I was pretty young when I first saw this a few years after it was released, probably 4 or 5. As someone who was definitely a Sesame Street fan and also knew the Cinderella story due to the 1997 version, this immediately caught my interest when I saw an advertisement for it on a vhs of Elmo's World. Once I was able to see it, me and my brothers definitely enjoyed it. It was smart to make the change of Elmo simply wanting to experience being at the ball and nothing more than that to keep with his young age and innocent nature. My older brother, who's in between two and three years older than me and was somewhere between 6-7 at the time really got into it, and I can remember him quoting lines and singing certain songs from it at later times. I revisited this a year or so ago, and I find it to be a decent adaptation overall, even if it's not something I'd see myself looking back on that much. I never thought of it back then, but it's very odd that the human princess has muppet parents for some reason.
Most of the songs are decent, but the two that I find stand out are If Elmo Could Go To The Ball and Do Something. The former has a nice melody that feels almost Disney-ish in a good way, while the latter is a fun upbeat song with a solid message to go with it. It's interesting how most of the songs are in F Major, but since F Major and D Minor are my favorite musical keys, I'm all for it. I find it interesting how Elmo attempts to travel in a suit of armor at one point, which I found to be an interesting concept as a kid. Also, I was surprised when I found out that French Steward was in the cast many years later, as I wouldn't have remembered that. As someone who was a big fan of Inspector Gadget 2 later in my childhood, it was interesting revisiting this and fully recognizing him nowadays. Overall, Cinderelmo definitely works well for its target audience, and there's even a few aspects I find of quality even to this day.

Awesome review Rachel, surprised how good this Muppet Cinderella adaptation is. Elmo can be annoying but here he's charming. Cinderella 3 A Twist In Time would still be my absolute fav Cinderella movie though!

I think I'd heard the title of this, but didn't know much about it at all. It sounds like so much fun! I will definitely have to cover this in the future for my Cinderella series on Every Version Ever!
