  • We made this Documentary for our University Television course at The University of Westminster. This Documentary aims to show the strength and dedication involved in Cheerleading and to break the stereotype that its all about the Pom Poms, as there is a much harder side that people might not realise. We follow one British senior level 5 team through their training up until the final competition where they can prove themselves. We are really grateful to Crimson Heat tigers for letting us make a Documentary following them. We hope that Made to Cheer will change the way you look at Cheerleading forever!
    Our Documentary Crew:
    Producer - Rebecca Bowes
    Director - Paty Sanchez
Camera & Treasurer - Roiesha Boothe
Editor & Camera - Hannah Carroll
Digital Producer & Sound - Daisy Burton

It was great for our crew as well since we also didn't know much about Cheerleading! We hope we can shine a light on an underappreciated sport :) x

I love this but one thing that made me upset was that they said that their cheer is harder than America’s high school cheer because a lot of high school teams can do the same or better!

Sorry for the confusion! Im sure the girls weren't insinuating that they are better than any other team, as they were just excited at the idea of improving in themselves as an international cheer team.
In this documentary we aimed to break the classic cheerleading stereotype for people who don't know much about the world of cheer. From the outside, many people don't know that cheerleading is more than girls dancing with pom poms on the sidelines of american football matches. In the UK sideline cheer isn't common which is what the girls we interviewed meant. There are lots of fun different types of cheer and we wanted to shine a light on the more athletic and disciplined side not often seen in this country and to celebrate one of the up and coming British cheer teams, Crimson Heat Tigers.
