      Yea it was his severe colon he had such severe impaction it went septic to his blood that's the latest turns out sadly he'd be literally shitting his pants on stage and they had plenty of fresh changes but had they opened up his gut and got rid of the impaction the weight gain wasn't weight he was so impacted he had blown up full of fluid when your taking that many drugs like that they cause severe constipation so it wasn't just his diet or drugs it was sepsis from colon impaction

      He put on a lot of weight towards the end because he had to in order to be able to fake his death, The man that they had found that looked similar to him who was ill and was gonna die shortly was a lot larger than him, so he moved in to live with Elvis and Elvis started to put on weight to match him however since he was ill by the time he died he was actually quite a lot thinner than Elvis so they couldn’t use his body, they used it at the morgue to pronounce death, but then when everyone refused to believe that he was dead & demanded the open coffin they then had to use the wax head that was modelled of him when he was younger in the open coffin which is why when you see his face in the coffin he looks 20 years younger than what he did when he actually died, ie he didn’t actually die he’s still alive now in 2022🤪

    The man was creatively stifled throughout his career. He wasn't allowed to grow as an artist, and the proof is right in front of you. Every single time there was a challenge put to him, he excelled. The Singer Special, the Satellite from Hawaii, and his first return to live performing. Then it was just the same old, same old, all the time.
    You know, he had the talent to be a great actor. I always point to King Creole as an example, and that was very early. He just got boxed into doing all these fluff movies , singing these ridiculous songs, to make easy money for Parker and Wallis, etc... Artistically, they didn't mean anything. Being denied the opportunity to work with Barbra Streisand on "A Star Is Born", was a huge thing. Elvis didn't care if he got top billing, it was his chance to do a serious movie, and test himself!
    In those last years, there wasn't anything to accomplish, AT ALL. The only pleasure he had was eating what he wanted and getting blasted off the pills. He gave up, and that's what I believe.

    • @shackdaddy7106
      @shackdaddy7106 3 роки тому +1

      @@faulltw I completely disagree with you. Elvis was totally irrelevant in the music world from 1961 to 1968. And as far as his longevity goes. For God sake’s are you aware that he died at the age of 42. That is not longevity.
      Colonel Parker was a scumbag who took advantage of Elvis and totally mismanaged his career.
      Elvis‘s music career lasted from 1954 to 1977. Unfortunately from the time he came out of the army until he made his TV come back special in late 1968 all he did were those stupid Elvis movies. So out of a 23 year career, eight years
      were flushed down the toilet.
      And then of course there were the two years he spent in the army. Which he did not perform at all. Elvis was doing his duty so I don’t consider those two years as a waste.

  • @mikenijboer1292
    @mikenijboer1292 4 роки тому +138

    The reason Elvis agreed doing the TV special was because he was almost broke. The main reason Elvis needed the money, was his generosity. He gave so much to charity, many strangers got financial help from him or he bought expensive things for strangers, just to make them happy. His family and friends he paid a generous salary and on top of that, many gifts also. Elvis wasn't perfect, but he never forgot the time he was poor, he didn't spend his earnings for himself. The 42 years Elvis walked this earth, were well spent

      What a legend!

    • @shackdaddy7106
      @shackdaddy7106 2 роки тому +6

      It also must be said that the reason why he did do the television special is that his career was in the toilet thanks for wasting almost 9 years making stupid Elvis movies.
      Thank God Elvis did the show his way and not the way that NBC and Colonel Parker wanted him to do it. Which is sit by the fireplace and sing Christmas songs. That show by itself put him back on the map.
      That was the one and only time after he got out of the army that Elvis put his foot down and did it the way he wanted to.
      Before he went in the army in 1958 his career was far better. He did live performances, made TV appearances and seriously worked on his recording career.
      And the movies he did before he went in the Army ranged from decent to good.
      By far the best movie he ever did was king Creole which was the last movie he made before he went into the army. He got good critical reviews for for the only time in his career. And it was by far his best soundtrack album.

    Elvis was not hugely over weight, yes he had gained some weight but not as much as was said. He was swollen from steroids' he was on for something with his health. Lupus patients have to go on them too and they blow you right up from the face to all areas of the body. His tummy was distended as well, from his colon health probably. Yes, he had a drug dependency and Dr. Nick was right, if he didn't give it to him, Elvis would get it from somewhere. Sad he was dependent on these drugs to sleep and wake up, but the man worked himself to death as well. Elvis wasn't meant to live to a rip old age. People would have been cruel to his aging constantly comparing him to his youth. We all age, no one looks like they did in their youth and we all pretty much gain weight. So why was it so bad when it happened to Elvis?! Just because he was famous, he was still human. So the Lord took him home where he could rest.

    • @waynegrow

      The amphetamine then barbiturates . And all the meds make you crave shitty food. He had mega colon. Heart was enlarged. Four month old faeces stuck in his pipe..common amongst stars. Prince was on amphetamines to keep him up for days then benzodiazepines to bring him down. That really messes with the central nervous system. So you become physically dependant..you function on numerous chemicals until you poly drug with opioids for pain relief then you go over. Involuntary respiratory system fails. It's the lifestyle of performers pushed to the limit. Be it rock stars or actors or just rich people with mad lifestyle.

    This man is the reason that I am who I am today. I was introduced to his music at 5 years old and still am inspired by him till this day at 24. Guys. This man really was amazing. Yes, he had has faults (and those who have not sinned can cast the first stone) but he truly was an amazing human. The things he did for those he loved, hell, to people he NEVER met was second to none. He was the worlds FIRST celebrity in the way we view them today. Nobody had ever received that kind of fame. Yet, he was humble. Saying he doesn’t care if the fans ripped his shirt off of him because they are the ones that put it there. Saying he’s not the King, but Christ is “I’m just a singer”. People that become chemical dependent literally have their brains rewired to point where they want their drug more than they want to breathe. And on top of that, he had severe severe health issues. And let’s not forget the fact of the constant sold out concerts and the stress that put on him. He had so much going on and had a lot of life left to give. Gone way too soon. Rest In Peace to the worlds first rockstar

    Elvis had suffered from insomnia, nightmares, and sleepwalking throughout his childhood, he had also experimented with his mother's pills for varying conditions as a teen. When he became famous he coped at the beginning, but it became a problem the bigger he got. Having to perform day after day with the same energy was a struggle with very little sleep. Elvis was also given amphetamines in the army, for him to stay awake when doing night duties. When he was discharged, Elvis continued his very hectic lifestyle, acting and performing, and was prescribed medications to help him sleep and then wake up. Back in the 60s, many actors, singers, etc were taking uppers and downers, and Elvis got hooked on them, thinking they were ok because they had been given to him by a doctor. He needed to be focused onset and stayed in control throughout his movie-making years, even though he hated a lot of the movies his manager had manipulated him into signing contracts to do. Elvis was in great shape and happy for the next few Vegas years 68-72 but by 72 he was tired of Vegas and the same venues and wanted to tour overseas. Money hungry, gambling addict Parker wasn't interested in what Elvis wanted and Imo played a big contributing factor in his sad decline in mental and physical health. Elvis was also dealing with other ailments, but the pressure, dissatisfaction, boredom, divorce... pushed him into abusing the pills more and more. As for Elvis's eating habits, they have been widely exaggerated over the years No doubt he was doing more comfort eating in his later years, but a lot of his weight gain was down to drug-related bloating. Sadly, by 1977 Elvis had lost hope and was exhausted. RIP Elvis 👑 🐐

I remember the 1st time I actually listened to him, my Walkman was dying and I couldn't listen to my band's demo; so I turned on Elvis and Friends and heard "Gentle on my Mind " and I ran home, listening to my mom's Elvis cassettes trying to find the song. Respectfully, there are a few inaccuracies in this video. Moody Blue did not come out in February 1977. Three of the songs on that album weren’t even recorded until April 77, live and on stage. Moody Blue was released as an album probably around May/June 77. Elvis got an award for the album on June 26.
    Also, Elvis was known for his introducing people during the last shows of his tour. He was recording a TV special and might have thought the cameras were still rolling. And the infamous “til we meet you again, may God bless you, adios” was said on Sunday, June 19, 1977 in Omaha and not on June 26 in Indiana.
    Also Ginger didn’t find Elvis’ body on August 17; but that seemed like a typo ... so I can forgive that one.
    A lot of facts in this video; but some are slightly misleading.

      @Curtis Ostriker You raise a rousing argument but I think you underestimate his talent. Sure he co-wrote only one song but he was only 42 at the time he died. If he got sober and cleaned up his act he would have always been a draw because what you don't understand is that Elvis could out sing everyone you mentioned easily and he sang with pure heart and soul 98% of the time and he was good looking. It would have never been too late for him to go back to his roots and sell a ton of albums. Sorry but your argument would never hold weight and besides any of those artists you mentioned would have jumped in a second to work with him. Elvis influenced both Prince and Michael Jackson heavily. He wasn't the King because he would be a lounge act. He had 1000% charisma. He was the guy who ignited it all for superstardom. Bob Dylan didn't just fade away in the 80s because Bruce Springsteen and a million other songwriters riding his coattails arrived. He eventually took back his place as the best of the best and he did it in his late 50's and early 60's. Elvis could have easily done it too. A lot of the blame on his career was due to Colonel Tom cutting costs to maximize profit. If they went for maximizing artistry, and with the right producer Elvis always had a comeback. So your argument doesn't carry weight.

    • @mysteryjesus
      @mysteryjesus 4 роки тому +6

      @Curtis Ostriker While you can scoff or attempt to make the rules of this debate, while you can praise the merits of the artistry of Prince whom I also like and have a lot of respect for, your reasoning doesn't cut it. The fact remains he is one of the greatest music ARTISTS who ever lived. Elvis never got to live past 42. If he lived to 80, he'd still be one of the biggest acts in the world! Look at McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, any number of 60's and 70's acts who still sellout stadiums and arenas. You think a guy like Elvis who started and influenced everyone on the planet in a myriad of ways including making it okay to perform black music to a white audience in addition to being a top box office draw movie star is going to be relegated to singing in lounges in his later years? You gotta be joking because that is a complete farce. Graceland still draws 600,000 fans a year. He continues to be in the top 10 dead celebrity money makers decade after decade and you think he would have become a lounge singer? You gotta give your head a shake dude. Like John Lennon said "Before Elvis there was nothing". And as has also been said "Before anyone did anything, Elvis did everything." You really need to increase your research into Elvis Presley. You are trying to rewrite history because you weren't even alive when Elvis was performing still to sold out arenas in 1977. He was the first to do a satellite concert. If Elvis was alive he still been an artist doing things first before anyone else. He's only as limited as your mind. For people who truly understand, Elvis has been one of the most important cultural figures ever in the history of the world. I'm sorry you are blind to that.

      The colonel told Elvis that if he didn't do as he was told he would destroy his career. And Elvis knew he would and could. So Elvis resigned with him.

    What would this world be like if we didn't have Elvis? Seriously, it would be so different. Remove every detail he ever contributed and our world would be so different. There would be such a void. Just think of the countless numbers of people who were changed or inspired by Elvis. Without Elvis, they would be different too. Think of how the music world would be today without the incredible contribution from Elvis. JUST THINK OF A WORLD WITHOUT ELVIS...I cannot even go there. Elvis is a true blessing sent by God to make our world a better place with his many contributions. He has helped so many people find God. It always amazed me how Elvis freely played and sang gospel music to his countless audiences. Elvis was not ever ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His endearing love for God was contagious and many grew to find and love God too! So I guess my question is...After all Elvis Presley has and is stil sharing and influencing the world, Have you been changed by Elvis? 🌹❤🙏🎵😇🎯

    Just why was Elvis so active the last night before he (died) he was getting ready to leave the hellish life he was leading, making final plans. Why if he was so sick could he ride the roller-coasters for hours, just days before, how could he handle a large motorbike days before, 14 August coming back from visiting his mums grave... If you can find it there is a telephone conversation with Red West,( which Elvis didn't know Red was taping) states he has never felt better in his life, this was at the beginning of August 77.

      I agree. I also remember them getting a wax figurine of him a couple wks prior. In the hot summer of 77' the wax was starting to melt. Even his sideburns were falling off. They said it took many people to carry the casket because it had an air conditioning unit in it and it was making a humming sound some said. I find it strange that Vernon locked up the cause of death certificate for 50 yrs!! Not trying to get into conspiracies, I'm just repeating what people seen and said that were there that day.

      Elvis self-medicated during his teenage years to treat acne, insomnia and anxiety. Early Nashville was built on a mountain of amphetamines. All country stars took them to cope with the anti-social hours working on the road. Elvis was no different, he just became more dependent on them with the passing of time.
