Those pointed bumper guards on the Cadillac are lovingly referred to "Dagmar's". Back in the 50's and 60's there was a movie star named Dagmar. She stuck out like the bumper does, if you know what I mean. You can google her name. I'm 72 and like them both!
That tail light on the Cadillac is not for gas, it's for blinker fluid.
That Caddy is definitely restorable. Put floors and quarters on it. You'd be 1/2 way there. I hope you don't hack this one up. Hope you had a great vacation.
CADILLAC she had the look so glad it got saved 😁
That caddy bumper is cool.
Parts like the taillight lens, the windshield, rear window and side glass look good and you could get a nice profit from them and other parts Silas. Caddy restorers are always looking out for factory parts.
Might help if he hadn't already sold it
The old Baker and the Caddy are two which, if repaired, would be a movie set dream! Such cool old boats! Hope you had fun in Central America and took in the native culture and critters. Glad to have you home, Silas.
On them buses no air pressure means brakes will be locked. You either have to air them up or cage the chambers
Push hard enough , they will move ;-)
Electric hydraulic brakes are also quite common on school buses, promoted because these part time drivers don't have to get an air brake endorsement. Possibly the parking brake simply wasnt released
I love that old Cadillac! Sweet! You done good Silas! Put some money into it, and you can make a lot of money on this to a collector!! I would love ❤️ to see it restored!
Stay safe, and God bless! 🤗
You have some nice finds there today. I like both the Studebaker and the caddy . I’m glad you found a home for the caddy. And thank you so much for taking the time to share with all of us. I just love your videos keep the coming. And try to stay cool out there.
Silas, I'm pretty sure you can eat your breakfast with that loader, you use that like Leatherman.
Thanks for sharing. Congrats on flipping the cadi very quickly. Have a great vacation.
I like all three, the Chevy, the Studebaker and especially the Cadillac; the '55 is one of my favorite Cadillac years. Last year for the 331 engine, and that one is a Coupe De Ville with factory A/C. My first thought was that you could part it out and get your investment back many times over, but I'm happy to know that someone bought the whole car.
Having restored a '54 Cadillac and a '56 Lincoln, I can attest that old American luxury cars are expensive and difficult to restore to original, especially with such rust damage, but this one is still doable. Failing that, it would make a helluva good donor car for another restoration. For $600, I'd say you got a great deal on it.
I liked the tractor, I would have paid $500 but I live in a different country.. running and fully working here they are about $3000
Both cars were great fun to see and hear about. Never been a Studebaker fan so my vote is for the Cadillac. Lots of new parts needed to repair all that rust
No sir, Elvis would be proud of you! ☺️
I love the old Cadillac bullet bumpers
Good buy on the Cadillac. Its a doable.
That tail light has fill was my favorite, Silas you need to cut back on the energy drinks, I thought I was going to have a heart attack just watching you.(HA HA HA)
That old Cadillac is savable I hope somebody snatches that up and fixes it! posted this comment and then only couple minutes later found out it's getting saved that's awesome
That caddy is the coolest thanks for showing where the petrol goes in the ole Girl
Caddy was my fave... Can you imagine that restored and painted "Hot Pink"...front bumpers were called Dagmars early on, that later changed to the "Marylyn Monroe Bumper"
Those turn signals on that truck are awesome. Look good on a hot rod. These old door cranks and handles are also awesome. If they are too big where they slide on you put that putty that you mix, put plastic or foil over the shaft, slide crank or door handle, tape in place after it hardens? Remove and yep it works. I do stuff like that if shaft is worn out on the inside!
steady breaker
waking up makes life an adventure!
Sad to hear another factory closing in America 😢😢
Studebakers from My Town South bend Indiana
The cool thing about the Cadillac is with the scoops on top of the rear fenders, it is a "factory" built AC car, not an aftermarket AC ad on.
......and - it looked like all the glass was in good shape too ! I would say $600 was a good deal.
There is some old AC behind the rare-window on the Cadillac .
Nice finde ,and the Studebaker too.
The bumper DAGMARS are a Cadillac feature in the '50's.
Nice to see these still kicking about and not getting crushed... I think all junkyards should have a corner yard full of headlights trim pieces ect before crushing the cars that way parts are still salvageable
Both cars are awesome. But those Caddys have some awesome lines.
Another good video ., like the Bullet Nose and Caddy, Keep up the Good Work Silas
Definitely did not make a mistake! Very cool old car
Hey from Texas really like your videos.I think all the old vintage vehicles are great.I grew up with old Mustang my uncle had. It was a black fastback he liked to race friends. Hope to see more good videos .
Rear glass on that caddy is perfect. That’s a keeper to put on a new frame, new floor boards etc. It has a perfect nice front end. In Maine where I am front the headlight surrounds are always rotted out yours are awesome! Great start for a great ride!!!
20:29 view over your shoulder shows lovely curving chrome trim and the equally lovely back glass from when US made desirable cars.
The truck by far my favorite
Salis that was greatloved it was really great love the caddy the dump cut and crushing to get some crushing done can't wait for next one and have a great trip nice vacation
Two wonderful cars ... that beautiful Caddy would get my vote.
YES!!!!! LETS SEE HIS PLACE!!!
Good solid Stude coupe with the desirable nose, 50-51. Make a nice hot rod.
Guy on the tractor is nuts, $500 sounds like a deal to me on that.
Caddy is a screaming deal at $600 for a coupe with factory air. Flipping it almost instantly is even better.
My dad had a 56 when I was a kid. I was mantastic to ride in. Of the Caddy is my favorite.
Prices fell out here now too ,130 tin / cars , 200 , iron what are,you are getting the same , it really crazy low , they are saying the prices will go back up in November, lol I hope I might be setting on my junk too, thanks BigAl California.
The Cadillac is awesome! Glad she's been saved! That Chev truck is rusty and will definitely be good art...real art! Neat Studie too!
Bet he played 'Farmville' when it came out.
A factory AC 55 Cadillac is desirable anywhere. Builders on the west coast and overseas would give top dollar for the car. I would have jumped on it had it been closer to Arizona. My high school auto mechanic's teacher George Gezelius is still living and is in his mid 80's but is still working on cars every day. He has a collection of 60's International half ton trucks. He drives them every day without AC. He currently has three 49 Stude's and one 1950 all two doors. All run and drive. He used to hear about cars like yours . He'd hook up the trailer and go get it but age and a tight budget is now slowing him down. He is a big wig in the Studebaker club and knows everything there is to know about them. I'd have to toss a coin to decide which car I like the best given I like all vintage tin. If you have a harbor freight near by get yourself a set of big wrenches from them. They have all the way to an inch and a half. I am a retired heavy truck mechanic that bought Snap on and Craftsman all my 40 year career but for home use and light industrial like your situation the Harbor freight one's would be cheap and would do the job on your loader. Great as always Silas.
Nice vintage cars and truck
That caddy is real nice and the bullet nose too
I love the los slung studebakers. I think mind was a commander. A really sweet ride. I love the one my brother had which was a two door sedan. Bullet nose. Nice, love 51 Nash’s too. Sweet comfortable riding car.
I like the Caddy it even has factory air in it.
Old is old, they're all good, your lucky to get them when you do. Thanks for the good videos. Keep up the picture taken!
love the studebaker and the cadillac.
That Studebaker is a keeper for sure. I wouldn't cut off the nose. Sell it complete.
You need a riding lawn mower for the property knock down some of these tall grassy areas!
I like the old Chevy Truck. My dad had a "54 Chevy truck. It was dark green. There are Rt66 clubs that buy old vehicles to restore and use for yard art. Maybe you could look some of them up, someone may be interested. especially in the parts. I'm always happy to see a new video. Stay cool, stay safe and GOD bless
Silas...I really liked the Studebaker and the Cadillac both. Plus I wanted to wish you and your family safe travels on your vacation to Costa Rica! It's such a beautiful place !
Cadillac! Cool Car
I like all 3 of them! Great you sold 55 Caddy! Should be able to sell the 49-51 Studebaker 2dr! Chevy truck good for parts! Take care.

That nose cone on the Studebaker is worth a lot, like a whole lot
cadillac is pritty cool..I would trade my mustang in a heart beat if you was here in canada.glad to see someone bought it..cool old car.
Amazed the nose piece was still on that Studebaker. Most the junkyard videos I watch have them removed already.

Nice Studabaker and Caddy as well as the video!! Boy, are your subscribers climbing fast.
I like them Cadillacs Silas there cool thanks for sharing that video hope you had a great vacation with your family see you soon
The 55 Cadillac could be a great lead sled. Great buy.
All great vehicles. Love the color and patina on the old truck. Stay cool. Peace
Those bullets on the front of the Caddy are known as Dagmars. A lot of those were grafted into hot rods back in the day.
Thanks for lining up all these vlogs. Keeps the momentum going. Hope you had a good break.
I like all the vehicles that you show us thanks again
I see lots of wall art on that Studebaker, great 👍 video, thanks for bringing us along on your day
Hmmm.......

Cool factor........ Caddy

.....watch again - - it was not a Volkswagen......
The Cadillac was awesome!
Caddy is a great buy and sell congratulations on that
Nice save on the 55. I have a 54 and a 56 paid 500 a piece the 54 been on the road since i bought it and I'm about to start the 56 I've been getting parts together and have just about everything. Recently I've located a pair of 55's one's a runner.
Love the Caddy...cool Studebaker...would love an old skyhawk
That blue dumptruck would make a great hauler for you silas with your logo on the side of the dumpbed.
Silas, definitely the old Studebaker was my favourite. The old Caddies were just big boats with horns in the front and fins in the back. All the fancy gadgets had a f history of stop working and a pile of my to fix
Morning Silas!! Bum's me out when you scrap these old trucks, I understand you have a business to run....I'm a vintage truck guy.... pretty cool Caddy...lot of good parts.. anyway y'all be safe!!! God Bless!!!
Caddy, defo a restorer !
cadillac always the best
I the studebaker and the caddy both are pretty cool
I like the Studebaker best. As a matter of fact, I think it would be nice with a small block Chevy engine and trans. C2C I believe has replacement floor pans for this car. If you weren't so dang far away, I would buy from you. Got stop cause I like it so much.
I like this cat he's all right
That's a pretty cool steering wheel.
Love the Cadillac... thanks for the great content.
Cool always cool stuff always thanks 😎 👌 👍
Another good one, my friend. Keep it up!
All were awesome.
I liked the Caddy . my uncle had one when i was a kid
M8, it's not a tree spider. Obviously it's a 55 hood ornament spider 🕷 👍👍🇺🇸🇭🇲 Very rare.
I liked the caddy .because before my dad died.he owned 2 of them just like this one .one white and one black. The white one was our family car every day driver .my dad loved that car .the black car he blew the motor on a vacation trip. I still remember those times many years back in late 60,s .but yes brings back many memories thanks . Russ k ohio .
Cadillac 👍.
👍👍
have a safe trip have fun
I learned to drive with a 1948 Stude Champion, which was pre-bullet nose.
Good to see you save and pass the car on; maybe the buyer would do a video of his plans for the car?
Wow what a cool car that is
I just love how you say wall art
I can just picture all your cars hanging off the wall like 3D but with no spectacles
i like the chevy truck
If that was all the same pieces you showed in a previous video now going to the swap meet, they were from a 1939 Ford Deluxe fordor.
Studabaker then the Cadillac 😊👍
