Michael Douglas is the perfect guest in a chat show. He's intelligent, funny, has lots of stories, etc., and he's very comfortable to be around. In addition, he's a pretty good actor.
The Douglas family has brought us all so many wonderful movies over the years. I love and respect them both.
Indeed. Watch Kirk’ see” lonely are the brave” and be awestruck by his brilliance. Classic .
I’m loving the Kaminsky Method. The Netflix method of giving shows the length they need is great, rather than having to cram to a fixed length.
Except when they stretch pointless dialogue because they don't have enough plot for a season.
I love Michael Douglas. What a face. What a voice. What a presence.
That tree had a great apple fall of it for sure.
One of my all time favorite actors, EVER.
One flew over the cuckoos nest is a masterpiece what an incredible movie
Michael Douglas seems like a real gentleman.
Is the the same guy that starred in The Streets of SF? And who was that guy with the big nose?
@@paulohara8967 karl malden
Boy o boy...the stories Michael could tell. It'd have to be a 2-hour special.
You should look for his episode of Inside the Actor’s Studio - has to be a lot of what you’re talking about in that one. Lipton was a great interviewer.
@@tommyt1971 Thank you. I'll check that out.
I'm enjoying The Kominsky Method. Hard to find good movies like this, light, non-violent, great writing, great acting, for older audiences. Thank you Netflix. Do more.
I agree. Sometimes the writing or execution was a bit uneven but there were some genuinely moving sequences. Also some real good acting challenges for Mr. Douglas. And it's always funny. It's a more daring show than "Grace and Frankie" which I also enjoy, but it plays a little safely.
Telma Elma a series
The man is a class act. Love him for his art and looks too.
i love how Stephen always appreciate his guest, i noticed he respects his guests a lot. Especially if they're legends in their craft. U can see he's really enjoying talking with Michael Douglas.
intelligent, confident, extremely talented man. Michael Douglas has made some of the best movies, Wall Street, The Game, Falling Down, Fatal Attraction. wow so many come to mind. dudes a legend
Good to see Michael Douglas doing well and fully recovered (was announced on August 16, 2010 that Douglas was suffering from tongue cancer, and would undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Douglas subsequently confirmed that the cancer was at stage IV, the most advanced stage.)
Micheal is 90..he looks it
If he didn’t have $. He’d be gone long ago
Jimmy B You’re totally right.........No money “good bye”
pretty good for 74 and his dad lived past 100
@@sierria64 Michael is not 90, he is his 70s. We all age, you will too. 😎
What a cool gentleman 👍🏻
Mr. Douglas, what a gracious man!!
This interview kinda made my night. Always found this guy as entertaining as himself as he is in any role you can name. Gonna watch Falling Down tomorrow, I think.
Yep gotta admit his movie falling down was my favorite
@@hamishgaffaney5323 his best movie is The Game
Or Traffic
New Message - Falling Down is one of the best films ever. Did he win the oscar for it? Should have.
@@OldRaver FD was very good, but one of the best? Hmm....
Just imagine reaching 74 years old and still having your father around, crazy that Kirk Douglas is still alive
This man is a Legend! best performance Falling Down
Kominsky Method is fabulous, great acting, super cast. What a treat.
Can’t nelieve his dad, Kirk, is still alive! 102 next month! Brilliant actor, his films still stand up.
(Michal is 74!)
I have always thought that Michael Douglas was good-looking. He is aging well❤😉 He really looks like his dad.
Kirk is the ultimate man's man.
They could pass for twin brothers except for Kirk's age. To see how Kirk just refused to allow the stroke to get him down is a testament to the type of amazing person he is. And now he's in triple digits, like a human freight train. :-)
Plastic Surgery......
Great genes. His dad will be 102 on Dec. 9! He looks good too. I always had a crush on Kirk, and then on Michael too.
Except for in Falling Down...he really did look like a crazy over the edge nerd who was about to columbine the city
'The Kominsky Method' is one of the BEST series I've seen in ages. Created by Chuck Lorre, (Big Bang Theory), it co-stars Alan Arkin and is incredibly funny. What I love is the best friend theme that drives the stories. I'll be surprised if it doesn't win an Emmy!
What a gracious man. When I’m asked why I’m not with a man, I’m going to say Michael Douglass is taken.
I just LOVE HIM!
"Has your father ever turned to you and said, 'I'm Spartacus?'"
No! _I'm_ Spartacus!
hahahahahaha
The Demsky Method.
I remember watching The Street's of San Francisco when I was a boy in Scotland! I thought San Francisco and America was so great and I wanted to visit.
Falling Down my favorite Michael Douglas movie.
He's seriously good in that film.
He should do talk shows more often. He must have all kinds of great stories to tell.
LEGEND ALERT!
Falling Down is my favorite Douglas film!
The Game!
Black Rain 👍
George Marko Have to check out that one. Saw Music made by Hans Zimmer for the movie.
WALL STREET " GREED IS GOOD".. MY MAN SAID WHAT WE KNOW IS TRUE AS GORDAN GECCO
Ive always loved michael douglas - what a great guest.
I saw the whole season of the Kominsky Method and it is well worth the time to watch it. Hope there is a second season.
The Kominsky Method is fantastic. So funny and relatable -- great writing and Michael Douglas and Allen Arkin are brilliant together. I'm on episode 5 right now and every episode has been great.
We loved The Kominsky Method. Can't wait for more!
Cuckoo's Nest was his dad's long-time project; glad Michael saw it to fruition (according to Nick Nolte's book, who guested on Streets of San Francisco, Michael got free coke impounded by the local cops. Nice!).
What a great interview.
Brilliant actor always a favorite!
Michael Douglas = National treasure
It's so good to see Michael Douglas again on the screen and really funny.
Michael Douglas is probably one of the greatest actors the world will ever see. Truly a legend.
Is where he is only by a fluke of birth. Truly an exploiter of his father's fame.
@@MrExEssex You could apply that shallow logic to anyone.
Nah, he's a fine actor but not one of the greatest.
@@MTMF.london I'll take your word on that. Which to me, is relatively meaningless.
Rewatch his 'corrupt cop in Japan' drama Black Rain quite a bit. Underrated.
Agreed. He's rough, corrupt and charmingly vain and nihilistic in that film. The moment when the Japanese mafia man asks why he should rely on him to commit a high risk hit and the way he just says 'because you got nothing to lose' in such a reckless way is truly fucking magic.
Ben Diaz I
The Kominsky Method is recommended - great fun.
Whenever I stayed home sick from school in the years before Cuckoo's Nest, I would watch The Mike Douglas Show and Merv Griffin show. The TV propped on the bed, eating cinnamon toast of course. The book is worth reading too.
Wow, what a class act! Great interview!
Movie history right there :)
It's crazy how Michael Douglas is 74 years old and his father is still alive.
Yeah Michael Douglas was a made actor long before Cuckoo's Nest, and Streets was one of the greatest shows in history Michael Douglas was brilliant in it ! were getting old !
LOL. I went back and watched that show a couple of years ago. It does NOT age well.
And now, a coincidence considering your username, he's in the Netflix animated series 'Green Eggs and Ham'.
@@Serai3 I disagree. TSOSF is a gem. It is a 70s masterpiece and it should be appreciated as such.
Michael Douglas one of the best actors of his generation Wall St, Falling Down.
I watched Streets every week. It was stunning. Karl Malden was rivetting. I also saw Starman with Bridges and Karen Allen before she got famous in Indiana Jones. It's a fine movie. Jeff was great in King Kong too with the luminous Jessica Lange. Now I need to see Kozminsky I LOVE Nancy. She's a doll.
Definition of Silver Fox
How can his face look so good in the studio and then in the film he looked so old and grey. Amazing.
What a freaking great guy :) a real genuine kind soul
Sometimes the old timers interviews are rather dull, especially since I'm not really a cinema buff. But this one with Mike Douglas was entertaining and fun from beginning to end
that movie THE GAME with Micheal Douglas was fantastic
What an interesting interview. Great hosting, too, letting the guest shine and share such inspiring stories... 😎
its great listening to guys like this who can just hold court and tell stories for days
Great interview! You both Rock! As in, 'Good People' I believe.
CLASS ACT!
I am currently enjoying the show ‘ Kominsky method ‘ on Netflix , great show , thank you .
Great to see old school class is still prevalent in Hollywood 👌🏻
This guy just exudes history, a part of so many generations 😍. Kirk is almost 102!
Already watched all of it. It's Great.
I LOVE this great actor, and he is a great guy :)
Nancy Travis is a great actress. Glad she is working with Michael on this show.
Too bad she works with happy Trumper Tim Allen now. Must need the money.
love this guy
That movie was a masterpiece.
Doesn't look dated in the slightest..
Great actors and scripted.
Not a single frame wasted.
Romancing The Stone. My favorite movie of probably all time
For a brief 3-4 year period in the 80s. He was one of the top actors. With a string of hits.
Only because of his father.
Already seen The Kominsky Method it's a real good series I enjoyed every episode, DeVito was so funny as his doctor.
Somehow I've always thought that he was an ass, but I guess he is just a great actor, made me believe that while actually being a very interesting, natural and approachable person. One of the best guests so far.
Class !❤
Well I had no damn idea about this. Amazing how really cool details about these famous people we know get overtaken by their more recent accomplishments but WOW what a career!
He's 74? Wow, he acts and looks much younger. Must have great genes, I guess that explains why his dad is 102 and still going.
He's always been a hell of a nice guy😎
God, I love that film. Brilliant. And to top things off, five years later Jack was in The Shining. 😈
LEGEND!
Great book. A great example of how the individual is smothered by the community.
Amazing film.
Been a long time fan of his work. Coma with Genevieve Bujold & The China Syndrome with Jack Lemmon & Jane Fonda are two of my favorite films of his.
I AM SO OLD! Father Kirk, is one of my favorite actors, greatest movies. In this clip, the Son looks and acts like his father, and he has made more and wonderful films. During my entire life!
They are both dead (as actors/producers), and I feel old. JEsus! Where did the years go?
The Kominsky Method is F'n hilarious! Great, great show.
Great Production
loved this interview
Check him out in Solitary Man 2009. This is why we love this guy!
great little overseen gem
I still watch streets of sanfrancisco even in 2018
Thank u I am big fan of 70's I remember walking down streets of Chicago i miss the great looking cars / people clean shave/ easy going people/ the Bell bottom pants/ no cellphones/the candy store on every street corners/ the sound of cash registers/people carrying boom box / life was not that complicated then I could even take a bus @ 2 o clock at night all gone for good including music
@@rajsindha7432 I am also a huge fan of the series. Every time I get to go to San Francisco I tell my kids to look for the brown Ford Galaxie 500 because I know they are driving somewhere.
Man...he looks so much like Kirk! WOW! What a team of Winners!
Wow he looks so much like his Dad!
50's T.V. actors to film: Eastwood, McQueen and James Garner (who successfully balanced both throughout his career.)
Like the Bernoulli clan was to math; the Douglas clan was to movies.
It must be genetics.
Making ONE good film is the dream. Kirk and Michael put their name on 20 fabulous films. Both are legend.
Great show! 😀
The man's in a great shape
Streets of San Francisco is an awesome show a Michael is awesome in it. If anyone hasn't seen the show check it out you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely. Every episode is a masterpiece.
As a proud Fifer i met the M.D on the streets of st andrews maybe 20 years ago.I asked him if he would sign a copy of his dvd the game.No problem he said.As i pulled out my pen i dropped it on the pavement. He bowed down and picked it up and duly signed it.That simple act of him picking up the pen said a lot to me.
He looks so much like his father.
What a gentleman! Also intelligent, funny and still sexy as hell!
That was goooood
Enjoyed this interview, loved the FLick Starman , but Douglas is not listed in the credits.
Kominsky method seems like a promising show. Hope he gets awards and nominations.
Name your favorite Michael Douglas film
Mine "The Game"
Fatal Attraction!
War of the Roses
Hold my beer: BLACK RAIN of course.
What do you get... for the man that has Everything?!
Falling down
1975 - best year ever!
To me he represents the all rounder of hollywood...actor, producer, director etc...,. fearless like his dad, when he went against all odds and fought the infamous black list....no body messes with them... 10 points..
