This was the best game of the '80's State of Origin games. The sydney games were never sellouts until 1985, this contest was the first real S.O.O game in my opinion. Brett Kenny was phenomenal.

More offloads, more tackles, more action, more skill than the boring crap played today. 5m offside line, tacklers can rip the ball, markers can play at the ball. When I hear "Qld is the under dog" I can't help but laugh, Qld is the benchmark, Qld is, and will always be the Team to Beat. State Of Origin is, and always has been, can NSW beat Qld... Because they shouldn't... That's how it started, that's how it is today... State of Origin started Because Qld believed they were superior...And they were in the early games, and on average so far... But there's not much in it...
