ATTENTION!!! Unfortunately it looks like evannex, where I bought the led T logo no longer sells this item. I spoke with the owner personally and he said it’s gone for good. :(
They didn't voluntary discontinue it. Tesla sent a cease and desist letter to all secondary venders preventing them from selling any Tesla T symbol anymore. Personally, I think it's stupid and petty of Tesla. It's not like Tesla sells this item and these venders are encroaching on their sales. If anything, secondary and aftermarket venders help Tesla by selling these things. All the model 3 look the same, so there is a huge market out there for aftermarket modifications to differentiate and personalize their Model 3. So, Tesla should be encouraging that, not threatening to sue venders!
I bought and installed this a couple years back; was thrilled. Last year one or two LEDs on the side of the lower portion stopped working, but it wasn’t noticeable from a distance. This past winter the entire lower portion stopped lighting up entirely, but the curved surface of the trunk lid bounces the light around enough that it still looks ok. Some green corrosion residue on the top bar. Now the manual trunk release button doesn’t work (but touchscreen can still open trunk). I’ve got a service centre appointment to fix the trunk button and I’m worried they’re going to say it’s not covered under warranty because I messed around with the wiring. I guess this product wasn’t designed for the snow and salt of Quebec winters : (
Thanks for the video! Just finished mine just now. I love it! Your suggestions make so much more sense than what the manufacturer says and that laser level is a must! What lighting scheme did you use? If I remember correctly they both turn the lights on when parking lights are on. The other one just makes the lighted T brighter when you step on the brakes.
Thanks! I’m glad my video helped. There’s only two ways to wire this. One, to the brake light. So, every time you hit the brakes it comes on. The other, is the way I did it in this video. When your tail lights come on, it’s on.
My car is 2018. It only comes on when the parking lights come on. So, basically it’s only on when your headlights automatically come on in the evening. This thing consumes very very little power. Like as much as your glovebox light. Nothing.
Hey man awesome job here! Do you by any chance know if the model S installation is similar? I've seen some older videos, but not sure if installation process is similar to 2017 vs a 2015
I used a 12v power supply I have. But, honestly, you could probably use a AAA battery or a D battery to test it. Or, if you have normal car around, test it on the car battery.
@@locoboof I just bought a used one, but it has no adhesive or string to take the original emblem off. What would you recommend to remove the original emblem and use to stick behind the new one?
I would use this to take it off. amzn.to/3CJRhJg And would use this to to put it on. I’d clean the emblem really good of all existing adhesive. Then put this on and cut around to it’s just in the shape of the T. amzn.to/3kEtpk1
Everything is going good. It’s perfect. If I were to do it again, maybe I’d raise the top portion of the T one millimeter higher. But, that’s only cause I’m super anal about stuff like that. No one els would even notice if I did. Probably not even me. Lol
@@locoboof yea saw it on amazon unavailable, how come it got discontinued? Its an awesome product. Also does installing any of these ruin the warranty for the car?

@@jt-rex6972 yea exactly like it’s so stupid how tesla does this shit
@@jt-rex6972 damn, I have 2 friends looking to buy one and it’s GONE! SMH…any on the “black market”?
Hopefully Tesla 2022 model will have these since we can't find them anywhere now ...
Man this looks dope! You did a phenomenal job! I would definitely hire someone like you to do that for me lol

Your method seems to make so much sense. I'm going to do mine this weekend.....Updates to follow.
You can do it Ron, I believe in you.
@@locoboof ....i did it this weekend...it looks so FN good 👍
Thanks James..
You’re welcome
I like the way it looks, to bad EV-Annex doesn't sell this any more.
Is this still available?
Unfortunately no
Great video. Very well done.
Thanks Jim
Looks great👍
Thanks!
Wow
Oh and ur Tesla looks good
Does this affect the warranty for your Tesla?
It looks great...too bad they don't sell anymore
Yeah, it’s pretty sad that they don’t. Such a great accessory.
does it turn on during daytime driving i dont want it to be on all day to help conserve battery

I don’t know, only because I don’t have an S. But, from what I’ve heard the videos from a few years ago are accurate.
Great Video. Just earned a Subscription from me. Great work Bro 👍🏾
Thank you
Nice install video! Can you tell me what equipment you use to test the T emblem? I purchase a T emblem and it may be bad

How do you get this emblem now? Evannex discontinued it
Wow, I didn’t know they discontinued it.
I can confirm. It is in fact discontinued.
Does this work on the newest 2021 Model S? I was able to get my hands on one.
Yes

locoboof Ok cool, mine just came in today. Trying to decide if connecting it to the brake lights is a better option. Thanks for making this video.
Hello, do you know where can get it?
They no longer sell these unfortunately
Where can I find one?
Unfortunately the company I bought them from got a cease and desist letter from Tesla. They no longer sell them.
@@locoboof thank you yes I talked to the owner of that company as well but I know somebody still making them in China. Let's find one LOL
Let me know?!? I could use another for sure!!
Too bad it doesn’t come in black since I’ve chrome deleted my P3D😩
Maybe you could put a matte black vinyl decal over the chrome?
Can it be wired to the brake lights, like the old vipers?
I don’t know what an old viper is, but yes, you can wire it to the brake light.
Could this be used on the front?
Hi! This is always on? Thanks
Only when you turn your lights on.
may i know what year is your model 3 dual motor AWD
2018
where can i get it from ? link is down, I NEED THIS !
Unfortunately they don’t make this anymore. It’s discontinued.

@@th3ndktn from my understanding they got a cease and desist letter.
is there any chance u can show how to fix it on the brakes?
Unfortunately I can’t, since I’ve never done it. But, I imagine it’s just connecting the wires to the brake light instead of the license plate lights.
Problems is that I am not so expert and not sure which wire is what so any help would be great
locoboof no, need hardness that connect licence place power and brake
Pretty sure those clips are blue 😂
I promise you they’re green. Maybe it appears blue on camera?
where are you located in California? I would pay you to install mine!
I’m in the Bay Area. But, I’d feel uncomfortable working on someone else’s car.
