I had a XXT as a kid back in the day, and this video brought back loads of memories of me racing my buddies (they had a mix of LXTs and RC10Ts). It was a very capable truck back in the day, I stepped up to the Losi from a Tamiya and the difference was unreal. Fun times!!!
Wow... this brought back so many memories. I was a Losi kid and my best friend was Team Associated. My JR-XT usually smoked his RC10T... when it was wasn't broken, which was often I've owned Tupperware that had tougher plastic than Losi back then. 😆
Great concept- I loved this video! More!!!! I have (6) T3's in various states of running/restoration, so I was happy at the outcome. But I do have a Junior T (my 1st Losi car ever) on it's way to me in the mail, so.......
Back in the 90s I was the only one running Associated at my local track. Everyone else was drooling over and running Losi from the LXT, XX, and XXT. I consistently beat all of them with my RC10 Worlds car and RC10T2. Ran both in the modified class.
Man, that XXT looks damn good. It seemed like it just couldn't get turned as quick and pointing in the right direction as the RC10T3 could. I'm the same way about the HW1060 and brushed motors in almost everything, but I just can't go back to using nimh after using lipo. The lipos are such are game changer when it comes to weight, punch, and performance.
Both trucks ran good aris t3 had more punch and at times too much punch too much grip and it would have fast laps but overall less consistent then the xxt that was alot easier to drive in my opinion. Im happy with my xxt it may not get hot lap of the day but ill deff find my way in the winner circle with it mark my words.
Man that was a tasty nibble of the past. Those trucks were King of all tracks and Hobby store counter tops. Getting the transponder is a nice touch man you make me want one and I don’t even have a track lol
Loved that video , I used to have a rc10t3, my first TA kit , even back in the day the Losi was a little more fragile on the front end than the T2/T3, you could by alloy front bulkheads and a beefier plastic one as well a bit like RPM stuff, anywho great stuff
in the era of those 2 trucks, losi won more races at the club level and had many national wins with the losi xx truck, associated t3 was the more difficult setup, to keep up with the losi xx. i see this video as driver error. competing rival brands of rc is a good idea. now put a 10×1 brushed motor in each and let the dirt hit the fence.
Wow this takes me back, I used to race the XXT, same truck and my friend had a new at the time T3 just out. The XXT was a better car to drive from what I remember it was more forgiving, and since we were 12, it was the better truck.
9:41 the music sounds a LOT like the chord progression for Back in the Village by Iron Maiden "White flag's shot to ribbons. The truce is black and burned"
I still have both my 10T3 and XXT from the 90's. I raced both and they were very competitive trucks. My fav was the Associated. The metal chassis had a different feel to me. I wacked them both hard on the track and bashing. I never saw a Losi bulkhead break under normal aggressive and conditions. Was it brittle or made with sub standard plastic? Anyways thanks for your vid and hard work. 😃
It seems that all vintage Losi costs a premium price these days. While vintage RC10 stuff is expensive... Losi is catching top dollar. Sorry about the super late response. Tuff to keep up with the comments these days but thanks for your support.

Cool video. Not surprised to see that XXT suffer that specific failure. Unfortunately the plastics from the day don't age very well. I've got a few XXXT's but I don't even really want to drive them for fear of breakages. That front bulkhead fitting was a common failure point for the XXT's. Interestingly even though I really love the Losi stuff my first stadium truck was a T3. It was excellent.
@@tallguygaming409 I've got a few old Losi trucks sitting on the shelf. one XXT and a few XXXT MF's. I've got an old almost perfect Junior T and an LST (I think it's an LST) as well. If so, can you please let me know what size they are? Most likely from a hardware store. Thanks for the retro channel! It's awesome! I too, am a retro guy and run brushed! Ha!
No surprise the losi broke! This truck was plage with this problem. I remember racing agents these back in the day, it seemed half of them never made it to the finish line. On paper the losi was great, on the track... Well point proven. The association the t3 was a well built truck, I still race mine to this day. With only a few weak points. 1 the front cross member would break, you can still finish a race with this problem and 2 the rear a arm mount (inner) would break on consent jumping . But if you took this to the track to race . No problem, only a problem for basher in extreme conditions
