    The account in Matthew about judgment to come gives the flood as an example. "And knew not until the flood came and took them all away." And then; "one shall be taken, and one left." Who was taken? "The flood came and took them all away." Were they raptured or drowned? One was taken and one was left. Noah was not taken away by the flood, but left behind. It is the judgment that took people away.

      I don't understand your comment. In your first sentence you say You don't know Squat and then in the second sentence you know that at some point Christ will come back and gather His people and judge the wicked. What if he already came back as he promised he would in the lifetime of his followers Matt 24:34

    The doctrine of the secret rapture rests on a bible text in Thessalonians, but the text is inverted to make it fit. The text says that Jesus will descend, but they read that the church will ascend. The text says that we go to meet Him but they say that He comes to meet us. Other than this grossly twisted text there is no Biblical support for the secret rapture.

    Understanding the "Millennium" of Rev. 20 is really not that difficult, as long as we can hang our presuppositions on the coat rack for awhile.
    ***Events leading up to the 1,000 years:
    1) When Jesus returns, His angels slay all the wicked living at the time (Mt. 13:24-30, 36-43; see also, Rev. 19:11-21, where the wicked dead will be a "feast for the birds"; see also, Rev. 14:14-20);
    2) Then, the "dead in Christ rise" to glorified bodies, and the living Saints are "changed" into their glorified bodies (1 Thes. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-55);
    3) Then, all the Saints of Christ are "caught up together to meet the Lord in the air," and Christ leads them into His "father's house" (1 Thes. 4:13-18; Jn. 14:1-4).
    4) The Saints will reign with Christ in Heaven for 1,000 YEARS (it's an HEAVENLY REIGN, not an earthly one!).
    ***During the Millennium:
    1) Satan, and his fallen angels, will be "bound" on the desolate earth (since all the wicked are dead during this time) with no one to deceive (Rev. 20:1-3);
    2) The Saints rule with Christ in Heaven, in the Heavenly Jerusalem, the Jerusalem "above," the "beloved city" (cf. Rev. 3:12, 21:2, 10; 20:9; Gal. 4:26; Heb. 12:22).
    ***After the 1,000 year reign of Christ and His Saints in HEAVEN:
    1) The Heavenly Jerusalem, with Christ and His Saints, descends back down to earth (cf. Rev. 21:2, 10; 20:9).
    2) The wicked dead are resurrected (Rev. 20:5);
    3) Satan goes out to deceive them once more (Rev. 20:3, 7-8), so that they "surround the camp of the saints and the beloved city".
    4) God destroys them all, including Satan and his fallen angels, and the "beast" and "false prophet," by FIRE! LAKE OF FIRE TIME!
    5) Christ and His people inhabit the New Earth for the ceaseless ages of eternity!
    Hope this is edifying to you all.
    Questions? Let me know.
    *Soli Deo Gloria*

      If you read Revelation 20 literally, don't you think you should read Mark 16:16 literally. Or Acts 2:38 and so forth. Unfortunately you are person who comes to the text with preconceived mind. I personally wander does anyone believe in Premillenial dispensation who did not have "counsel" from a family member or well meaning but sadly misinformed pastor.

      Jesus pointed out that resurrection would be only ONE day, where all dead would be brought back to face either judgement or Heaven. If you believe in a Rapture that is one Resurrection secret for the righteous no unrighteous. Then at the return of Christ there will be a second Resurrection. Then after the Millennium and final battle there will be another resurrection of the unrighteous only. According to this confusing belief system there will be either two or two and a half Resurrection sometimes righteous only sometimes unrighteous only or sometimes both together that is completely not in the text and actively contradicts the claim of Christ making him a liar. Yeah, you heard me right, dispensations multiple resurrections and raptures makes Christ a liar.

    I have the firm belief that we are all wrong about at least one thing, theologically. This is a perfect example: either the rapture is real or it isn't. And I'm convinced that when all of us true believers in Christ get to heaven, we will discover what we were wrong about. This reminds me to temper my response to believers with whom I disagree, such as Jeff Durbin.

    There is SO much truth to what is being taught here. The second coming has passed, just like Christ said it would in that generation (Matt 24:34), but the time of the final judgment has not come to pass yet due to the fact that evil is still alive and well in the world. When His kingdom is fully established here on this earth and the kingdom of heaven is revealed, we will all know it. Satan will be defeated, and those who are saved among the nations will practice war no more. We will see God face to face and we will walk in His light. As long as there is evil in the world, the kingdom of heaven has not been establish. Christ will not share is throne with the Devil.
    Revelation 20:10 KJV
    And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
    Revelation 21:23-27 KJV
    23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
    24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
    25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
    26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
    27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

    wow. the belief or non belief in premillenial theology has never been a test of fellowship for me. however when durbin say the wicked are the ones who were taken away in the story of noah makes no sense. the righteous (noah and his family) are the ones who were "taken away" by the ark, in preparation for the destruction of the wicked. noah didnt "stay on the earth", the wicked did. AFTER the destruction of the wicked, God gave noah an earth to inherit and start over...the same sequence of events as the rapture. it is the righteous who will be taken while God destroys the wicked, THEN we inherit the earth. to believe that God will not follow thru on His promises to Israel is crazy. theres NO WAY that tiny nation could still exist without God's intervention. the church has NEVER replaced Israel, but been grafted into it. does this mean jews are saved just because they are jews?? paul says NO. however, God can work thru a people group that he chooses, just as he works thru the "church"..are all church people saved? NO (rom 9 6-8) (rom 4:13) there are tens of thousand of messianic jews who accept Jesys (yeshua) as their messiah. the messiah was promised TO the jews, THRU the jews. we are grafted in and are adopted into the abraham and grafted into the tree.

      You need to look at the book of Revelation in its entirety. Than ask yourself some questions. Firstly who wrote it, second to whom it was written and lastly to which end. And whole book of Revelation will start to make sense and you will find that John was encouraging Christians in seven churches with the message " no matter what you go through, ultimately Jesus wins ". Premillenial dispensation is invention of some deceived people in early 1800. Live your life as best as you can to please King Jesus and love your neighbors and leave future to God. Future is in the best hands.

    Dispensationalism can be psychologically destructvie to Believers. Time and again I have encountered Christians who have become fatalistic and detached because they are certain the end of the world as we know it is near. Being fatalistic and detached is not how God intended us to live in this life.

      Look at the audience and those who were listening. Paul was writing a letter to the Thessalonians, not some generation 2000 years into the future. Soon, at hand, immediately after, etc. doesn't mean in 2000 years. It's as bad as the interpretations of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Somehow Jesus answering His disciples questions about the sacking of the temple and the destruction by the Romans of Jerusalem is him talking to a generation 2000 years into the future. "This generation" is not 2000 years into the future.

      Answer me this. When Jesus is asked by his Apostles in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13, WHEN will these things happen. Are you of the belief that he jumps to the future at some point in answering their question, or does he tell THEM what is in store for them?

    • @rickstark85
      @rickstark85 7 років тому +1

      Paul, I believe scripture was written for those who came after them, obviously. Much of the New Testament wasn't even written in 70AD. So yes, I believe Jesus was speaking of things that have yet to happen. I'm not even sure how you believe your theory is coherent. If this all took place in 70AD, then what are we still doing here? Could you spell this all out for me? I'm not sure where you're coming from here, brother.

    • @PaulChristianJenkinsjd1
      @PaulChristianJenkinsjd1 7 років тому +3

      I'll show you the Scriptures:
      "Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined." Daniel 9:26.
      "For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side. They will level you to the ground - you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.” Luke 19:43-44.
      "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! "Behold your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'" Luke 13:34-35.
      All the above Scriptures have to do with God's judgement on Israel for rejecting their Messiah. Somehow, dispensationalist, i.e. those who believe in the 'rapture,' say these events are YET to come. The devastation that was spoken in these Scriptures happened in 70 A.D.
      All of this 'rapture' theology came about in c.1830 with the Scofield Bible and Charles Nelson Darby. This period coincidentally brought us Mormonism, Seventh Day Adventist, Jehovah Witnesses, and other heresies along with the Scofield Bible.

    Thessalonians says it's with a "shout" with the "voice of the archangel" and the "trumpet" of God. The dead are raised. That is not a secret, silent, event. Jesus said four times that he will raise up those who believe on him "on the last day." Four times. There are no more days after the last day. Jesus did not believe in what's being taught by Dispensationalists. Neither did Paul. Or Peter. Or Jude.

      @@TheDeathInTheAir Jesus never mentioned any 'barley'. He likened the harvest as wheat and tares so I will stick with that. The 1 Cor. 15 order is Christ the firstfruits, followed by those that are his at His coming and the 2 Thess. 1:7 both agree. Seems simple to me.

    Matthew 21:33-44 is used by me to show that Yeshua didn't deliver a different message than that which was delivered by the other prophets before him and actually explains why he was killed...it wasn't so they could be saved but so they justify disobedience. Matthew 23 goes further in explaining this and points out in verse 13 that what bars people from understanding is not Moses or the tabernacle/levitical system but instead understanding it otherwise he would have at some time told everyone that they were freed from obedience to the one who sent him.
    YHWH didn't change just the excuse for not bothering to understand.
    The symbolism used as and meant to be a teaching tool was never the answer in and of itself (Matthew 23;13) the problem became erroneous teachings and commentary that takes people's eyes off the אֵת (Alpha Omega in the Greek) and representedby the nehushtan i in the wilderness...that which is from the beginning with YHWH.

  • @emeraldmcnair3551
    @emeraldmcnair3551 5 років тому

    They weren't taking away they were drowned . Noah was taken away in the ark and how does this teaching fit in with Revelations? I know Jesus is going to reign on earth. Isn't the devil going to try to impersonate Jesus and many people will be fooled. This teaching is confusing. Jesus is supposed to come back with the dead in Christ which will be risen first how does this teaching fit in with this scripture. 1st Thessalonians 4:16. If he doesn't have the dead in Christ and the believers in there Glorified bodies with him that would not be Jesus. It might be the enemy trying to be like God. Which is his desire to be God.

      30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” [36] [e]
      37 “Where, Lord?” they asked.
      He replied, “*Where there is a dead body*, there the vultures will gather.” (Luke 17

      This part shows that the taken away of the prophecy were those who were killed, and the left behind those who were saved.

    Some, on here want to call Jeff durbin a false prophet etc. the Bible says there are many false prophets out in the world who will lead others estray just as it says there will be a great falling away of the faith (revelations) from God in the last days. It also says we must ask God for a spirit of discernment so we can recognize the truth from false and those types of people who are not of God. I seen quite a few of Jeff durbin discussions with other Christian and others from different religions, and what he talks about and how he handles it. I have respect and love for the guy and what he does and how he carries himself and the work he does. Are some things very few that he has said that are questionable and I don’t agree with but from what I have seen is truth backed by scripture and facts but also saying I haven’t been keeping track of him for years and have been looking at his vids for the past two days so there are some that know a lot more about him than I do. Truthfully speaking but let me say this I’m not saying the claims of him being a false prophet are true but we should not pass condemning judgement but pray that if he is indeed a false prophet that he turns from his ways and repents and correct him in love. None of us are perfect, so we can’t cast stones but pray and what he does right or wrong he will have to give Account to God because that’s between him and God.

    Jesus said "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13
    I have a few questions...
    Was Enoch wicked? Is that why he was taken to heaven before the flood?
    Has God destined His children for wrath?
    You mentioned the kingdom of Heaven being like a mustard seed that grows into a tree, but you failed mention that the birds of the air will lodge in its branches.
    Do you affirm expositional constancy in that The Lord has used the same metaphor throughout the scriptures? Leaven=Sin, Seed=Word, Sower=Jesus, Birds=Forces of Darkness, Soil=Heart, etc.
    Regardless of your eschatological position, remember what John said "Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:2-3‬
    And so we look to Him, and hope for the promise of His return, and this is purifying.

      _"Do you affirm expositional constancy in that The Lord has used the same metaphor throughout the scriptures? Leaven=Sin, Seed=Word, Sower=Jesus, Birds=Forces of Darkness, Soil=Heart, etc."_
      But Matt 13: 33 uses leaven to describe the kingdom of God, so are you saying the Kingdom of God is sin?
      Kingdom of God -> leaven
      leaven -> sin
      therefore: Kingdom of God -> sin?
      In Matthew 23: 37, Jesus compares himself to a mother hen, is Jesus one of the Forces of Darkness?
      Jesus -> hen
      hen -> bird
      birds -> Forces of Darkness
      therefore: Jesus -> Forces of Darkness?
      I think if we try to gain consistency by woodenly assuming Jesus can't use the same objects to make different analogies, we end up with a very strange Jesus. It is the teachings of Jesus that are consistent, not necessarily the objects of his metaphors. We should consider each of Jesus's metaphors in its context.

    I had no idea that Jeff had this view on eschatology. Seems like he went from one extreme, dispensationalist any-moment-rapture, to the other extreme thinking there are 5000 years to go or what not. Both extremes are unhealthy. We are supposed to watch and long for the coming of Christ while fulfilling the Great Commission.
    A premillennial view is by no means inhibiting the spread of the gospel or encouraging apathy. His former extreme Dispensationalist views, however, do! Nor does it negate Christ as seated on the throne as King right now! Here he's throwing them in one pot and discarding them both, while getting confused along the way.

    • @Puma5

      +Puma5 32:37 This is just faulty reasoning. Why is he saying that the Christians who fled (went out of) Jerusalem were left behind? Because the wicked were not there anymore after the destruction?
      This example actually applies much better to the gathering together to Christ. Saints are brought to safety by being taken to Christ, respectively Jews into the place in the desert, where both are protected from the poured out wrath and the wicked are destroyed from the world.
      Obviously, by his reasoning, the saints will then have been left behind, but this is just confusion of terms.

      The example of the wheat and tares... the tares are gathered and destroyed while the wheat is left in the field. Who remained on the earth after 70 AD? Not those who stayed in Jerusalem.

    • @TheDeathInTheAir
      @TheDeathInTheAir 6 років тому

      Anthony Cox the wheat is harvested. There's no mention that the wheat remains in the field, it is gathered into a barn. But your context is a categorical error. The wheat and the tares are not a mention of saints and non saints, nor is it of believers and non believers in this generic sense. I'll give you the breakdown to help you understand.
      *Isaiah 30:24, Ruth 3:2
      These passages speak to the spreading of the gospel. Oxen and asses are 2 distinct animals, both feed on barley, which is winnowed in the air, representing the spirit passing thru the elect, while passing over those who follow those who teach falsely. Ox: saints; 1 Tim 5:18 Ass: Remnant Jews; Jer. 2:24
      (Deutoronomy 22:10 makes a type and shadow on the distinction.)
      *Matthew 13:30 speaks of the wheat and tares, which are those who carry the message. Some deceive, nonetheless they carry the message. Some who carry the message are confused and can be led away from the faith, therefore it's important to correct them, but not scorn or condemn them. The lord will take those who continue in error so far as to teach men a false Gospel, this is why they are first gathered and burned, while the wheat is harvested and gather into His barn. Luke 3:17 makes the distinction between the spreading of the Gospel and the Rapture.
      *Rev 14:18 is the Day of the Lord. He makes new wine from old grapes
      Isaiah 5:2-4
      Isaiah 17 makes clear that the wild grapes will be crushed 'in that day '

    Jeff Durbin, The Lord wants you to read Revelation Chapter 2, and to the angel of the church of Ephesus write...This is you Jeff! Jesus knows your work in apologetics and is pleased. Jesus hates the deeds of the Nicolaitins as you do. But you have been deceived by the spirit of Jezebel. The spirit of Elijah has come to testify of the Lords return and you deny this and teach others this doctrine of Satan. Return to your first love so that Jesus won't remove your lampatand.

      There is no difference between the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of grace. Paul talks about teaching the gospel of the kingdom in the book of Acts. The apostles talk about being brought into his kingdom of light there is no difference between the gospel of grace and the gospel of the Kingdom. They are the same. To say there are two gospels is exactly how Paul describes false teachers preaching another additional gospel.

      That's the most ignorant statement I've ever heard, do you know the gospel of the kingdom was under the law to jews only, but today we are under grace, the gospel of the Kingdom required repentance and water baptism, today we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise the moment we believe in Paul's gospel, that's why Paul the Apostle says if any other preach another gospel than mine let him be accursed,
      Israel rejected their Messiah, so the gospel of the kingdom was put on hold because of the rejection, and the resurrected Christ raised up Paul with this new dispensation of Grace.

      SaintOfYeshua777 Which of the apostles claimed to be Calvinist do you suppose? I'm not denigrating your study of the scriptures, but I truly question anyone who claims to have studied scripture so intensely that they've been given a sneak peak into the mind of God. Gnostics tried this early on. Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve, if it be God, then serve God, if it be John Calvin then serve him...

    • @anthonycox1877

      I would dare say anyone who studies the word of God with a true heart to know God without trying to shape the word into their own pre-conceived ideas will acquire a greater understanding to who God is and how He thinks different than we do. This is a progression, a journey for all of us. There are no "sneak peaks" as God will reveal Himself to each of us as He chooses through His spirit. It is up to each of us to read, ask God for understanding with a desire to know Him more. In doing so, we gain more awareness to the mind of God... we in Him and He in us. The mystery is, the natural man cannot obtain it to himself by himself or from anyone else.

      Calvinism is just another way to say the doctrine of the sovereignty of God. if you think the belief in God’s uttermost sovereignty is a cult, then you need to “go home and rethink your life...”
