As a Swede I have yet not seen anything bad made by Dorsin. His way to put humor, words and music together is mind blowing. It’s to bad that we are only 10 million Swedes that fully can enjoy his performances!
This song is from Dorsin's Christmas concert: As the goat is burning (The Swedish city Gävle has an anual Christmas goat made out of straw, and every year, someone sets it on fire). The entire concert is brilliant, which is what you can expect from everything Dorsin does.
Henrik Dorsin is indeed a genius. Everything he does (acting, writing, singing) is delivered with brilliance. His appearance, musical taste and language seems to be straight out of a long bygone era. He uses this to camouflage messages that are close to revolutionary. There are no other comedians of his level in Sweden and there have not been any since Tage Danielsson died 40 years ago.
I love how this work on so many levels. It's a comment on Santa, but it's also about the fact that some of the best arguments for communism comes from clueless rich guys who think it's an argument against one thing, when it is rather an argument for the other thing. No one can sell anti-capitalist ideas quite like the capitalists.
Something that wasn't reflected in the subtitles was how Henrik rhymed things. Like lika ("the same"), rika ("rich") and skrika ("scream"), and Lenin, that being menin' (mening, i.e. "firm opinion") and mediatränin' (mediaträning, "media coaching"), and also rhymed on Satan with gatan ("street") and prostatan ("prostate"), and fina ("nice"), Kina ("China") and skina ("shine"). Pretty clever
Henrik Dorsin's brother Mikael played for the Swedish national football team. Quite interesting how a pair of brothers got famous in such different areas.
My favorite "1kg Mjöl" is not subbed in any version I've found sadly. Another favorite is when they were invited to the biggest morning show on TV and ate the hosts body pattern! :-D
You should probably be reacting to Carl-Bertil Jonsson's Christmas if you can find it with English subs. It follows the exact same theme and is a Swedish classic.
It also goes with the theme of this song. As the father so poignant puts it when he finds out that his son has given away a christmas gift that he the moment before had thanked God for it presumably being lost by the postal service: Father: "I have nurtured a communist by my bossom!" The narrator: "You see, Tyko Jonsson belonged to those kind of people who believes that anyone who would voluntarily give something away are communist."
First of all, love the content! Grotesco's opus magnum so far is, in my humble opinion, "Flyktingkrisen - En Musikal" (The Refugee Crisis - A Musical). It's a masterpiece dissecting the events unfolding in sweden during 2015 when the war in Syria resulted in a big wave of refugees from the region. The content is not available in its entirety on youtube and i do not know if there are subtitles available for the available versions. It requires some insight into swedish politics and the state of discourse during that period to "fully enjoy". I recommend that you watch it but I do not recommend that you share your reaction publicly since the comments most likely will flood with political opinions regarding the aftermath and current politics etc. etc. It doesn't seem to fit your style necessarily though I might be mistaken. However, "Communist Santa" sent a little bird with a thumbdrive containing the video last year and I'll happily supply it privately to you and only you, one satire-lover to another. Best of luck and Merry Christmas to all! EDIT: grammar and legibility
For context. NK is a really fancy expensive mall. They also got really cool window displays somewhere around Christmas that you can watch outside. Btw I don't know if there's an English translation for this sketch but one of my personal favorite Grotesco sketches is "Ett kilo mjöl"
@@Pallamut that isn't really true, the red santa has been around since 1881, coca colas ads were in the 1930s and might have popularized it. (At least the red santa tha coca cola based their red santa off has been around since 1881)
Henrik Dorsin is part of the group Grotesco, whom you have seen before. He also written "Tingeling". This perfomance of "Tomten är kommunist" is a couplet written by Henrik. Henrik performes in musicals as in Singing in the rain, My fair lady and other productions. His wife, Hanna, is a member of Grotesco also. She's the nun in "Det är bögarnas fel". Henrik is a genius on writing lyrics with a sharpness in the undertones and catchy melodies.
Of course you recognize the satire from Grotesco. Henrik wrote the script for Grotesco together with another man so most of the jokes there are written by him. He is a genious.
Love your reaction videos! 😃 if you like Henrik Dorsin i can recommend you to watch the swedish movie Triangle of Sadness that was nominated for best feature film on the oscars this year, Henrik Dorsin is in the movie!!
I like what you said that it actually sounds good and you could listen to it. I listen to this every christmas and scream sing to "bögarnas fel" with all my friends, we just change the lyrics to eachothers names
Im a rare sad-sack who dont enjoy humour in music, I understand that I am wrong x) I love music and play several instruments so I should have much enjoyment from it but, no :/ I love Grotesco with all my heart, I even bought their dvd's. Maybe Bögarnas fel is the one I think works for me the most. But I hope I am alone in this, and everyone enjoyes music+humour. This is still a great channel and clip :)
In the 80s the humour group Helt Apropå made a satire of the social democrats with a song Tomten är röd (Santa is red). So it’s not quite a new idea. :).
I want to suggest you react to two tv series where Henrik Dorsin plays one of the main characters. The first one is “Kontoret” which is the Swedish version of The Office. Henrik Dorsin played the character that Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais did. The second tv series I want to suggest has been mentioned by several other commentators on this video, and is also somewhat of a spinoff to Kontoret. And that’s “Solsidan”, where he reprises his character from Kontoret.
you should watch Solsidan the best swedish comedy show so swedish and extremly funny I think. and this guy has the best role "ove sundberg". I must watch in Swedish comedy I that as a swed. "Leif and billy" a satire show about the north of sweden is good to!
Hi, Check ”En gaffel kort”. Before you play it, please have a look at Cornelis Vreeswjik who was a sing and song writer who emerged from the radical flower-power student generation of the late 1960’s. Turned out later that he was quite selfish bastard who really loved to get his ego applauded. Pure genius parody of Cornelis.
I concur on that one. But I want to add one tv series and that is “Kontoret” that is the Swedish version of The Office. Henrik Dorsin played the character that Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais did. He later reprised his character in “Kontoret” in the tv series mentioned above (Solsidan).
You probably miss a bit since you dont understand swedish, most lines he sings are rhyming. "Henrik Dorsin - En gaffel kort" is another funny one of his I think. Its a parody of a famous swedish troubadour's most famous songs. might not be funny without having heard his songs, not sure.
As a Swede I have yet not seen anything bad made by Dorsin. His way to put humor, words and music together is mind blowing. It’s to bad that we are only 10 million Swedes that fully can enjoy his performances!
It matches the Swedish tradition of humor at the universities. Short musical numbers
10 million -1 me
Only 8-9real ones
The Sune films perhaps?

The birds are eating up the goat this year.
Magpies are eating seeds/corn? from the straw@@Steffe

Henrik Dorsin is a great comedian/actor and musician. His characters are so brilliant, you hate them 🤣

@@kattahj brilliant 👏 👌 👍
Just made the same recommenation before scrolling down to read your comment. "Jag har närt en kommunist vid min barm" Kan det bli bedre? :D
Henrik dorsin - en gaffel kort
Is brilliant too
Yes it's genius! However it requires people to know the type of songs Cornelis Vreeswijk wrote.

As a final insult, Santa is dressed in RED. 🎅
That's just hiding in plain sight. Thank god Henrik is on to his trickery! Never trust a fat bloke in a red suit who gives stuff away!
@@klonktorskEspecially when he clearly looks like Karl Marx!
Ironically, the red santa outfit is an invention of the coca cola company, an otherwise icon of capitalism.

Subscribed! Your channel is a hidden gem!
Henrik Dorsin is a beloved swedish comedian that also plays one of the most hated swedish TV characters.
Show: Solsidan
Charater: Ove Sundberg
This is my annual christmas song i listen to every year
Haha, Henrik är så jävla bra!
Dorsin is very upper class, but he associates very much with the lower classes! Love him!

More Henrik Dorsin: En gaffel kort! It is in my oppinion his greatest work, truly hillarious!
The translation was really good ^^
Someone should translate "Jul på pizzerian - Grotesco" for Mert to react to
Who did the English translation? It's well made.
I like what you said that it actually sounds good and you could listen to it. I listen to this every christmas and scream sing to "bögarnas fel" with all my friends, we just change the lyrics to eachothers names
Dorsin is best as Ove in Solsidan.....
I mean the truth speaks for itself, santa is a communist.
The only gifts I'd wish for would be shares in Tesla... or a Bitcoin or two...

My favourite song from Henrik is "En Gaffel Kort"
I don't understand how this isn't huge in Norway. It's brilliant! Never heard of this before. Santa is Norwegian though. Everyone knows that.
Everyone knows that the Santa that brings Easter eggs is Norwegian.
@@dsludge8217: That's ridiculous. :) But everyone agrees that Santa lives near the North Pole, which by definition makes him Norwegian. :)
Finland would disagree…

Can you react to guldet blev till sand by Peter jöback from The musical Kristina från duvemåla. Its The same musical as du måste finnas is from
This is a proper kuplett.
Gävle Symfoniorkester! 🎻♥️
Another comedian /artist you can react to is Markoolio. I love his songs “jag orkar inte mer ” and ”vilse i skogen”
😂 I really enjoy your reaction vids. Just one question: Why Swedish comedy in general and Grotesqo/Henrik Dorsin in particular?
as a marxist this is a new solid argument to make
Jackdaws enjoying the seeds.
As a communist I approve and heartily laugh 😅
Henrik Dorsin - En Gaffel Kort, it's also brilliant, there has to be an english translation somewhere of it :D
Take a look at Robert Gustafsson. Swedens funniest man.
😂😂😂
React to "Swedishness" you will love it 😂

should have ended the song with singing "javisst!"
Refugee crisis- the musical would be a logical next step and also arguably the best Grotesco has done.

Henrik was in the Film ”Triangle of sadness ” from 2022. It won the palm d’or i Cannes 22. I think it’s a 3,5/5. But definitely worth watching.

you should watch Robert Gustafsson mix - English subtitle one of the biggest modern name in swedish comedy
If you like rich people satire you should watch "Solsidan", Henrik Dorsin is in that aswell
