little mark maker? Thanks again Lynn...we seem to be on the same thought pattern on this one!
Beautiful piece Denise! Really enjoyed this video. Love the stencils. : )
Thanks so much Pat...so glad you enjoyed it! You know how much I LOVE laying papers down and mixing them all up together with paint and now stencils! Thank you for watching Pat...I love seeing you here!

Wonderful Elora...so glad you were able to pick up a tip or two! Thank you smooch for watching and leaving me a note!🌷🌷🌷
Great video-thanks for sharing❤
And thanks for watching Lynn. I did this project a year or so ago, and your sweet comment brought me back to watch it again! That was kinda fun as I don’t often rewatch my videos once they’re out there…I remember how much fun I had with this one! Thanks for that!🧡🧡🧡
Very cool! You have such a vision, such an eye ... I guess that's why you do what you do ... and are so talented!
You are making me blush Donna! I do love mixing it all up and seeing what I come up with...so glad you enjoyed it! And thanks so much for watching and sending me a comment...I really appreciate you for that!
See you next time Donna!
@@cerropaint I think we have a friend in common...Bob Cerro... Steve turned me on to you, knowing my taste in art, he said you need to look at Denise's work 😊
Wow Donna…Of course I know Bob and Steve…Bob was my brother in law…I was married to his brother John…hence Denise Cerro! What a small world! The Cerro’s are a wonderful family, I always hope I do the name Cerro proud…sounds like maybe yes if they are recommending me! Thanks for mentioning that Donna, that is so good to know!🧡
Very nice Denise, so enjoyable to watch. Loved the background you started with and the b/w flowers. The colors you added were again perfect .The combo of pink ,dark red and then the orange....it really works. It always seems a bit of a puzzle when you are layering and detailing ,ever changing the look. It's such a fun, inspiring process to watch. Beautiful piece Denise. Have a great week. : )
Hi Ina! This was really fun to work on...I loved the project and that StenicGirl invited me to share it. I almost didn't have time, but then got into the creative energy of it! As usual...when i figure out my colors first, things come together pretty easily...as long as I don't stray too far off track! You have a wonderful week too Ina...thanks for your great comment!🧡🧡🧡
A thoroughly enjoyable video Denise. I love your longer vlogs where you demonstrate your process. The floral stencil in the background just makes the painting. Really gorgeous. Thanks for sharing as always (-: Marion 👏🏼❤️
Thank you Marion! I was worried I didn't have enough stencil in this piece for the project...but StencilGirl was happy to show a different way to use thier stencils. So happy they invited me to do this project...and that you enjoyed it! Thanks you for always showing up Marion...I love that about you!
Denise, I just cannot stop watching your videos - it's cutting into my time in the studio right now! I do have a question about your use of varathane and house paints...are they archival? And (okay, two questions) why do you use them as opposed to artist acrylics? Thanks!
Hi Laura…thanks for watching and I’m sorry I’ve pulled you away from the studio!🤭 To answer your question…not archival! I gave up thinking my work will be around 100 yrs from now and if it is I’ll be giving painting refurbisher’s work! 🤗 I only use whites and light colors in house paint, the darker colors may fade over time. I love how creamy and opaque house paint is…and mixes well with my artist acrylics. Same with the Varathane…it’s water based, doesn’t yellow and goes on so smoothly…and cost so much less than artist mediums. Hope that helps. Thanks again Laura for taking the time to watch!🙏🏻
I can definitely can get behind less expensive! Not yellowing is archival enough for me. 😁
Love it Denise!!!! Can’t wait to take one of your classes 🥰
Hi Sylvia...I've got one coming up on June 25th...then I'm not sure when I'll be doing another one. I would love to see you in class!🧡
Is Venetian plaster similar to a moulding paste that is available in smaller quantities? Have you used it?
Hi Janet. Venetian plaster is really hard, it's made out of marble dust...so when dry it becomes very hard and stone like. Molding paste is an acrylic and doesn't harden the same way. You can certainly use molding paste for stencils for sure...I always have Venetian plaster on hand and that's my personal favorite though both work just fine. Thanks for watching Janet...see you again soon!🧡
I’m the President of North County Society of Fine Arts, and hope to meet you someday. I was introduced to your work by Lori Oberg who has become a friend on an online art group bc she complimented me so frequently on my posted work . When i found out she is nearby in murrietta, I was happy that we could meet. I’m in Escondido! Small world, since you are active here too!
It is a small world…I used to live in the old historic district of Escondido…I’m in Encinitas now, though my studio is in Liberty Station. Where is the NC Society of Fine Arts?
Me: "get moving, I've got soooo much to do today." Also me: "oh Denise has a video. I NEED to watch this....." and sits down with coffee. Excellent , as usual. And so dang inspiring!
I love this story Cher…thanks so much for being a fan and taking the time…
I love that!!!🧡🧡🧡
Thank you so much ....love this process!
This was so fun to work on Kim...Stencil Girl sent me the stencils and let me do my thing...always my favorite way to go! Thanks so much for watching!🧡
