    I just got into camera photography. I'm glad that my first camera is a Fujifilm. I bought the XT20 as I can't afford the XT2 and XT3 yet. I have the 18-55 and 23 f2. Love them.

      Agree 100%.Fuji, especially the XT3 is the first manufacture to make the art and passion of photography fun again. Something Canon, Sony and Nikon suck at.

      Ziggi Mon this manufacturer gives you a choice of different body types: slr, rangefinder, gripless or with it, whatever you want.

    • @airgliderz
      @airgliderz 5 років тому +1

      @Ziggi Mon gripless bodies?? Stupid unintelligent dslr fangirl comment. All Fuji caneras have good usefull grips, are you blind? Better yet they are light and small especially compared to hod awfull 35mm sized sensor cameras using old antique technolgy DSLR flappy mirrors, huge, subject imposing, heavy, ugly, hard to hold or carry for any length of time so call "FF" if marketing bull crap when full frame are really crop sensors of medium format. Sensor size Dr ie not matter except to those ego driven pixel peeping picture takers.

    Loved the review. I’m just getting more into photography and I guess I will choose the Fujifilm xt3 instead of the a7iii. It just felt better in my hand. Instant love. Btw... a question that I don’t seem to find an answer too... How large can you print !? Can you print poster size and still have a good quality. I’m looking to shoot fine-art photography and would love to print my pics. Thanks 🙏 to anybody answering this. Mucho kudos. 🙌 btw... I’m not a pixel peeper nor do I care about full frame vs other. I believe that photography should just transmit emotions. It’s all in eye of the beholder.

    The kit lens is only like 200 dollars if bought with the camera. The 16-55 f2.8 is over 1000 dollars. There is no comparison there at all. The kit lens also has image stabilization and is awesome for its price.

  • @lapinobel

    I have the XT2 and the A7III and 100% agree with the closing comment. The Sony is in all respects the 'better' camera and still I grab the Fuji more because of the 'soul'. Hard to explain unless you can use them side by side.

    Nice review and great video. I own and XT3 and agree with you but only one thing i think you are totally wrong. The "Kit" lens 18-55 is a really great lens. either for photo or video. And you're wrong about maximum aperture. Is a 2.8 - 4. Cheers.

  • @dheevesh16

    The Fujifilm feels better in the hands than the Sony and to me seems fun to shoot with. Native Fujifilm lenses cost less than native Sony cameras. Image quality is similar to the A7 III as long as you’re not shooting in low light. The Fuji body is also cheaper. If these features are enough, then get the Fuji.
    But to me, the Sony A7 III is my favourite camera nonetheless. Native lenses are indeed expensive. But Sony fits a full frame sensor in a body similar in size to the XT3. As a result, low light performance is extremely good (and I love shooting low light in an era where in day light, there is too little difference between smartphone camera quality and pro camera quality). Dynamic range is very high in the A7 III - I rarely find myself having to shoot multiple photos and merge them. And I find it very fun to shoot with, although I would love it to have as much of a mechanical feel as the Fuji.

    • @IguanaFilmArts
      @IguanaFilmArts 5 років тому

      I will be using the A7SII alongside a Fuji XT-3. The lowlight and IBIS of the A7SII is usefull in situations the XT3 can't be useful in. I would use the XT3 70% of the time though, it's that good.

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching.
      This really depends what you like. Are you a photographer mainly or also into video. If you like video then take away the CL.
      If you want a camera for photography then it’s different. The XT3 is a fantastic camera. Fast autofocus, a number of great APS-C lenses, but image quality compared to the CL isn’t as good.
      The CL is compact, great image quality especially with the 35 1.4. For many it’s as good as the M10. The 35 is also a “reference” lens. Shoot wide open and enjoy some beautiful bokeh with your subject razor sharp.
      Autofocus isn’t as good as Fujifilm though so keep that in mind.

    I've tried my friend's XT3 and it is a great camera! Not denying that at all. But.........better than the A7III? In my opinion, absolutely not! Better autofocus and tracking, better in low light, and the image quality is amazing, not "decent" as you say. There are down sides to the A7III as there is with every camera but for me, having used both and an owner of two A7III's, I'd pick the A7III ten times out of ten. The XT3 is not that far behind though and a great camera for anyone to enjoy! Fujifilm is definitely making a statement that they are a force to be reckoned with!

    Thanks for the video. I came for the 200mm! I would not skip the "kit lens". It is excellent performance for the price when purchased with the body and blows other kit lenses that I have used away. It is also the least expensive way to get XF OIS if you want to get going with handheld video. I prefer the images from the older primes over the f2s and particularly love the 35 1.4 as a walk around. But I dont get to play in the rain with it.
    I wonder if the issue you had with tracking on the 200 had more to do with having face detection on (at least in the clip of the karts you showed)? I know my XT3 can sometimes get a little wonky when there are no faces (without helmets) in the scene. Why are you converting aperture when discussing FF equivalence. It sounds wrong and people are going to get grumpy.

    • @TECH360TV

      Tracking with the 200 was difficult I believe due to the lens being too Long for the track with the teleconverter on it. I tried many different modes before settling on the one in the video. This was user error 💯. No knowing the track a 100+ would be much better.
      I shot with the kit lens but didn’t find it outstanding. Perhaps on video it’s better but it was okay only. I feel a good kit lens should be fast enough for night and day photos.
      As for the converting of numbers, some don’t like it, but there is a difference from full frame.

    I noticed with many of your shots you weren’t shooting with the 180 degree shutter rule, I’m assuming it’s because you were trying to compensate for the lack of light but without stabilization, it doesn’t pan out well even with the steadiest of hands. I was tempted by fujifilm when this camera released but I like to be versatile and be able to shoot in any condition and keep my images clean and without grain as much as I can and that means going full frame and I can’t go back now. Is the Fuji better than the Sony? Personally I don’t like the analog style dials. Shot film for 40 years and I’m sick of them. Don’t get me wrong I think the Fuji is a great camera but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I went from Canon FF to Sony FF and I like the advantages of FF so aps-c is not going to cut it. I do think the GFX series looks very interesting however. Comparing the Fuji and Sony is like apples and oranges to me. If you compare this camera to say the Sony a6400 that would be more like it. The focusing on the a6400 is pretty hard to beat though. I did enjoy your video and presentation but I’m not sold on what camera is “better”. Just spent a day photographing Rallycross with the XT3 and the 200mm f2. I find the shutter button to be too close to the overall slim downed body. Unlike most other cameras the shutter release is not located further forward and on a separate bulb part of the camera moulding. In my view this detracts from the general handling of the camera. The pricing of the 200mm is just £1,000 less than the Holy Grail of all lenses - the Canon 300mm f2.8. I don't understand the reasoning behind this - and of course the Bokeh can't match this on a FF camera body. The slimmed down camera body coupled with such a large lens is a questionable mix.

    For the SLR styled Fuji cameras, I still enjoy using my X-H1 over my X-T3. There is a "feel" to the H1 that I cannot get with the T3 and I thoroughly love the H1's shutter mechanism. Once I got the 16-55, I started to wonder why I did not get that lens sooner. In the process, I have all the 1.x primes so I guess that is a bonus for waiting so long to get the 16-55. :p
    I think you needed to spend more time on the tracking AF. When I use the T3 with a selected wide tracking area (compared to what appeared as single focus point) and use one of the tracking presets I can normally get a majority of action shots I'm trying to capture. Enjoyed the video. :)

    If You ask if the Fujifilm XT-3 is better than the SONY A7III - that is hard to judge. Each camera has its streghts and asking such questions is a bit tricky. But if You really want to compare the color science, sensitivity, sharpness, etc, You can look at the comparometer at Imaging Resource and the answer is clear. SONY A7III is sharper at every ISO and delivers far more detail, even if it has little less megapixels. There are Canon cameras, like the 5D MkIV. which has much more megapixels and still it delivers less details than the SONY A7III. And the noise levels? SONY is better. And the color rendition? I think both are excellent and none of them is really better. That is my experience.

    its a shame that reviewers of the X-T3 lack a basic understanding of how ISO is calibrated. ISO is not a true measurement in the sense its an industry standard, but is relative, Canon, Sony and Nikon use the REI standard and Fuji use the SOS standard that is considered more objective. When these standards are aligned the Fuji's IOS is relatively higher at a given IOS than the other manufacturers meaning the Fuji's ISO performance is nearly identical (approximately within half a stop) in performance vs the Sony. Again, this is the case of camera makers using dodgy settings to fool the public into believing that a camera has an high ISO when in fact the improvement is in the markings on the dial rather than actual sensor improvement.

    The X-T3 is great but it has limitations in stills for professional shooting. You can't compare an APS-C with a FF sensor. It just can't touch the HDR and low light performance of the Sony a7III. No IS in body neither on the best basic zoom lens 16-55mm f/2.8. For APS-C is a superb choice (maybe top) but who can afford the XF 200mm f/2??? You go from $1900 which is the most "affordable" XF lens (100-400mm) to $6000!!! There's a huge gap over there...

    I found the the information on the 18-55 misleading as many other people here. Especially considering the price, the 18-55 is a beautiful piece of glass and will make 90% of the people very happy. Of course the 16-55 is superior in many ways, but its also a lot pricier. Well, it has become quite obvious for me that you target those of us that are willing to spend thousands of dollars and I guess we shouldn't be expecting budget tips from you. But saying that the "kit lens", which is the XF18-5mm f2.8-4, is not a good deal, is flat out wrong for the majority of people. Also, as I'm reading through the comments with your replies, you seem to justify yourself about the kit lens. Just a tip: it's not as bad as you think to admit once in while when you're wrong. Have a good day!

      @@TECH360TV I agree with you on that one. Yet I still think that for the majority of people the 18-55 2.8-4 kit lens is a great recommendation. But then I guess we agree to disagree. But let's not forget that we're all here for the love of Fuji, so enjoy shooting!

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  3 роки тому

      I agree we are here because we like Fuji and what they are doing. Reason sometimes I recommend higher priced lenses (not always but sometimes) is that time and time again I get questions about why do I have so much noise in my photos, why are my pics in Low light not so good, why aren’t my pictures sharp. Sometimes this is user error and sometimes they choose the least expensive lens only to find out that it limits how they want to shoot and capture images. The XT3 isn’t the best with Low light performance and some
      Complain about this. So I recommend the f2.8 to save them money in the long run. If they buy a cheap lens and try to sell it they can loose a lot in the process and end up spending more money than the higher priced one.
      There are exceptions to the rule but this happens a lot.
      In terms of budget friendly lenses I love the Z Mount 1.8 lenses. They are sharp, great bokeh and great colors for affordable prices. I also feel the same about the Sony 1.8 lenses too.

      Be careful in wet weather with the A7III. Some of the lenses might be okay, but Sony isn’t great on the weather sealing yet. I’m guessing the new versions in the future will be.
      Btw like the A7RIII, perhaps my favourite Sony

    I am guessing the lens mount has been bent, holding the camera with one hand and that huge lens attachted???

      @@oliverlison Not all mounts are created equal. There is a video around showing the strength of an XT mount vs A7. Sony seems pretty brittle.
      But yeah I would use two hands specially since its not my camera!

      @@felixtheengine any lens that is heavier than 600gr I would support with two hands. My heaviest lens is a 24-70 2.8.... But I somehow damage the mount. Maybe knocking camera/lens combo onto something..... I don't have Sony

    I own an xt3 and used to own a Sony. Fujifilm is great and I'm very happy with it but Sony is a different monster. There's levels and Sony is on top.

      I like Sony’s other camera’s like the A7R series and A9, but feel at a 2k price point the fujifilm has better video, and the photography aspect appealed to me more

    Hey , I enjoyed the content but I think you underplayed the image quality of this vs a7iii. For some one looking to take sharp and quality photos, isn’t the Sony FF systems cheaper than Fuji APSC?

      Thanks for watching. Sharp photos doesn’t mean it’s better. I can put a Zeiss Otus on a camera and get sharp photos. It’s about the whole package. The feel, Color science etc. Sony makes a great camera. I have taken some great pics with Sony cameras, just like the feel of the Fujifilm.
