That's a interesting ability, couldn't that potentially simulate a "spatial removal" attack?

In the game it’s being stated that her ability is more of a “making sure NOTHING occurs “ this way she prevented and distorted Yachie plans and behavior or manipulating enemies so they can do nothing about something.

gotta love that no one can decide whether this song uses vocal samples or an erhu. personally i've never heard an erhu played at such a high range that sounds like that (i mean, just listen to biten's theme) - when i heard this song for the first time, it instantly made me think of the type of heavily embellished vocal runs you hear all over carnatic music, which was super exciting - i love seeing indian music getting repped

To me it sounded a lot like those vocals from Kimetsu no Yaiba’s ost. Would make more sense since it’s Japanese.

@@kopi3841 yeah i'd heard that's what it was. it also turns out that this song uses both vocals AND an erhu (you can literally hear them playing at the same time in the early parts of the song, don't know how people (myself included) didn't notice this sooner)

THE VOCALS ARE SO GOOD, i legit was caught off guard when i heard them for the first time
EDIT: there seems to be some confusion on whether or not the song actually uses vocals or an erhu. it actually uses both, the vocal samples are part of a digital instrument pack called Mongolian Voices - Ancient Phrases by sonuscore, just pitched differently.

I like how heavy/powerful/intense this theme is.
Zanmu was really an amazing final boss. Zun has been on a roll with the final bosses of his games. Dude is on the 19 instailment of the series and still giving us fresh and super interesting characters. Zanmu's calm personality, mixed with her implied strength and the amazing theme really stood out to me. When the vocals/erhu hits I was like "ohh wow, this woman is going to destroy me, isnt she?" and bam, nailed between her infernal blue spears. These kind of boss fights is why I love touhou so much
this theme is incredible, unlike anything in touhou before
I'll listen to this music once i reach touhou 19 and then I'll give my opinion on it. I'm currently on Touhou 4 OST
I heard that new Touhou themes have supposedly fallen off and are not as dark and grim sounding as the old soundtracks, but i don't know if that's true or not

@@LavaCreeperPeople Kind of, ngl I feel like some themes since Touhou 16 either feel too "samey" or "awkward" (like Urumi's theme), with some exceptions that are actually incredibly good, though they're few, but listening to the Touhou 19 OST I feel they're redeeming themselves.

Gotta love anytime Erhu is used in a song, especially since you mostly see it in traditional Chinese music, so it's cool to see ZUN incorporate it

@@rpgluvr1358 ZUN definitely uses the erhu in other songs. A new example from this game would be Son Biten’s theme. Just compare that song to Kingdom of Nothingness and you’ll be able to tell that the sound is different.

To be honest, the first time I heard this was a CPU battle with Zanmu and Saki.
Until I looked up the song for the first time, I thought this was a new song for Saki because it sounded like something from a Western
Now that I think of it... She is basically one of the few characters that is not directly countered or disabled by Yukari o_0 Her power doesn't have any border, and cannont be affected by any border, so basically she is able to at least give Yukari some troubles. At least from what I can see xd
Maybe Yukari can disable the border of her body, making her disappear
@@MrCake-ic6hn I mean, that's something she can do to everything that exist in general lol. I was talking mainly that Zanmu at least is inmune to being OKKO by Yukari more than other characters(Without adding the more broken borders lol).
@@kr3533 Yea, Yukari's powers can be interpreted in many ways. I think Remilia can manipulate the fate some way where Yukari be screwed, but... this is not 100%. By the way, Zun told that Yorihime and Toyohime sisters were stronger than Yukari, Hekatia is stronger too. That's kinda weird though, how can they defeat such a hax ability, where Yukari basically can erase the border between life and death
@@MrCake-ic6hn Yeah, but I was thinking that as Zanmu is already in hell and is basically inmortal(Or at least whith an infinite life-span) she can be inmune to the border of life and death, and also taking a look into the Touhou Wiki, while Yukari can try to find a border to OKKO Zanmu, she is able to manipulate Yukari with her nothingness, making Yukari not willing to fight or to make any strategy(Similar to Yachie but worst), she could also make Yukari unable to teleport with gaps, as Yukari is basically making gaps between one place and another in a completely blank space(Therefore, a place in the middle pf the nothing). So, if Yukari is not able to escape and nlt able to fight at all, I think that Zanmu, with some caution, can at least give Yukari some real troubles xd
And yeah, I also don't understand how Hecatia and Yorihime can defeat someone like Yukari, my best interpretation is that there is a difference between a character's power force and their strength, because for example, Seiga has a pretty broken ability(Bein able to reverse anything), but she is considered among the weakest Youkais. So I think that is what it means(?
@@kr3533 I shall try to defend Hecatia. Hecatia's ability is to have 3 bodies, which doesn't seem powerful at all until you realize what it means for a Japanese god to have a body. So before everything in the Touhou verse there was nothing at all and the gods decided to name everything allowing it to exist. Naming something brings it into existence and borders it into existence. Once the gods are given a name through faith or some other power their true form changes to an idea that exist across existence. This means for Yukari to defeat a Japanese God she will have to completely get rid of the concept of whatever the name relates to. Im not sure if she can actually do that but if she can that only gets rid of a part of the primordial form. The true form of the gods were nameless beings meaning their actual form didn't exist as an idea meaning there is no boundary for Yukari to erase at all. That's covering the gods and Hecatia is stated to be the strongest in the verse. Sorry for making a general summary on why she can't beat the Japanese gods I'll focus on Hecatia now.
She's not a goddess of a specific concept but rather has a bunch of names attached to her that all lead to Hell. Not only that she's a goddess of the Earth, Moon, the Otherworlds. My interpretation of her 3 bodies its more than just that it's allowing her to use all 3 of the goddess attributes she has. Meaning she can change her very concept when she changes her globe on her head and can use the powers of each concept. Oh yeah her core does reside in hell, but because she's a goddess of all of the Otherworld's hells it's an infinite amount of hells it could be in. She can change her concept before Yukari can change it, access Yukari's dimension if it counts as a Otherworld, and can pretty much warp the reality of the Earth, Moon, Otherworlds, and every hell associated with it. That everything I can think of.

it's not true
I don't think the previous songs are particularly known for being grim, though maybe i'm not hearing from the same sources. I'd say based on absolute bangers like this theme and Keiki's, as well as Biten's, ZUN is still going strong. The previous games too had one or two themes per game that stood out as exceptionally good.

Nippaku's theme gives IN or UFO vibes imo. Like this one theme in the vid, some modern Touhou themes are still great. To say 2hu music have fallen off, there are people who are stuck the first ERA of 2hu windows and refuse the second era
What's really good about Touhou series is that every game has its unique way to generate the right atmosphere and at the same time represent every single character through the emotions the soundtrack are able to generate in the listener mind.
