great deer hunting in this area my uncle peter was the mayor of pike atticas neighbor i baged a 11pt in 1980 me & my dad stopped in attica on our way home we had our first beer together RIP dad
We live in Canada and my wife and I were through New York 15 to 20 years ago. We went across these tracks (going right to left across the screen) and I nearly pooped my pants at the sheer steam whistle. I immediately pulled into a parking space on the right side of the road, quickly put the car in park, grabbed my camera and got out of the car, all the while my wife is frantic wanting to know what is wrong. We both got out of the car and I got a beautiful photo of the steam engine pulling multiple passenger cars. Wish I could share it here.
This was a great experience, look forward to taking a ride down again when they get the steam engine back up and running soon. The camera work here is horrible, need to shake and zoom all over more. Might want to just nix the tripod for starters.
Well this video was shot in 2017, my first full year with this channel. If you watch more recent videos you’ll see it has improved and I don’t pan or zoom much anymore,
Hey guys -- how cool are these videos? Sweet! We have a lot more to watch and we've added your site to our bookmark bar for easy, quick access. Thanks for sharing and lots of good luck as you travel on! Gram and Pop
Seems like maybe they were having problems with an air leak in the brake system, or the air compressor wasn't operating properly....or a hand brake didn't release? The loco was doing an awful lot of spinning and struggling at several locations, not just leaving the station.
@@paulzeigler7616 probably just the wheels slipping. I know that day was sunny but I do feel it had rained earlier in the week. But that was 7 years ago and my memory is a bit hazy.
Used to be Saturdays & Sundays from Memorial Day to last weekend in October till 2017. Shes been down since, they discovered an issue with the Boiler, and did NOT feel comfortable with firing up the engine in 2018. The area also led to them moving flues which those started this 1472 day inspection. My understanding is currently they did do everything they could, but had a Boiler Welder came in and they need a new boiler.
@@BessemerLakeErie902 It will be done when it is done. There is no clear time frame, but the railroad is trying to right now raise money for the repair's. The Goal is to have it back for its 100th Birthday Next February.

LOL the lady waving the smoke from the steam locomotive away from her face while she sucks down a cigarette. classic.
when i rode this as a kid in the 60s there was a black porter with a acoridian playing dina as a sing along i wanna be a kid again
When i rode i rode back in 1997 during a civil war days. I don't think they had an accordion player. But i could be wrong.

This is just awesomazing!!
8:28 That looks like a long island railroad ping pong coach that was once used for excursion trains on the Knox and Kane.
I wouldn’t know.
That is correct. Its an ex K.K.K.RR ping pong, purchased at the auction after the fire.
Great Video & Great Channel Keep up the Great work!
Thank you! We appreciate it!

Do they have a turntable there or something because when I went in 2016 the locomotive faced the other direction.
They do not. They have a wye. This was done because of the 100th anniversary celebrations. I hope they do it again!
Action Set & Go! Railfanning & Other Cool Stuff oh ok that’s cool
When do they operate this locomotive
