Prepare a way for the Lord. Homily for the Second Sunday of Advent, Year B.

In today’s gospel we have the opening words of Mark’s gospel: “The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, Son of God.” Mark is going to tell us the story of the one chosen by God to lead Israel on a new and greater Exodus, to lead us from Exile. Jesus, and not the Roman emperor is “Son of God”, and Jesus is the bearer of Good News.
